    @RawMaggots It is self-balancing in the forward-backward movement. The rider balances left and right by twisting it. The speed is controlled by leaning forward to go and back to stop.

  • @FLOABName
    @FLOABName 10 років тому

    well lets see. It has a component (the box under the seat i would guess) that senses the riders balance and leaning and helps to cancel it out by leaning the other way.

    @Segsby I know you love your Segway, but you have to concede some points. The SBU weighs 24lbs, is no wider than a pedestrian and has a price tag of only $1499. I'm not saying that the Segway doesn't have it's advantages too, it has plenty. You should be happy that there is another car alternative for green electric commuting which is much more affordable, easy to transport and safe for pedestrians.
    Can't the Segway and SBU be friends? They have the same goals and complement each other well.

    A coast on a unicycle is when you put both feet on the frame and it carrys on going... which is what your doing all the time with the SBU.. A Star coast is when you extend both legs in the air so that all your weight is going through your butt.
    Yeah, Kris Holm said he had a go on the Unicyclist forum. I'll defiently watch it when some one uploads it to the web!

    it'd be cool if it had handle bars to use as somewhere to put your hands because it looks awkward just letting your arms just dangle plus with handle bars i'd bet the learning curve would be a lot easier having acceleration and braking controlled from that like a regular bike or just something to pull and push so you don't feel like your going to fall off

    The trouble with all these new transportations is that your legs do no exercise.
    If you had something like this invention where you could also pedal, you could save battery, and get more blood circulation due to exercise.

    I would love one of these, looks like a fun way to get around, costs more than my motorbike however and furthermore I have a unicycle, it cost £80 and it is far greener than any EV, no really it is literally green! I'm getting better, I can see the day it becomes the way I make all those short journeys and as it's so compact I can carry it just about anywhere and it requires effort on my part to balance, move, turn or stop, more satisfying IMO and I could 20 for the price of 1self balancer
