I just traded in my '13 R/T for this car two days ago. 6 speed manual, the way to go. It was worth the wait (and the 800+ mile overnight drive!). A true muscle car in an amazing color. My 4 year old son will have the car one day.
@GMCman82 It was a 2010 Challenger R/T with the 6 Speed Manual (of course). Driving from Detroit, Michigan over the UP and down to Chicago and back again to Detroit I *averaged* 27 MPG on the highway and enjoyed every minute of it!
@GaryMHomes Much respect for driving a car like the Challenger SRT392 in the UK! I would bet that you are in a rare club . . . so much so that you should ask Lord March to have it at the Hill Climb at FoS!
@tenchichrono Thanks for the kind words. This week we have two new MotoMan Minutes and then next week will be episode 9 - which if you are a fan of the Elantra, something tells me you are going to love it. Stay tuned . . .
Just picked up a 2011 Toxic Orange 392. WOW!! Ralph was not lying at all. The car handles great for the size and the sound of that Hemi....let's just say very sweet!! Great video
Great Episode. I really like this format of casually interviewing "the coolest car company CEO" Ralph Gilles. Ripping it up on the twisties is just awesome. I'm not a dodge person by any stetch of the imagination, but this commands respect and appreciation. Dodge will attract many customers if they keep up the good work.
@MotoManTV - Come back to visit and I'll take you for a spin! I always knew I'd go back to a Dodge some day after my first. If the SRT392 lives up to all the great reviews, I can't see me changing this one for many years to come. Always happy to be Ralph's Challenger Ambassador in the UK!
@GaryMHomes When I lived there, the only modern day 'US Cars' I would see with any regularity were Corvettes and Mustangs. I am going to share your news with Ralph . . . I know he will get a kick out of it.
@andrestnt Hey! We are TOTALLY open to comparisons but as you can see we do things a bit differently here at MotoMan. We tell a story about cars. So if the story were to involve a comparison, then yes, absolutely. As for your second question: ABSOLUTELY! In fact, we have something very special lined up for the 302!
@Motoman - Used to being in a rare club. Been driving an Escalade EXT for the last 3 years, only one other of those in the UK I think. Before that had a Dodge Ram for 3 years. Never been more excited about a car before though than this SRT392!
Ralph’s parting words: “I’ll be long gone, but hopefully…Challenger is still here”. We’ll look at us know, he’s still here, but we’ve lost our Challenger and are losing our Hemis 😢
I like him...he didn't try to gloss over any of the problems they had in the past. They have 2 concept vehicles that could kill many competing vehicles... Chrysler...small clean diesels...way of the future...
@brett248vista Good to see that you are driving it as stated in Ralph's supplied manual: 'How to Properly Care & Feed your Challenger and scare Prius Drivers'.
To understand this car fully u really have to drive one. I am the proud owner of a 2011 challenger and the feeling you get from driving is crazy. Just to sit in and realize what you're driving; it's like getting it for the first time everyday. To look out over that long hood and to watch the people point and look in your rearview and see the people you just passed on the street do a double take, there's nothing like it. Mopar forever!!!!
@Motoman - Used to being in a rare club. Been driving an Escalade EXT for the last 3 years, only one other of those in the UK I think. Before that had a Dodge Ram for 3 years. Never been more excited about a car before though than this SRT392! I think that if a drophead comes out it should be a coupe convertible to retain the fine lines when the top is up!
Excellent video, Moto Man / Ralph Giles, I was set on Brilliant Black back in June 2011 until I seen this video around same time. Once I seen an Envy in person, I was hooked. :) any info. On a dealer installed supercharged for the prior 392 SRT8
Well it's been 3 years since this and still no convertible.. i'm not sure they're going to do one but it would be kind of cool to see one offered some day.
2 questions- Will you ever do car comparisons? Will you be driving the new Boss 302?- I imagine you could do something similar to, what you did for the camaro episode.
@MotoManTV Awesome. Now i think you show has more potential, and will like to see some comparison not in the "old fashion" sense. With the new ZL1 coming a comparison with the GT500 would be great, couple that with and explanation or question as to why did it became such an ICONIC rivalry, would make a good episode.
All indications are that, once the Barracuda is introduced, all performance focus will be on that. They may be built side by side for a year or two but I wouldn't expect any further dramatic improvements to the Challenger except maybe the possibility of an 8-speed.
I love the Challenger and own one. I have the 10 S/E. Could you ask Ralph Gilles if they plan on making more SXT Challengers in the future. To see my 10 Challneger check out other posts.
'fraid not. :) The triptonic, paddle shifters and MDS with better mileage won me over, over the thrill of bangin the gears and a couple extra horses. Also, I live in an overcrowded metropolis and most of my time with my last manual was spent rowing the lever up and down between red lights. Took all the joy out of that car.
Cup holders on the core support filler panel HAHA. Yeah, I did a double take on that as soon as I opened the hood at the dealer. Ordered an R/T Plus Redline which is currently in final inspection at the factory and can't wait to get my paws on it! (And I better not catch my tech setting his coffee there! lol)
@MotoManTV Big Mopar fan. If there is anyway to Pass on they need to try and drop weight 300lbs. The new steering wheel is better but it is not good enough. The one from the jeep looks better. Is there any contact information for suggestions to better their vehicles?
Great video - really nice to hear from the man at the top at Dodge as well as get the '10 versus '11 perspective from Motoman. Love the car but Green With Envy does not do it for me. I have ordered a black SRT8 392 which is currently on its way to me here in the UK.
cheapest ive seen one was 43 and 45k for the yellow jacket edition. one was manual and one was auto and there is a solid white one 3.5 miles from my house with 50k on the internet price and has 6k off of sticker rebate (up to 6k i mean) and i get $500 on dodge with my insurance company and the x-plan from my work that all stacks on rebates but i think ill get an r/t plus blacktop edition with the options i want and save about 15k
The cuda is going to be the performance model to compete with the zl1 and gt500. The concept looks a lot like the challenger. It should be a bit smaller, have dramatic weight reduction, and have a supercharged 392 hemi.
see they even say it in this vid: it isn't fair to compare a challenger to the corvette and mustang. if dodge wanted to race their car and compete, then that's what they would've done! But yet, they retain their dignity and made it a cruise car- no superchargers, no weight reduction, none of that.
I doubt it... the government with their MPG regulations... it's kind of like the children's book "if you give a mouse a cookie...". But, let's enjoy the machinery while we can.
For all the hype the Challenger had the reviews of it were very disappointing. It was slower and did not handle nearly as well as the other two competitors. I hope the reviews for this new Challenger demonstrate a more competent design.
the 4 cyl. might be an option but it was considered in a new dodge demon concept. the cuda is coming out as an SRT brand and its completely new from the ground up and i seriously doubt its going to be a 4 cyl and if there is, its going to be an option but they r coming out with an srt4 dart so i see no point in a 4 cyl cuda
Here it is 2020 and this 2011 Green with Envy Challenger still looks bad azz!

