And yes, I know, my mike gain was too high. Too many of my braincells were fried by hauling all this garbage to be able to notice, I apologize.

(Do agree about only the top half getting the cargo rack, really should give us the tech broker unlock like they did with the C4 for hitting tier 6)
It about time we had another hauling CG! We are not all combat pilots! This is just Fighter jock mentality.
so whole community benefits from axi group who fight against invasion, but only big haulers benefit in rewards that axi group actually need to efficiently fight thargoids?
i am equipped with big hauler and will get reward, but not fair to those who never had such ship and have no chance to get in to the 50%...
and that is second issue, even if there is thousands of haulers only half will get reward. will you personally say oh well, i did try, i spent 35 hours hauling but those guys with 40 hours spent beat me and i just wasted my time?
I agree. But other commanders think the same of 1.5 years of blowing up Thargoids. It's just the same punishing game loops over and over again. What have we done wrong? Break free! Don't let FDEV control what you do in the game. Blaze your own trail... 😉
Problem is everything is made to be annoying as fuck.
And FDev is about as creative as... I don't know, but I'd be insulting this whatever by the comparison.
I've seen so many cool and interesting designs for new Goids around the community, and all FDev could do is Glaive (shitty gameplay 101) and Scythe (they exist... I guess)... where's the implied Tachi? And new stuff? On foot Goids? Interesting new additions?
But remember to buy ARX, CMDRs, because that's what matters!

Feel free to skip it, if you don't fancy it. It's not mandatory.
Nobody is taking anything away from you and, worst case scenario, everything stays the same.
It’s not the fact that you can easily skip the community goal. It’s the fact that FDEV comes up with lame events in the first place expecting the players to be excited about it. We’re looking for exciting and worthwhile community goals that’s not boring and don’t seem to be a waste of time.
The rewards are exclusive modules that are useful and unobtainable any other way 🫠

The whole AX community had been working hard on taking Indra down.
Then with out any break for anyone to take a breath.
They dropped a very grindy CG on the community.
For a module that is immensley useful to any AX player...

Maybe have some empathy for those that did...
its about whoever participate in cg HALF will be left without reward. that is what is shit in this particular case. i personally will get that rack, but i know people who never had hauling ship and now they cannot compete with me and have no chance to reach the goal and be in 50%...
in short, this is NOT community goal, this is competition and slap in the face to those who dedicate time and effort to fight invasion and they are the one who need that rack the most.
Counter Opinion: After a long couple of weeks, I am so ready to veg out on a friday night just running cargo back and forth and listening to a podcast or two.

I don't think only 3 hours will get you in the top 50% the break point is likely to be over 10k tons delivered... :(

I dunno, I'm enjoying the break and getting back to my space trucker roots. Sometimes it's nice to just veg out and haul some cargo. I'm not mad at it, but the 50% part is meh

MEchan and other AX are thinking themselves too important ... need to pushed back into place and reminded that Elite is NOT about AX combat only.
@@kurka1186bombing 4 or 5 times is fun. But repairing your hull for 10 minutes after spending 2 heatsinks to evade a glaive that caught you before even being in laser vent range is mind numbing too

But it's fun for some players. For example, I found out that there are missiles knocking out a shield generator, when my Cutter was attacked by Cobra named 'DontShootNoRebuy' in open🙃
I wasn't around for the first 6E Corrosion Rack so I've been hauling. Currently in Top 10.
how many units have you delivered? iv delivered over 7000 and only in top 50%

As of now Top 10 is 38k to 71k according to Inara, Top 50% is 4700 to 9400

Agreed. Also I despise this 'we offer this module for a limited time if you jump through these hoops. And to really annoy you, you may still not get it' anti-player attitude of FDEV. Especially when it's inconsistent. Either do it across the board for all CGs, or don't.
My disappointment here is not seeing a combat fork of the same CG like they sometimes do, to give players a choice. I'm all for hauling CGs, and adding more thargoid impact for non combat pilots. But you're right, I don't wanna be hauling right now.
I have been checking the numbers and the 50% is based on the number of players and the goal or amount done. the middle of the 50% range is the average tonage given the goal if reached or amount reached. I believe it is possible to figure out the amount needed to get the 50% reward and if everyone did the average and no more, almost everyone (cuz of partial tons involved) can get the reward. I am not done with the math to find the range of 50% but the middle is the total turned in divided by the number of contributors.
The fact that the goal isn't made for general access is the biggest dumbest decision this month!
CG’s all the time, it’s not punishment it’s the grind as usual
if nothing else, the developer has always shown the community that they think mindless grinding is the fun part of the game. seeing as how 90% of the game is exactly that, and little else.
As much as I like space truckin', I don't like having to compete with other truckers [AND THEIR EXPENSIVE FLEET CARRIERS] to get the 'real' rewards. Why would you reward the players with the most cargo space, credits and free time instead of incentivizing everyone to contribute when and what they can with community goals? Space truckers will do fine, but the fighter pilots who want the corrosion resistant racks.... are usually NOT the space truckers who ace these goals...

