Awww thank you so much! I appreciate that more than you know. I truly try to talk as if I'm talking to the younger me and to tell him as honestly and direct as i can on what he's need to be ready for and stuff I wish I knew back then. Hope this video helped. God bless you!

This was my first year homeschooling my 8 year old and it was so hard. He is low functioning and nonverbal. At times I am so hard on myself because he just doesn't like learning or doing anything meaningful but this has been the happiest he's been ever. Thank you for this video.

Thank you for just verbalizing how I feel. Been there done that and am tired of feeling guilty. My son is happy and safe and I have no regrets either.

Husband and I have tried numerous places between school for Alexander and Stephanie, Alexander got to put the point he incorporative they wanted him drop out of school and go to his Autism therapy center full time , but my husband and I thought it wasn’t the right fit for him . The teachers at his public school both got their doctorate in ABA which was a benefit for Alexander and Stephanie. Kevin you are right every child is different and helping them life skills which I have learned so much with our children and life skills some scary some not. It’s all about looking at them as a person not for there disability. May God bless you and your family, give Jaiden a big hug 🤗

Can you share the tech apps you have found. My 13 yr old nonverbal autistic grandson? With covid I home school him but some days a workbook based program and lots of breaks doesn’t work some days.

From 18 months to 5 years old my son was an a special needs preschool then he began to go to the school that I grew up going to which is a very small Public School which still isn't perfect even though he has lots on his IEP. For two summers he went to a local private school for kids with language-based learning differences. Last year in March was when they closed the public School down and did virtual which did not work very well at all for him. This year in 10th Grade he goes everyday all day which is okay for now kind of LOL... I would love to homeschool him but I find myself doing a mix of public and homeschooling where I can. I'm just praying that he is prepared enough for life but I'm not quite sure.

My son is 14 non verbal and we are from New York. My son is opposite he started behavior tantrums during the covid shut down. He is sociable and loves going to school and interacting with other peers and staff. He actually wears his mask as well and is pretty good with that. I have been happy that our schools are reopened. I have visit Ohio recently because I have family out there and fell in love with Ohio. I was wondering if the transition would be difficult as he currently has SSI Medicaid through the OPWDD. I don’t want to let this scare me from moving because I really truly believe he can do very well out in Ohio. Any tips or advice. I currently have care manager here in New York wondering if they have home attendant services out there etc.
