- To help create a safer city, Philadelphia Police Department is holding a gun buyback event at Lincoln Financial Field on June 6 from 2-6 PM.
Each person who turns in an unloaded firearm to police on site receives a $100 gift card funded by the Eagles & the Center for Violence Prevention at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

1st off Whose gun is worth just $100? 2nd off In this day in age people should be exercising their 2nd amendment right. There's already gun laws in almost every major city and hows that working out? Criminals will always have guns. Disarming law abiding citizens is not the smart move.
Criminals have guns because they get them from states with little to no gun regulations….. Disarming the people of assault rifles is a smart move u have no need for a gun that is used in war for killing multitudes of people. U only really need a handgun for protection.

Great messages. Think that it comes down to being good role models, educating others on responsible gun use. Because it has been proven that people that were armed in cases of robberies and break ins of their homes, they were able to defend themselves. It should be isolated incidents that end well. But ultimately, you never want to see people on either side of the gun. No one should be intruding on others and committing crimes and no one should be in a situation where they have to pull a trigger to defend themselves. These recent mass shootings are a different story. It's deeper than guns. We have a people problem. We have poor mentoring and upbringing. Easy access for people that are not in a good mindset to do the right thing. It's in our nature, but it's how we control it that determines the outcome of our interactions with each other. No respect for others is why this happens among other things. Everyone has to do their part to respect ourselves and others.
