- Jason Isbell stopped by the KXT Studios prior to his show at the Factory at the Studio on May 9. Isbell and 400 Unit guitarist Sadler Vaden performed 3 songs from Isbell’s upcoming release “Weathervanes”. The new album came out on June 9. Until then, here’s a sneak preview from 91.7, KXT.
I say it every album they release. At least 3 of ‘em will make this Georgia man cry on the shoulder of someone’s Saturday night.
I heard this on NPR and couldn't get out of my car until the song was over. Being from the S.E., I understand the significance of the Cast Iron Skillet and it's care. Having lost a brother a few years ago who was dear to me, to life without parole after decades in prison... This song hit me really hard.. like a cast iron skillet would. Keep up the amazing work, Jason- This is that. Simple but Amazing.
He keeps them coming. Like if you think this is his best album yet.

I’m partial to Something More Than Free but I love ‘em all- this one took a couple listens and seeing him play the whole thing live but I have it on repeat now
Between this, King of Oklahoma and This Ain't It alone, I'd have to say Weathervanes is his best work yet.
This album is right there with Southeastern. Phenomenal top to bottom
