The 2.0L is an Atkinson cycle engine; used in the Corolla and others as it is extremely efficient and CVT or iVT allow the limitations to be negatable. Effectively you lose torque in exchange of the engine delivering much better fuel economy as the engine just moves without resistance on the upward stroke in the firing cycle. It opens one valve early to allow the air to escape instead of build resistance as the cylinder moves up. Low torque your solution is a multi-gear transmission which the iVT is ideally suited for; and more ideal than the CVT (still very good) because the iVT can adjust it shifting points or placements; where as a CVT has to have it shift points preset. To better explain - the Chrysler made Neon's had a BMW designed engine (so very new) but they only had (until later model years) the old but inexpensive 3 speed automatic (actually modified out of he Omni/Horizon cars). They needed BMW to design the engine to trade off horsepower for more torque as torque makes up for lack of gears (Bob Lutz wrote about this).
I LOVE my 2020 Kia Forte GT! I must admit it would look much better with Gabi sitting in it.🥰

Why is it 5 year warranty? Is it just in Canada. I just bought one that has 10 year 200,000 warranty and for a little extra they will make it bumper to bumper warranty. I love it. It's a great little car. 43 mpg on highway 34 avg. In sport mode its got a little kick to it so your not gonna get run over when u pull out on the hwy. Lol. I drove one for 2 weeks as a rental while in the Jasper, Banf area lived it so much bought one few months later in the states.
Canada does a 5 year warranty. In other markets, the 10 year warranty only stays with the original owner, whereas in Canada the warranty is on the vehicle, regardless of how many owners.

The 2.0L is a MPI injection engine not GDI which is better cause you won't have carbon build up issues.
It's an MPI! I'm not sure if we said it was a GDI, but you're 100% correct.

I've owned my forte for 6 years, 64k miles. I did have a trunk issue which was fixed due to recall. Other than that it's been problem free. My 2 complaints are that the interior is cheap and it's very underpowered. I am now looking to getting either a 24 Elantra N or sonata n line 🤔
So if someone is looking at a forte… I assume you would recommend the GT?
Personally I feel the GT is so competitively priced for what it offers to these lower trims, not sure why people even bother buying these trims. The GT is a night and day car compared to the lower level trims

In Canada fog lamps are only available on the GT-Line and GT-Limited trims

Hi Rohit, Smart cruise control is adaptive cruise control. This feature will maintain a preset distance from the vehicle ahead of you and will slow you down all the way to a stop if needed. This feature is available in the EX Premium trim and above on the Kia Forte. - Gabi
Want to get the Lx but all dealerships so far (3) have been shady about pricing and only wanted to do it in person. It's a 26k car after taxes but they gave me a paper that says total 32k. Keep trying to add on extras.. Are there any honest dealerships in the Toronto area? I'm a new buyer and everyone is trying to scam me. It's already stressful spending this much money and waiting months for the car.. sad that this is how it is.

Forte was a good looking design but this one if you see front you can see under front lights, little bit out side on both sides you have like air vents that make ugly look
Just got one 2 days ago, have you had any complaints about misfiring on the 2023 models? I feel like mine is misfiring. Will take it to the dealership. Also how do they not have rear wiper blades?
No complaints about misfiring! If your getting a hesitation, definitely have them road test it with you.

The sport drive is very close to being like driving with manual. It will red line before it changes gears unless u change it first.
If I had a choice between Gabbi or the 2023 forte lxs because forte cheaper Gabbi flawless love both I just paid 26000 outs the door put 1200 hundred miles would purchase again Kia family ❤

Why does Kia still use an actual key instead of a key fob?, I find a key fob a good feature because you don’t need to look for your key in your pocket or purse to open the door or start the car.
We agree! We love a proximity key! For that feature, you would have to move up to the EX Premium.
Good job Gabi! May be it's bit boring and explain about the car in the showroom but explaining while driving on the road or park the car at some beautiful location like other car reviewers does it's more engaging to the viewers in my opinion. 🙂
While we totally agree with you, unfortunately almost all the cars we film are sold units belonging to customers. With current wait times we don't want to run the risk of anything happening to the car. In the future once we receive actual dealer stock we will absolutely do test drive videos!

Hi Linda. remote start is included on the EX Premium trim and up. However it can also be added on at any time through an after market accessory
