    Hi Jodie. Usually for stains/mould on walls, I put a coat of white shellac to the area before putting a primer on. The results of repainting the room are very nice, and the peach colour fits the room.

    • @jodie_boo
      @jodie_boo  Місяць тому +14

      The two coats of white emulsion seems to have done the tricky, can't see any staining through it :)

    Jodie usually the bottom trim is taken off when changing out the carpet to laminate as flooring needs to go slightly under the trim, then the trim is put back on. The peach colour will go even darker over time as well.

    Little arm saver tip for the next time you paint walls and the ceiling. Find a roller with a long handle. It will allow you to keep your arms at, basically, waist level while doing the ceiling and the top half of the walls. As someone with a ton rotator cuff in my right shoulder and a bad right elbow, that long handle roller is a pain saver.

    Hi Jodie! Hi Biscuit Lady! Hi Key!
    Ah, yes, this takes me back to when we renovated our first home. I had to sand down the guest room to take the sharp bits off the texture. Of course, I did that by hand. :) I am not allowed near power tools.
    I am old and broke down now so can only do things on the computer or in my lap. That is a sneaky way of saying that my desk is small and packed.
    Normally I am in favor of natural wood, but not in this case! Too much pain!

    I would have called the color of the 4th wall more like wet sand than pink, but then again, sometimes color can be distorted through the camera lens or editing software. What it far more important is that you and your Mum like it. It is lots of work to do and the room is much brighter.

    Hello from America; Jodie. This particular episode caught my eye because i'm also doing a renovation project for my 3 Bedroom Condo. I'm not a Professional; but i did notice something that could make it ALOT easier on yourself. When you're painting; why don't you use one of those painting extension poles? The job would go much faster; with better overall results. Just a suggestion. Hope everything turns out well.

    The colored walls can also become more of a problem due to many people not using primer or the right type of or color of it. If you have a room where walls were painted different colors i've seen where people don't prime before painting a new color over. Then they can't understand why the walls look different from each other despite all being painted the same new color.

    *Jodie, was that two coats of paint on the ceiling and walls??? Well done on clearing out the room and doing the job yourself. So when I recently painted inside my home in NZ, I washed the ceiling and walls with a sugar soap brand and then gave all two coats of paint. I have two saw-horses and a builders plank... so that made it easier to get an even coat/s on the ceiling & walls. When I painted the outside of my home it had been done in a pale creamy colour... that actually took three coats... for some unknown reason anything with a yellow tinge needs extra coat of white to cover it properly.🙂 Look forward to ep 3 & 4 🙂nz*
