- Known for her carefully nuanced color palettes and attention to detail, Cathy Kincaid creates warm and gracious interiors. Her worldly taste in collecting art and furnishings, her intricate layering of patterns, and the customized details--from trelliswork to lacquered surfaces--she applies to every room are hallmarks of her style. Presented are varied residences, ranging from a ship captain's cottage and a 1920s Spanish Colonial to a bucolic farmhouse and a family house in the country, in such locations as Dallas, Connecticut, and the South of France.

Wonderful advice from this designers previous boss. Color has infinite possibilities. It is also KEY to every good design, no matter what it is ! It's a good designer who can use it to let the room sing while holding treasures together that are trusted within it's hug ! As a trusted and blunt artist, i get a number of first time DIY home designers who reach out after creating a quagmire that seems to have no escape. It seems the most popular problem falls with the home owner shooting for a hot trend and investing wasted money and placing it in there home, but fails to realize the fundamental importance of what lives within the setting....their cherished furnishings and collection ! I come in and look at their treasures who access the "majority rules" in a room or rooms and spit out the right colors and textures to make everyone sing. That's the power of color ! Even artist and good designers fail to see this secret.

My grandmother started the collection and I have added to it. It's Herend Rothschild Bird. The teacups and saucers are from the same pattern but with a blue border.
