I think first time didn't work because there are 3 hero in return damage area of torment. Tourment damage return is higher when there is fewer units within its return range
From what I know the fountain actually has almost no HP, it's just invulnerable. AFAIK the reason it dies from tormentor is because if there are no heros in range to take the hit, it just instantly kills the attacking non-hero unit no matter what it is, and i guess they made it ignore invul too. So it's not that it didn't deal enough damage, it's that it can't kill fountain at all unless there are no heros around.
My understanding is that Tormentor never hits non-hero units unless there are absolutely no heros around, but if you do try to hit it with a non-hero unit with no hero in range to take the hit, the Tormentor just instantly kills the non-hero unit that attacked it. the fact that the fountain is even coded to have the possibility of dying baffles me. At least in WC3 it had to be a building but this isnt a mod anymore it effect can literally just be a hitbox detection
theres always a hp bar for fountain, from WC3 state, even till now, fountain is always killable, just whether izzit possible to do it or not. think they will keep fountain as killable even later on.

how about a Mega Stacked Comb. Meepos Stacked on top of each other, infested by Lifestealer, swallowed by pudge, carried arround on Centaurs cart and teleport them arround with wisp, or throw them in with tiny as tactical nuke
