I just finished RTD's era, I really enjoyed Martha and Donna but yeah... nothing even close to Rose, honestly. I'm ready now for Amy and Clara though ! :D

So watching this now, post the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who, I just really wanna know what you thought of the twist in "The Giggle" in regards to Rose's ending at the end of Season 4
Like, personally it just made me have mixed feelings, almost like they kinda ruined that a bit?
Soooooooooooo, first, thank you very much for watching and asking me this question !
I think though the first thing to know is that I wasn't entirely satisfied with the end of Rose in season 4. Don't get me wrong, I think it was a good ending, and probably the best one that we could get at this time but... I wasn't such a fan of the idea of her being back in Pete's world with another version of the Doctor when THE Doctor was still alive and running in adventures, especially when it actually broke the Doctor's heart of giving her this life, for her to be happy, while he condemned himself to solitude. Although I also think that he didn't take into account many things about Rose at the end, notably the fact that she was no longer the young woman he knew at the beginning, that she had changed , that he changed her, "you take ordinary people and turn them into weapons", to quote Davros and Rose was the perfect example of this, she was less human at the end of season 4 than she was at the beginning of season 1, and hardened a lot. I don't think she could change Tentoo like she changed the Doctor himself but he didn't have the time to realize this, since they barely had time together once they were reunited.
I also think that it was a cruel choice for Rose, and that he imposed this choice on her. She wasn't at all convinced that Tentoo was also the Doctor, but she also waited for years for the Doctor to tell her that he loved her and to hear it from Tentoo, even though she was unsure, it It was the image of a dream, the overflow of emotions that she had been holding back for years. The Doctor takes advantage of the kiss and her distraction to leave, not allowing her to argue more. And when she saw him leaving, she ran after him. Because I think she would have always chosen the Doctor himself over Tentoo and I think the Doctor knew that, deep down. And he didn't allow her to make that choice.
So the end of season 4 was bittersweet for me. She was with a Doctor, but not THE Doctor. I always had the feeling that Tentoo was not only based on the Doctor, but also on Donna, and that he was a mix between the Doctor and Donna, and not really the Doctor himself. And as for the Doctor himself, he was alone. It was only a semi-happy ending.
Besides that, I loved the 60th anniversary episodes and... the fact that the Doctor had this bi-regeneration allows the Doctor to still be himself (with the dear face of David Tennant) while always having another version of himself running around. Unlike Tentoo, the 14th Doctor just came of his own accord. And the fact that he calms down and settles down... it gives me hope, that by staying with Donna and the others, he realizes that he is missing something and that he is looking for a way to find his way back to Rose. I feel like "The Giggle" opens a door to that, with this Doctor staying with Donna, perhaps the Unit, and eventually, reuniting with Rose. I have this headcanon, and I wouldn't have been able to have it if the 60th episodes hadn't happened. Does this ruin a bit of what they did with Tentoo? Probably but since it doesn't satisfy me, I'm a little happy about it lol

That is EXACTLY how I felt about Rose's end. How it felt cruel almost, that she was left in the parallel universe with a copy of the man she loves, as if he's the same man, and that she was never given a choice in that
And you're 100% right in that The Doctor took advantage of the kiss, knowing that Rose would always choose him and come after him, and I think most likely, I don't think he would've been able to stop her had he lingered
I never thought Rose would have been able to love Tentoo the same way if at all, because both of them are different people from what Rose and the Doctor were in season 1
One of my favourite aspects of Doctor Who, I'll admit, has always been the fact that he makes soldiers out of his companions like Davros said, because in the end, there is truth in it.
I have mixed feelings about the Bi-generation thing because I feel like 1) it kind of takes away from the agony that comes at the end of each Doctor's era. That change is inevitable. it will be extremely painful but will remain unavoidable. Now it kind of feels like it's cheating out of that?
2) being the Tentoo storyline thing, where now it kind of feels moot?
Because he can choose to be with Rose now. He can slow down and age. He could live a life with her in a way, and then eventually regenerate. "A new man goes sauntering away",
