'Me And My Golf' Play an LA Muni

- Me And My Golf (Piers Ward and Andy Proudman) teach hundreds of thousands of golfers around the world through social media. When they arrive in Los Angeles, they meet Erik Anders Lang at Penmar Golf Course, a little 9-hole track in Venice, California. They also meet Craig, a golfer who is about to play his first ever round of golf.
-
Between chewing on Penmar's famous banana pancakes and watching Craig play his first round, Piers and Andy talk origins of Me And My Golf, interact with the locals, give a few tips, and enjoy a relaxing and entertaining round at one of Los Angeles' busiest public courses.

How in the world did you get them to play without them wearing matching outfits?
Michael Riley also was wondering this.
Piers forgot to do the washing!
I was also thinking this. Madness
@@meandmygolf. Don't worry I don't that anyone noticed and the ones who did won't tell a soul, honest lol
literally my first thought
Hard to explain how a 11 min UA-cam video is able to uplift my spirit so easily and just enjoy being around a golf community of genuine people and their love for the game. Thx for adding YOUR dimension to the golf community
My exact thoughts! EAL really knows how to tug at the heartstrings of a golfer.
Amen brother!
Yup.., I felt that too. Great vid!
Well said Jan.
Yes yes yes
This is so cool.
Capturing someone's first ever golf course experience. Absolute gold dust... Was so much better than just meeting me and my golf
Can't really explain it, but I was smiling the whole time watching this one.
Same, the smile never left my face and even some tears shed and yet I don't golf. Pretty much becoming an empty nester. My kids played golf (it was their sport)... I took them to a friend that would help them become better at golf but he assured me that through his instructions they would also become better at life. I've walked so many miles of this sport, filmed hundreds of hours of video so my children could self correct after viewing and to see this video brings me back to ground zero. Was emotional on all levels. He has found the birthplace of why golf is great.
agree. smiles the entire time
You are truly the Anthony Bourdain of the golf. The world will never deserve you, yet always know how thankful we are for how kind you are and how you envision the game of golf. It's much less about the score and so much more about the people and courses your surrounded by. Sincerely, A junk yard course player in North Carolina.
This is a great comment and I completely agree
Love watching Eriks videos when he plays on LA Munis because he just seems so at home, relaxed, and happy. Good for him and god bless LA Munis hahaha
This episode made me go down memory lane with my first round of golf with my dad at Nellis Air Force Base. I've been playing ever since!
the moment when you get told a guy has never played golf before.... playing the group in front of you
😂😂😂
gon be a longgggg day lol
These guys have helped me with my game more than I could ever imagine. I will be watching their channel for years to come
All the guys from two of the best youtube shows ever all on one show. Awesome!
Have you watched the guys from TXG at all? Different format and content, but they know they're stuff
@@maddad4767 Club reviews are boring man. It is not hard to find them on the internet. EAL is original content.
Class vid from start to finish, really showed what Golf should really be...fun,inclusive,affordable and accessible to all...loved how, even though they're the biggest noise on UA-cam golf, you didn't brown nose Andy and Piers and the video was all the better for it. Great work Eric, golf needs more exposure like this...The European tour should pull their finger out and get you on board ASAP! 🎥👏👏
That line at the end to Craig was vintage EAL - I've been playing the game for 8 years and all I had today was true bogeys. This man knows how to relate to everyone. Pure class.
I smiled for ALL 11 minutes and 15 seconds. You just captured a whole golfing community right there: young & old, novice & veterans. Too good.
This is art ..I love everything about this video . I love that you included everyone in such a warm way . The woman you were playing with was so real and genuine.it felt like I was there also
Top 5 EAL video .... Playing a local 9 hole, true beginner being welcomed into the game of golf. Truly down to earth.
Andy and Piers seem like such cool guys, I really enjoy their videos, as well as yours Erik.
I hit like before watching it... only 1 minute in...Dig it
hard not to just accept that it is going to be awesome content from EAL... i do the same thing with all his content!
This made me feel incredibly wholesome. Many thanks.
Dudes first round ever meets 3 legends! What the ever living EFF! Some people have all the luck!😂
He may well have peaked right there to be fair. Lol
and he had no clue who these cats were , love it
Penmar by the Sea! Used to be my neighborhood course! A plane crashed just off the course while I was playing and months later Indiana Jones crashed his plane there on the long par four. Love this course! Thanks EAL!
Real; and great. ❤️👍🏼 Thank you 🙏I would like more please.🤞
An awesome way to experience your first round. Awesome video.
Magic stuff right there. Great production
you know you are onto something when none of the first 500 thumbs on a video are facing down
thank you for posting your videos Erik! keep it up!!!
