I love the orchestral version, but I rember the lyrics and.... I see two elves among the last ones still lingering in Middle Earth while the other has already departed. ...Mirrors of the light who shone from the two ancient trees Telperion and Laurelin, lit in another time (many many years ago) and place(Valinor). Let's imagine they're a wood elf from Eryn Lasgalen(him) and a Galadhrim from East Lorien (her). They came to know each other in the past when a delegation from Mirkwood came to Lothlorien....so she knew his name and his face and they felt in love. Now, it happens that the wood elf gets mortally injured (somehow in an epic way) and in his death bed cries the loved one he will never see again (except in Mandos) singing that he will never "embrace the touch she gives, find solace in her words etc". For the Valar grace she feels his end is near and sees his dreams about their future, bathed in a joy similar to the one the Trees' light gave to the ancient Eldars. But there's nothing she can do. She rides hard to meet him one last time and under the STAR SKY, holding his dying body in her arms at last, she cries and shouts her pain (see 4:49). "Burn the page for me" stays for a plea from him for her to forgive him.
Dear TSFH, when I hear this song, I feel the incredible pain of someone who knows that they now have to hurt another person (or their own country and army), a person (or country, army) whose love (loyalty) they cannot reciprocate any longer, an entity with whom a happy relationship filled with memories has ended. It has ended, brought nights without sleep, and the awareness that no other choice is possible. This is not a story of someone finding something else, and leaving a former 'something' behind. This is someone leaving someone else without any replacement. It is a break from something into nothing. It is a hard hard pain when nothing is a better solution for us than staying in an environment that offers love. Not a song about the pain of those left behind, a song by those who are doing the leaving.

I like the original version with choir as well the instrumental a lot. In this orchestral version the main melody is a bit too quiet. So I would prefer the instrumental over the orchestral