Ralph did say at our last Inside the MotoMan Studio at The Petersen that they are working on getting more power out of the 392 . . .

Nice choice . . . I *REALLY* hope you opted for the manual . . . You will enjoy it . . .

Love this insider info on the car industry! Keep it up! I'm on my way through the whole motoman catalog
Thanks man . . . We have A LOT for you to go through . . . . 240+ episodes with another coming tomorrow . . .
@Motoman - Used to being in a rare club. Been driving an Escalade EXT for the last 3 years, only one other of those in the UK I think. Before that had a Dodge Ram for 3 years. Never been more excited about a car before though than this SRT392!

they are starting to take these new era of chargers in the right direction

I have a 2013 Challenger RT. Best vehicle I ever owned. And yes bring on the convertible!!!
Awesome Awesome Awesome! Ralf is a Great Guy a Pure Car Guy. I Trust him To Do Well With The New Viper!
@Motoman - Used to being in a rare club. Been driving an Escalade EXT for the last 3 years, only one other of those in the UK I think. Before that had a Dodge Ram for 3 years. There should be more CEO's like Ralph Gilles! What a cool guy!
@GaryMHomes See you at Goodwood this summer!
I am officially green with envy.. Nice job MM.
Great information but that back ground music.🤕🔨🔨🔨
I have been waiting for a plumcrazy convertible to match my 71 plumcrazy convert!
PLEASE MAKE IT... AND SOON!!!
This mopar guy loves the direction Dodge is heading. Great Job. Btw. Ralph is Canadian and all Challengers are built in Canada by Canadians.
One can never have enough power . . .
I like the honesty from this dude, No visibility from the 300.... lol
If trends continue, the car may be around but the 470 HP may not . . . invest now!
Well it's been 3 years since this and still no convertible.. i'm not sure they're going to do one but it would be kind of cool to see one offered some day.
Agreed . . . I would LOVE to see one from the factory . . .

Wish they still had that color
New, these are a couple of Happy Meals shy of US$50,000.
When does episode 9 come out? :o Been waiting forever for the Elantra review and such. Thanks for your show Love it!
All indications are that, once the Barracuda is introduced, all performance focus will be on that. They may be built side by side for a year or two but I wouldn't expect any further dramatic improvements to the Challenger except maybe the possibility of an 8-speed.
This is one of the coolest ceo's
VERY GOOD EPISODE!
@dannydevito64 No official word yet but I am still forwarding Ralph all of your requests . . .

Buying mine this weekend
Yes sir ! Viper definitely on me bucket list. Does anyone know how many Green with Envy Challengers were made in 2011?
I have been holding off buying a Challenger, waiting for the convertible. BUILD IT.
@MotoManTV Big Mopar fan. If there is anyway to Pass on they need to try and drop weight 300lbs. The new steering wheel is better but it is not good enough. The one from the jeep looks better. Is there any contact information for suggestions to better their vehicles?
Still my dream car. Planning to get this same exact car/year/color :) just need to save up a little more money.

Green with envy is perfect color for challenger
The cuda is going to be the performance model to compete with the zl1 and gt500. The concept looks a lot like the challenger. It should be a bit smaller, have dramatic weight reduction, and have a supercharged 392 hemi.

Wish we had some of the Holden HSV stuff here . . . :)
You can't lose weight? It's what makes it a badass Muscle car, heavy and powerful as hell. What else is a car like this with a fucking 470 torq rating
see they even say it in this vid:
it isn't fair to compare a challenger to the corvette and mustang. if dodge wanted to race their car and compete, then that's what they would've done!
But yet, they retain their dignity and made it a cruise car- no superchargers, no weight reduction, none of that.
@ViperVenomACR I cannot wait for the new Viper

they are replacing the challenger with the cuda, which might have a stupid little four cylinder. muscle cars are dying.
Motoman is ANNOYING
