Check the fan on your Hydro, it looks like you broke the blades off the fan around the 8:02 mark it looks as though all the blades are gone. So the noise you said you heard was probably a stick that took out the fan...pretty common problem it seems with these BX models. Course for the price of the machine you'd think it would come from the factory with some sort of guard in the first place.
Oh my gosh!!! I'm so thankful you pointed that out. You are absolutely right. Well, that's disheartening. Day late and a dollar short on that under armor. I guess I know what I'll be fixing next! Thanks again for the heads-up!
Great install video! It looked like the plate was hanging up on the nut and bolt at the front right (from under the tractor, otherwise drivers side). Also I noticed that your HST fan is destroyed. You mentioned you heard it make noise once and tried to get it shut down, but, unfortunately when it gets noisy it is too late. That underall seems to be a great product.
That plate sure does a nice job protecting the underbelly. The only thing that I would recommend is that at the front of that plate where it was catching that zip tie for the wiring I would insulate those wires by zip tying a piece of rubber or something around those wires so they don’t rub through on that plate from all of the vibration. Other than that I think it’s a great addition to the BX.
It is a very well made product. I am certainly going to do something to rectify the wire situation. Another viewer said the front of the plate may go in front of the nut it's hitting next to the wires. I'll get under there this week and tweak some things.
It's bending because the rear is hitting the transaxle housing when it raised into position. I have that problem with one I put on two days ago. I'll be calling BXpanded tomorrow to find out whether I installed it wrong. If not, I'll grind the plate for some clearance and probably do the front where the wires/hoses are and cover them as you suggested.
Works great but has to come off if you are running the mid mount mower, just so you know. I think there's another company that makes a skid plate that can remain installed even with the mower deck.
Excellent video. Looks like this will help lower the center of gravity of the tractor -- always a good thing. Did you get a chance to check if the plate should go in front of the nut?
There are no silly questions 😁 Yes, it connects to the same mechanism that raises and lowers the mower deck and it would be in the way of the mid pto 🤠👍
I got the skid plate for my BX.
It fit perfectly.
It is ALWAYS on my tractor when the mower deck is off 🤠👍

Thank you! Yes, it was this video that made me realize the fan was already broken. It has since been fixed and the under armor is doing its job 😁👍

When I get mine I will cut out a large notch for those wires that the front edge touches. I could see vibrations wearing away those wires
That's not a bad idea. I haven't had any issues, but better safe 🤠👍
Looks like that front plate should go in front of that nut , front plate was bending as you raised it up, another enjoyable video!
Thank you!!! I will try that. Friends helping friends is what this is all about.
I agree

Nice addition to tractor! Thanks for posting!
Have a great week!
Thanks for sharing I forgot that I was going to make one of these plates thanks for reminding me!!! Great video Well done!!! 😁👍
Great Video Sir!!! Keep the videos coming
Thanks! Will do!
Great video. Just came across the under armor for the bx and was wondering how it worked. Thanks!

It seems to be installed correctly. I've been using the tractor without issue.
Might be a silly question but do you have to remove it when installing the mower?
