Electricity to motor produces Rotation which is also a type of energy so as we can convert the energy from one form to other if we give rotational force to the motor it will produce electrical energy that we can take from the terminals of the motor
When taking the leg from accelerator. The wheel rotates the rotor of the induction motor . and the current is produced in the stator of the induction motor which charges the battery ... But to achieve regenerative braking the rotor speed should be greater than the rotating magnetic field(RMF) of stator so the inverter which is connected to the induction motor decreases the speed of RMF IN STATOR than the speed of rotor now rotor speed > RMF of stator so the current flows from rotor to stator through induction and to the battery
