I told people that Devon was more liable to gas out. The gap in strength means that Devon has to exert far more effort. That round 1 depleted Devon.

What Devon has done for the sport arm wrestling is amazing. Remember he is approaching 50. After 30 your body loses 1% muscle mass a year. He’s kept himself in amazing condition we’re he could compete for best arm wrestler in the world. That s a hell of an effort!
As long as Devon keeps up with the stem cells, PEDs, training etc, he could continue to compete until he's 60! I hope he doesn't drop to heavyweight straight away, there are still some cool matches he could have in the superheavy division.

I was listening to a play by play and lost my mind when they said "Devon stops Levan in middle of the table." It was nothing like I had envisioned. Levan didn't explode to the pad like we usually see. I think he may have been feeling things out to see if he needed to prepare for a long, drawn out battle or just smash Devon.
I think Devon got a legitimate stop on Levan, as they battled pronation vs pronation. After the first round Levan made a technical adjustment and targeted the rest of Devon's hand which just wasn’t anywhere near the same level. Devon has dedicated so much time and effort into strengthening his pronation, that is the one vector in which he can match Levan.
No one has ever stopped Levan like that r1. Keep your head up high Devon 💪💪

I did it and the Devon fanboys massacred me with insults and mockery (which didn't make me feel hot or cold), they were very convinced of Devon's victory, however we are still at the point that the only one who in 7 -8 years gave a match to Levan and Gasparini, (in fact I said that Devon would have had a chance if he had Gasparini's back pressure, but unfortunately he doesn't have it). Trust me, they were wild and very convinced until 2 hours ago...

Levan never lost his wrist by force he wanted to contain devon and flop press on the first round instead of needing to do it when he was gassed it was a tactical move. Proof is levan never lost his wrist after the 1 st round because he gave it away to test.
I think it was just a technical adjustment after the first round. He went pronation vs pronation with Devon in the first round and they proved to be about equal in that particular vector. After that Levan targeted Devon's fingers, cupping and wrist flexion which folded like tissue paper.
I think round 1 Levan tried to hit for position before going for the pin (as he used to always do), but he couldn't do that against Devon. Subsequent rounds he switched to going straight for the pad which worked. That's my opinion

What I saw in round 1 was that Levan did try to flash pin Devon, but he kinda miss the beginning of the round, so he had to hold the surge of Devon instead. He did that comfortably, untill he decided his strategy to win that round the easiest way and conserve all his power for the rest of the match.

Good news flash. Thanks for the update. Congrats to Levan and I salute Devon for doing everything he could to prepare himself for this match.
Man, in the first roudn Levan did not lose his wrist by Devon pronator, he was holding him because he did not gripped well, certanily Devon stopped in the center, but Levan just finished him by pressing him, in that moment Levan had to lose his wrist in order to press Devon who his arm was completenly strightened up under the table. Devon had no chance to win this match but certaninly he got a bit stronger. Levan leveled up as well, he reiterated he was his best version, so the gap still was huge like the fisrt time.
Yeah all the setups were hugely in Devon's favor, the first round especially. In that first round Devon tried to use back and side pressure but Levan completely stonewalled him. Devon's pronator held up though, at least temporarily. That straight arm King's Move was disgusting, should have been called sooner, shit like that can change the course of a match by gassing out an opponent.

Devon is still unbelievable he dominated multiple different weight classes he has won a hammer in each arm he's 49 now levan is 35 and 115lb more than Deven that weight advantage is just to much id love to see levan drop to a lower weight class and see if he can win with out his weight advantage devon has won in 3 different classes levan just has weight on everyone and alot of it

Round one was not a stop. Levan tried doing to Devon on the right what he did to the left. Hold, contain, gas Devons hand, but it was stupid because the right hand of Devon and his pronator is just different. So the rest of the rounds he did what he couldve done in that first round, flash pin.

We gotta give it to Devon for his heart and fight. He clearly exerted and exhausted himself to hold Levan for so long in the first round
Levan had come back even stronger from his injury and not just his strength... He even worked on his stamina as well as using techniques like flop press which were totally unseen in his previous matches with other arm wrestlers
Levan asked Devon if he wanted another match in two years, when Devon is 50. I'd pay to watch that match! Devon didn't seem keen, though. 😢
This turned out like I thought it would. What Devon does is amazing, and all the static lifts and pronation stuff is great, but at the end of the day, he's NOT a super heavy weight, and has always fought the idea of devoting himself to becoming one. There's a reason Levan does bench press and trains like a power lifter. It matters.
Is there anything he could do to beat Levan, probably not, but I would have at least tried to show up with another 30 pounds of muscle at least. He may be too ild to do that. He looked like he'd dropped 10 pounds in the last few weeks. When he showed up looking light, I knew this was over. Devon had a blind spot when it comes to strength training, he would have done well to work w a trainer that could have needed him up. The future of arm wrestling comes out of power lifting.
The only shocking thing is how CLUELESS so many pros were at calling this match. Many thinking it would be close, some actually picking Devon to win.
There should be another weight class for levan. Sometimes heavier weight is everything you need than strength and technics.
Like you cannot move a rock weight one ton- it is not because that rock is stronger than you but it's much heavier than you:)
Devon is master in strategy to choose time and plafe when he can win.. like va Ciplenkov and Gasperini.. but Levan is something else

I said it over and over that Levan can press, as long as he's in a winning position. Even if his wrist is lost, he has the strength and weight to run through to the pin and this would also save him alot of energy... instead of hanging on and wasting energy like he did with Ermes.

Too much power difference.. Devon got gassed after round 1..holding levan for 15 secon took everything out of him

Devon probably had a better setup due to Levan generosity during refree's grip and that compromised Levan's wrist in a way he couldn't go sideways otherways he would have lost his wrist which happened.
You can see how uncomfortable he was while thinking about what to do in the centre.

Levan looked in a lot better shape than he was with Ermes. Devon needs to arm wrestle in his own weight class,there I don't think anyone can touch him. Need to talk Brian Shaw into arm wrestling and let Devon train him for 2-3 years. Brian Shaw is in levans weight class and would be a good match.
