    I love the small detail of how Dimitri’s eyes aren’t that emotional at the start but when Rodrigue gets in the way his eyes widen in shock

    It's moments like this where Byleth forgets they can literally turn back time.

      Unlike protecting jeralt, there was no one in the shadows to kill him, im stumped as to why belyth didnt just turn time back and restrain her?

      @@akgfilming I feel being able to turn back the hands of time so far as the beginning is more just a gameplay thing. In story Sothis says she couldn’t go back so far. Being able to start from the beginning of a map is more just to help the player. I like to believe since the Blood of Eagle of Lion is very battle heavy and lot of death happened I say Byleth ended up using all their divine pulse and couldn’t reverse time to help Rodrigue. It would make sense in War there’s more casualties and less chance to save everyone

    • @cipher-one

      Personally I like to think that Byleth intentionally didn't turn back time on purpose. Dimitri was going down a self-destructive path that not even they could turn him away from. It's only by listening to Rodrigue's last words that Dimitri stops to think for a moment and self-reflect over his situation, which allows Byleth to finally get through to them by the end.
      By turning back time, it undoes Dimitri's potential chance to grow from the experience. It's likely he would have continued ignoring everyone and eventually die while pursuing revenge. It's a cold thing to do on Byleth's part in letting a man they could have saved die, but sacrifices are sometimes necessary for the sake of the future.
      Ah, if only Byleth could speak and have their own thoughts during this game. We maybe could have gotten something like that but nope.

    • @maxrichards3881
      @maxrichards3881 3 роки тому +4

      Mine is Baron Dominic, Annette's uncle and Gilbert's little brother.
      In AM, he fakes a battle with the Faerghus resistance to excuse him handing Crusher over to Annette. Supporting his family while keeping Cornelia placated and keeping his people safe from her wrath.
      In CF, he's not listed among the noble houses that support house Blaiddyd. Hubert lists off houses Fraldarius {Felix & Rodrigue}, Galatea {Ingrid}, Gautier {Sylvain}, Charon {Catherine's family}, and Rowe {Yuri's adoptive father}. He doesn't mention houses Kleiman {who governs former Duscur, and aids Dedue in his paralogue}, Gaspard {Ashe & Lonato}, or Dominic {Annette's house}. This means that although he dislikes Cornelia, he supports the Empire.
      P.S.; I didn't speak much with Annette on my CF runs, so does anyone know if she mentions her uncle?

      I think he realizes that he wouldn't have cared anyways. He also had his duty carried by Lambert and he also took care of Dimitri as if he was his own. I think it was futile on Felix's end.

      Dimitri immediately feared that Rodrigue would haunt him too. Rodrigue used his last moments to reassure Dimitri that wouldn't be the case. Felix was much more emotionaly stable than Dimitri at that point, so Dimitri needed his attention more.

      I’m sure Rodrigue would have said something about Felix if he had the time but he was kinda bleeding out and dimitri was the one who needed far more reassurance as he would have collapsed and died like he does in every other route(besides crimson flower) so if he had more time I’m sure he would have said something heartfelt like tell Felix I’m sorry or something.

    • @uri127
      @uri127 2 роки тому

      @@memelord6671 no, that's not the case at all. rodrigue cares significantly more about dimitri over his own son. even in three hopes (azure gleam spoilers), where dimitri was perfectly fine - felix was right there, holding rodrigue in his arms, and his father's last words to him were 'protect dimitri + the kingdom'. what bs is that? he doesn't say anything father-like, and more than that, he's imparting a dead man's wishes onto felix; the dead should not dictate the lives of the living.

    Some say that Dimitri’s arc is rushed, but I don’t believe that to be the case as he does show signs of caring more about the living overtime from chapter 13 to 16, at the start it was clear he couldn’t care less and even enjoyed it, but in the chapter before gronder, he shows signs of regret after the battle when he mentions that they were monsters with human faces, this growing care is especially apparent if dedue returns as Dimitri wouldn’t care about Dedue being there if he truly didn’t care for the living
    So he did show signs of his wall falling apart, rodrigue’s death is that last push to break down that wall which prevented Byleth’s ability to reach out to him, I think this is what him losing that eyebag represents
    All in all, all hail the king of lions, my favourite FE character, Dimitri alaxander blaythidd!

    I hope there’s a novelization explaining why Byleth didn’t use the Divine Pulse.
    My theory is that, during the battle, Dimitri was so reckless that Byleth is forced to keep using Divine Pulse until they couldn’t use it anymore for a while, hence why they didn’t use it. They simply couldn’t.

      That “little girl” was about to murder a king. She wants revenge for the death of her older brother- a high ranking general captured and mercifully executed by Byleth. Because thats what happens to enemy war generals, especially traitorous ones. It’s WAR. I find Fleche to be absolutely obnoxious. Her brother put her in the last lines of the battlefield, I guess thinking she was old enough to be in battle. However her mindset proves to us she was way too childish to be in battle. It’s frieking war. She never even bothered to find out that Dimitri wasnt the one to kill her brother. Or that Byleth killed the general to save the general from torture. And her side started the war! I cant abide Fleche, and she was outside the bounds of the rules of war. Meaning what she was doing was murder. Byleth put her out of her misery. Good riddance. If she wanted to be mad at anyone, be mad at the Flame Empress for starting a savage war.
