Testing the S4/S5 boards on the bench is easier when using the FTU ROMS, you don't get the errors on boot, but you'll still need to make up some wiring to cycle through the tests and a way to monitor the output of each test, pretty much like the proper FTU does, but those things are super rare.
Hi, thanks for the video. I have a scorpion 4 with psu err56. I read online to replace the varta battery. I've just ordered one. But your video suggests it might be the power supply in the PC? What do you think?
MAGIK please can you help i have a scorpion 4 board keeps saying error 26 reel 6 which resister is or transister is please that i need to replace thankyou
Hi. I have a scorpion 4 board in my fruit machine. Self test is fine on every menu and it all works perfect with a door open (in free play) but close door and after initializing and doing all its checks it alarms with on/off alm48 on the display. I've checked power supply, switches, wiring etc but now lost! Board looks immaculate with a new battery 2 years ago and no corrosion, any ideas please?
With an Error 48 you'll need to power it up with all doors closed and let the alarm go. It should silence after about 1 min but the error can remain on the display for some time. Just leave it turned on and it should clear.
Hi. I left it on for around 2 hours and it still wouldn't reset. Shall I leave it on longer? It works fine on free play and self testing only shows Alm48 error in log. There's not a lot of information on alarm 48 such as what generates it and what components are responsible for the alarm and where is the alarm input/output is on the mpu board. Thank you for your reply. Any information would be really appreciated.
@@vanman2799 that error code just means the machine has been reset either by losing external power or a fault on the board or PSU. Too many resets in a short time causes this error. If the error does not clear then all I can think of, is it must be resetting when you have it left. Scorpion 4's are notorious for having bad connections on the PSU to main board loom. You could try cleaning the pins on the MPU with an emery board and IPA if you have any and try it again.
Hi. I dropped all the pins out of the loom plug and cleaned each pin. I also cleaned power supply pins but it's still the same. Is it worth purchasing a new Scorpion 4 board? Power supply voltages are spot on and constant. I'm unsure if the previous owner has messed about with the Scorpion 4 board DIL switches. If he had then could that cause an on/off Alm48 error?? First two switches are on and the other 14 are off. Many thanks for any advice.
@@vanman2799 The switch config is mostly the same between games, but these would have no effect on the On/Off alarm. When you power on the machine and the alarm sounds, if you leave it for a few mins does the sound stop ? Once it stops you need to leave it on, unit the error clears off the screen. If the alarm sounds again, check the screen and see what the code is.

its missing 24v line.
Thabks, are you referring to yours or mine? I have 4 stable green LEDs on the scorpion board..
@@vincenoble2611 youll have a fault in the psu detection circuit then. look for signs of corrosion near middle of board.
Thanks, yes. There is definitely corrosion in the negative battery terminal. I'll start with battery replacement.

Show me both on rig.
MAGIK np the one most likely won't boot back up now but see the other does not show up the lamp fault too well in a machine you can tell
Do you have a source for the Samsung displays?
Do you repair machines ?
