  • Truck bed campers were extremely popular through the 1970s and then people switched to more towable RV units. Recently there has been a resurgence in the popularity of these versatile RVs. The Palomino HS 2912 camper takes all the traditional functionality of a camper and adds modern conveniences and a huge back patio. This could be one of the most versatile rvs we have ever toured.

Not a bad camper. Nice looking. I like the door latches. The patio and the window in the bedroom. A couple off slide outs would be better. I like the couch too. I bought a lance 1172 last year. Love the layout and room inside. This palomino less than half the price of the 1172.

How has the Lance held up? Thanks for watching.

That thing is awesome! I wonder how durable on washboard roads and mild trails in the west to visit.

Thanks for watching. Washboard roads are rough on things so who knows in the long run.

I would like to see a shallower outdoor entertainment center with only a tv and stereo (ie get rid of the outdoor fridge) and use the additional space to increase the size of the bathroom (might even be enough room for a dry bath). I imagine they could also find a way to incorporate a slide into the right side seating area to provide more interior space.

Those are great suggestions. Maximize storage everywhere. Thanks for watching.

agree...they don't need a frig on the deck...the bathroom is way too small for a wet bath...

Host makes a camper with 3 slides that has a standard bathroom instead of a wet bath and washer and dryer hookups.

That sounds like a cool camper. We will have to Look for one to review. Thanks for watching.

We purchased a Palomino backpack HS 8801 in March 2023. We Love it. This camper with the patio is way to big and heavy. It's an interesting idea having a patio, but I don't see the need for a patio when camping.

Glad to hear you have liked your 8801! We wonder about the weight as well. Maybe it is daydream but a cup of coffee in the desert in the morning on a patio hypothetically sounds amazing.

I thought the same thing until I camped on the beach. You need to be able to get off the sand and wash your feet before going in the camper or sand gets everywhere

You missed the deep storage to the left of the bathroom door
This would be above the top door on the deck.
I’ve had my eye on this one for a while
