A scene from "The Women's Suffragettes" - a play which was devised and written by Alfie James as part of a community heritage and theatre project in London. The project aimed to explore the story of the women's suffragette movement in the UK - the struggles which the women faced, the impact it had on their families lives and the long-term impact it had upon our society.
Inspired by Emmeline Pankhurst's Direct action speech, we decided to create our own protest poem as part of our performance piece.