Erik I wish you could play a round with me and my buddies at my local course on long island. You're the coolest guy in golf right now, and your videos always cheer me up and get me through those day to day blues. Thank you!
My first round of 18 hole real golf was on st Patrick's day at Los Verdes LA with my two Irish and Mexican brothers and we played with another pair of brothers who were also Irish and Mexican it only took 7 hours and 3 shots of Jameson each and I've been playing since
It's really cool having listened to the pod and now watching the video. So cool.
That squirrel had some serious nuts.
Really well edited video. I love Andy and Piers' channel. It's helped me with several aspects of my swing. Glad you got together with them! Cheers
If Piers and Andy are only playing 12 rounds per year, they're doing it wrong. I don't care how busy you are, you are in the golf industry and you love golf. Get out there and play.
Yeah unfortunately that’s not how the golf industry works especially as an assistant pro we get on round a week on mondays when the club is closed unless there is a section event to play in
I also work in the golf industry and i play maybe 15 rounds a year. If you want to play golf then working with golf is not a good idea. Especially in Sweden where there is a golf season of maybe 6-7 months. You end up working 125% during that time and a bit less in off season when you can't play golf.
EAL hands down the best golf content. Ive watched tons of videos on you tube EAL is best at capturing what golf is about.
AMEN
Erik, your videos are awesome. I love how you highlight Muni courses and connect to us 'regular' recreational players. I believe, the key to growing the game is more exposure like this. Well done!
this is the real reality TV. Unscripted, un-sensationalised, and honest. Nice work
Another Dope video pure and true
Great video
You guys are absolutely killing it! The content being produced is getting better and better each episode. Love the story and the creativity. Almost 550 likes with 0 dislikes. Impressive stuff.
Shoutout from oxley park!!!
Great video
That squirrel didn't have to luck far to find some nuts
Andy's swing on the ace cam was just pure golf porn. So cool you got to do this collab, would like to see another, longer one!
These guys are the best TEACHERS of the golf swing that I’ve seen because they really break it down, their drills are very well explained and simple, and they really seem to be patient.
haven't really thought about my first day on the course till i watched this, for years as a kid i would play the local par 3 not even knowing there was par 4 and 5s in existence let alone one tee box away from where i would play with my friends. sometime once i was getting a little good my dad thought i wouldn't be too much of an embarrassment to take me on the regulation. we played the back 9, nothing spectacular about the first hole i ever played but to this day #9 its my favorite hole to play. there is always that same feeling lingering when i step up to that tee box now. on that day my dad birdied #14, i still remember where the pin was and now whenever i see it over in that back left corner below a rolling hill of the green i try to play it like he did, every time. I don't know how but that day is fully apart of me.
You are the most gregarious golfer in the World probaly Eric. Your personality shines and lights up the greatest game.
Bunch of legends right there 🙌🏼
true balls of that nice women who they played with! Playing with 3 legends, I would probably miss the ball!
I am glad to see that Erik wasn't late for his tee-off time :)
That looked like so much fun
Erik your video's are world class. Keep up the good work. Love it when your with your friends in the UK. I actually love it when your not too.
haha gotta love mary lou!
I'm so glad I came across this video! I'm from Chicago but have played Penmar many times. My parents retired to Santa Monica in '78, so I spent a ton of time visiting them over the years. My dad was always an avid golfer, and Penmar became his home course. He and I played many, many rounds together there where he knew everybody. He and I even paired up with Charles Bronson and his son one time! It's really a timeless place in LA that I miss since my dad died in '07 and we moved my mom back to Chicago in 2018 until she died 18 mos later. I'll forever have a soft spot in my heart for Penmar!
I used to play higher end courses when I moved to an area without a true muni network. In LA right now and hitting up Roosevelt tomorrow at 6am after stumbling on your video there. Getting back into the game after a 7-8 year layoff and planning to play more of the great municipal courses when I'm on the road for business. Thanks for bringing these great courses to light - they show that golf can be a game played by everyone. Great work!
Thanks again EAL. Just a few minutes of pure joy
It is so cold here in the mid-west, negative 10 degrees and we got 8 inches of snow this weekend. I liked that you got paired up with Mary Jo. Imagine what she told her friends after, "I got paired up with some dude with a camera and 2 gents from the UK". I also am trying to remember the first time I played a round of golf. I was 8 years old, it was a local 3 hole tournament at a muni golf course. I finished dead last place I think. I got hooked, I would hack around the yard and neighborhood the next few years w my junior clubs until I was old enough to ride my bike to the local parks and recreation course pulling my dads clubs/cart behind me for 9 holes.
I am confused why was there a guy speaking over a microphone on a golf course telling people where to go?
