the number 1 thing that made me a better ADC is: huge ego.
Im simply better, Im going to carry
but no, really, it opens me up to learn so much more efficiently and it just feels good, other than making me take riskier plays.

Im used to play standard rotation with green purple instead of blue green, is really that much better blue green?

Yes u can pump more damage early-mid game but in late game its good to have blue red and green purple

Blue Green is quite good before Blue Red becomes online (late game after building lifesteal)
It just deals burst damage when you proc marks. You can Blue Q the wave while hitting an enemy champion and you will deal a lot of damage to them when you proc the mark

theres a video explaining it by daynean, its really, really good. its not just the marks either but actually you can get out extra autoattacks before the marks go off too iirc