Three hours? I suspect it will be far far more. Esp if we want to get to the tiers that will unlock it.
If you have a Fleet Carrier you don't need anti-caustic cargo racks because the caustic damage stops once docked, and you store the caustic materials in your FC.
This only x% of the players get the reward was always cancer. That is the reason why I rarely do CG.
This seems like an odd take on the CG. It's fine if people aren't interested in hauling just like it's fine for those CMDRs who aren't interested in AX combat. There has been a significant focus on the Thargoid War for over a year and a half now and while i have thoroughly enjoyed engaging with it, i would also relish the opportunity to take my Type 9 out for some hauling action. FDev have the constantly difficult task of trying to please all sections of the games community. I love many aspects of the game different play options and if I were in a position to be active for this CG especially with the AX useful module reward I'd be out there hauling like mad right now. Sadly due to R/L health issues im forced to sit this one out.
They clearly wanted to give people a reason to test out the new Type 8 that just launched next month. I mean, 8/7 in American format for general release of Python mk 2 will likely coincide with Type 8 for Arx, and that's obviously before 13/7 in rest of world format. yay.
It would be nice to have a size 6 Corrosive Resistant Cargo Rack, but I've never needed anything over size 4. Not only that, this CG is moving so quickly, that by the time I'm ready to jump it, it's like going to nearly over.
It would be nicer to have the extra cargo for limpets too. More than just the 16 from the size 4
You're not exaggerating and I respect your honesty, I can haul Bertrandite to Happis in Miphifa for 50 million credits, I only have to do one or two trips for that kind of cash. I don't see the incentive to carry out a community goal that pays far less than what I can get during regular gameplay in Elite Dangerous, I'm just not motivated to take part.
The only thing that bothers me is that the reward is limited to the "top" 50%. -_-
American and Euro Truck Simulator do this 1 Million % better:
- do at least 10 hauls (granted, you do not have different cargo capacities; ever Truck hauls the same amount of cargo, in the term of the CG)
- if you want more rewards, the community AS A WHOLE has to move a certain amount.
This way you incentivize players to do what ever they can, but not at the expense of one another - rather to complement one another. :D
It's kind of like they put capitalism upside down... and people do work even MORE!
... and they ENJOY IT! ;)
FDev makes us fight other players... instead of the system. :P
They don't even _understand_ the alternative. o_o

totally agree, at the minimum it should be the top75%, but would be even better to say if the goal is reached players who delivered more than X tons will get Y reward.

I have been doing a lot of BGS stuff for the faction I support as well.
I would love to have that size 6 rack.
But after all of my other activities, I need a little bit of a break from the grindy stuff...
Why after people have been so busy doing other things do they choose to hit us with this very grindy CG now?

Normally I would easily manage to get into the top 50% of this sort of CG.
But their timing is terrible!
Plus as Mechan says, why do 50% need to fail???

I ask myself what this shit is supposed to mean that only a fixed percentage can ever get the rewards from Community Goals. As soon as I heard about that I said "Fuck it" and absconded from participating, I want a doable challenge and not a fucking competition.
I feel tthis way last community event as it was the first one i partook in.. Why was there a competition, it feelt so weird
@@elvfrem It's also unfair to people with less time who're not swimming in hundreds of millions of Space Cash and don't own a ship able to fit a decent amount of Cargo Racks. Last thing I want in my timer after work to get mad because I just hauled one less container and missed the reward by 0,1% 😂

@@shadowmystery5613 Yeh 100%. I never seen this type of race before in any mmo i played, and its been quite a few. Its only elite that does this sort of community race.. Like if you want pvp, just make a pvp event. Not this.. This isnt how its done.
It defeats the entire purpose and makes new players feel even more leftout than they are already.
Elite should help new players, not punish them for trying to interact and partake.
Imagine being such a 1% player that you think approachable gameplay is worse than impossible stuff like AX combat

My thoughts exactly, I would have liked to see another option to the CG like combat like the last one. Hauling crap only seems punishing!
With every Engineer, scientist and so many others wanting recovered Thargoid bits for months now, anti-corrosion cargo racks should be readily available in all sizes, not just 1 & 4. I mean if you can make one you can easily make them all. But then what has reason and logic got to do with what FDev do? At the very least give it to all participants.
Oh and please speed up the unloading process counter. It's sooooooooo slow. How about a 'Sell All' button?

Elite is something for everyone. Not just for the space truckers, or AX, or anything else. You can never please everyone, but you can always complain and know better and then miss the point. What's the point of that anyway?

Seriously, I have nothing against this type of cargo transport task in a GC... I just wish that, like other CGs, there was simultaneously a combat CG, protecting transports from pirates for example, with a similar reward.
That way it would be much more inclusive.
But maybe that's too much to ask, it must be too much work...
Personally, I'm hoping for more hauling CGs. I'm hoping for more non-AX content in general tbh.
This CG is the "We are delayed with PP2.0, and extended the politics events for 2 years, but take this 🩹CG to mantain the embers alive another 2 months ". And I have the fear than if we work very hard in this war, another 30 alerts will appear to slowdown until we reach FDev schedule, and Im opposed to this and working against FDev agenda.

Sorry man, garbage take. I'm enjoying the break from the highly engineered, skill dense loop of attacking the Titans and combat zones to go do some simple space trucking. You're not interested in it? Great, don't do it; no need to put it down publicly. Elite has revolved around the war for the past year and a half, with more new content for it than anything else in the game so don't try to act like you've been neglected. But anyway, glory, to mankind, and thanks for your extensive contributions to the front line
I mean if the rewards were just the silly SRV paint job, I’d have zero issues with it. But, alas, they put up one of the most elusive modules for AX - the 64t CRCR. Which makes no sense whatsoever for a hauling CG. Which more than warrants a public takedown considering only half of participants will get it.
@@Astyrrean only half getting it does suck. CMDRs with alts should all go haul a single unit. I haven't done any sampling, but if it were deemed to be helpful and I had one of these racks, I'd load up my Cutter and give it a try. I suspect CMDRs who make an effort but then fall short could send a love note to FDev and still get the reward...
not everyone wants combat only missions. this game is for any types of players. Don't like the activity don't do it, many other things to do in the game