These videos play like great short movies. New sub, can't stop watching⛳
As much as I love seeing videos of amazing courses where big tournaments are played, I do much prefer seeing this kind of thing, playing public courses that probably are pretty cheap for green fees with normal people, much more what golf is about for me
Penmar is a great little par 3. Witnessed my brother ace #5. It was a screeching worm burner that appeared to skip over the green but smacked the pin and fell in. He's a lucky dog.
WHAT ARE THOSE!!!... LOOKING AT PIERS LEGS... LOL
Good news.....Nice to see support for public golf.
Bad news....Orange County Board of Supervisors voted last March to close one of the courses at Mile Square Golf Course.
I hope we can save public golf for everyone, not just for the country club set.
My two favorite UA-cam channels 🤘🏼🤘🏼
You've only been playing for 8 years?
Yep!
At 8:36 when Colt was chasing that squirrel, it looks like he curled up into a ball and then Colt kicked him, but I honestly think it was a mushroom. Did anyone else replay this a few times?
Honestly.. heard of you, hadnt seen any of your material but this truly is quality content, hands down.. 👌🏽 How do the stories come to you?
If your ever in the Houston area, reach out 👌🏽
A good friend of mine startet playing this year and he already has two birides! It took me way longer than that :D
How did me and my golf get a AP sponsorship is what I want to know? Thats awesome
You didn’t warn the newbie about what he was getting himself into?! Hours of frustration, time, money wasted? Jk. Beautiful video illustrating how we all share a passion for the game.
and he's a friend of the pod! :D
Hi Erik, when are you boys going to come and play the Golf Coast in the NW of England. Royal Liverpool, Royal Birkdale, Hillside, S & A, Hesketh, Wallasey and Formby Ladies to name a few. You will not believe how many great courses there are on one stretch of coastline. PS love all of your videos, cool, casual, informative and class without trying to hard. Keep up the solid work.
Now fans in Scotland get a glimpse of public golf in Los Angeles. Good job!
Scotland was great. I hope we'll see your trip to Royal Dornoch soon.
For those looking for great golf at a reasonable price in LA, introduce your followers to our local public George C. Thomas courses. The same guy who brought us Riviera, Bel Air, LA North, also designed the very accessible public Harding, Wilson and Ojai. These 1920s courses relied more on nature than bull dossers. I believe Old Tom Morris liked his designs.
I love the difference of bite size between Erik and me and my golf. The brits are taking small bits and chewing throughly but Erik as half a pancake primed and ready on his fork.
You Sir, are the Coolest man in Golf...Congrats on furthering the game. I look forward to watching more of your engaging content.
His first Round.. I admit, I got emotional. Dude, I hope you enjoy and hate every Step of the Journey ahead of you as much as I did. I haven't had a bad round of golf ever, although I scored badly. Good luck, Padawan.
Erik this is probably my favorite video of yours so far in my viewing history. REAL, GENUINE, NATURAL. Great job amigo. Safe Travels
I love the videos, such great quality. Thank you.
What would you think about reviewing some old historic golf tournaments like the 1997 Masters? Might be cool, just a random thought
You can tell Mary Lou had the time of her life with you guys
A little gem of a video. Encapsulates everything that is great about the game and the people.......and the pancakes..wow! Great work dude.
Great content and another top notch video edit.
My fav part as when he used a long spoon to serve pancakes.
great stuff again my guy... the dichotomy of these two chaps at Penmar is fantastic. That's like taking me to The Madison Club!
I played my first ever round 2 weeks ago, my second round today and your right. You’ll never get that feeling back of that first ever tee shot
Just absolutely love how this video's focus shifted on the fly without ever taking any of the sheen or spotlight from having the MaMG guys there
Dude, what a fun video! Loved everything about it. I wish I could remember my first round.
Man, where were you when I had my first round? !😂 I would have felt less bitter about the round, great video guys
The roots of golf... fun and smiles
The roots of golf... fun and smiles
Thank christ they weren't wearing the same kit as each other, they look ridiculous dressed the same.
Awesome to see a mashup of my two favorite YT golf channels, well done!
The best golf video ever! 👍🏼
just listened to the cast, came home and watched this right away...well done as usual
Love your work man. You have something that no one else has. More of that please 👍
Now this is a hell of a combo.
What a great f’n video. Thanks for the entertainment. These vids are dope af.
Chemtrails !!!
Can't help but smile watching your videos man
Friend of the POD!
Should've made the My Golf boys carry their bags
Might be one of my favorite vids yet. Good work Erik
Mr. Erik Anders Lang, you just made my day!
So cool that you got to see Craig finish out his first round ever!
Erik is living the life and I'm truly jealous!
