We attempted Tacos El Gordo and El Pastor on a Saturday night, brutal line. Went in to Tacos Birriera next door, totally a hidden gem!! No line and their birriera was incredible!
Tacos el Gordo used to be located in the Tacos el Pastor building. My first time going, about 4 years ago, the line wasn't bad but that was way before Resorts World. The next time we went, we accidentally went to El Pastor thinking it was El Gordo. 😆 We thought El Pastor definitely had more spice, but they are very comparable. Tacos el Gordo, In-N-Out, and Peppermill are always on our to do list when in Vegas. 😊
Only one you didn't mention is Dirt Dog at the Grand Bizarre Shops, items pretty much between $9-$11.50. Otherwise really solid list if someone wanted to eat cheap
Ocean One hands down. The variety is great and you can't beat feeding two people for $20 (2 entrees + 2 apps, 2 entrees + 2 desserts, etc.). Drink special is crazy good. Huge variety and good flavor.
Ohhhhhh how I miss the Vegas of the mid 90’s and the golden nugget midnight steak buffet !! Eggs cooked to order breakfast buffet w/ a TWELVE OZ NY STRIP cooked to perfection 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 FOR $2. Yes. TWO WHOLE DOLLARS 💵
Current Vegas has a scientific formula for separating you from your money, I got charged $3 for Vegas tap water at NY NY I was not a happy camper 😡 but I do miss the old days when it was fun and cheap.
In about 2002, we ate at Rigo's. It might have been the original. It was across a side street from K-Mart. Super good with a little salsa and chilis buffet table. Loved it.
I know people won't like this but In N Out was the most I have ever been disappointed when trying a place that everyone hypes up...I threw the fries away they were so bad...Whataburger did not disappoint when I went to Texas and got a chance to try it...just my opinion though
I have one more: the Crack Shack. Fabulous chicken and great prices, on the west side of strip near the Aria. Big rooster statue out front. Free range and organic. Fast friendly service. 5 huge pieces of chicken for $15 and two people can barely finish it. Many cool sauces. Lots of sandwiches too. Fries were homemade and fabulous. This place blows away KFC and Popeyes. Excellent and cheap !!!!!!
Another commenter mentioned it and I second Fulton Fish Frye. The clam chowder is a tad more expensive than the original comment (it's now around 7) but still an absolutely huge bowl of chowder in a bread bowl made of fresh sourdough. Super good

Happened upon that place last month by chance. Outstanding deep-fried, shrimp, which is a rarity these days. Sat in the common seating next to the pizza joint and enjoyed the dueling pianos in the bar adjoining.
Thanks for the tip on Stage Door. Can't beat a 1/4 hot dog and a beer for $3! The hot dog was one of the best I've had (so, I had another round) - better than Coney Island in The D, and that's saying a lot.

I discovered the Stage Door by staying at the Flamingo, but gambling at Bally's. Walked by it and said why not? Ended up having two dogs, three beers and a four of a kind on the Poker machine...
When I came out here also in the 89-90 circus circus use to have all you can eat buffet breakfast for 1.99 lunch was 2.99 dinner was 3.99 went to the board walk complete steak dinner was 2.49 omg the good old days now it's all greed sad

Were taking our son in February 2022 for his 21 birthday and staying at Harrah's Were also bringing our oldest son and his wife for a fun family vaca in Las Vegas we are so excited!!!! The açaí bowls at Pressed Juicery inside Aria (second floor, next to Starbucks) are super filling and fresh! Their smaller size is $10.50 and it was definitely a filling breakfast
FINALLY someone mentioning a ‘healthier’ option! There are a lot of healthier options that she missed the mark on... not wise to eat pizza, hotdogs, and hamburgers all washed down with alcohol 24/7 while in Vegas!
Vegas sure has changed. As recently as the late 1980s and early 1990s when many of the original casino people were still running things, food and beverage and hotel rooms were treated as come-ons to keep guests on the premises so they wouldn't take their gambling money someplace else, so massive buffets were as cheap as $4 and $5 -- the only departments that had to show a profit were gaming venues like the pits, slots, keno, etc. Since the new crowd took over, bean counters have moved into every part of every operation. I'm glad I got to spend some time in both Vegas and (lived in) Reno back then. Not only prices, but the entire atmosphere was different in a much more relaxed way.
I like to stay at The Flamingo. I will get up early - like 7:30 am - shower up & dress then stroll over to Ellis Island for breakfast. It’s a 15 minute walk at most. Get the single pancake (it’s huge) and order of bacon. I’m out of there paying $6 and full till the afternoon.

Vicki's diner has really good prices. They use to be on the strip but recently reopened off Sahara. Please do a review of this diner you won't be disappointed
The Earl is a must stop for my girlfriend & I. We discovered it at Disney World nearly 15 years ago and it's become a family go to place when in Vegas, Disney World or Disneyland. Great food at a very reasonable price.
Travel Ruby for a closer to the middle of strip for tenders and sliders go to Yardhouse in the Linq Promenade. Appetizers are half off and I got chicken tenders (big ones) and my wife got sliders. We could not finish them and it was $15.61 for the both of us and that included a 20% tip in that price.
LOL. I always want to go here and try this particular sandwich....but I NEVER make my way into Planet Hollywood or Miracle Mile. I've always stayed MidStrip in either Caesars, Harrahs Flamingo or Bally's....but when I go out, I go towards Mirage, Venetian, and Wynn.....so I pass up Planet Hollywood, Park, Aria and others in that area and just drive down to Mandalay Bay or MGM if I want to visit south strip. I do need to make it a point to hit Miracle Mile shops on my next trip out though.

I am a 30 year Las Vegas resident, and I always learn something new with you. The Peppermill back in the day was a great star gazing place, many club entertainers will hang out there efter their shows. There are no longer any lounges & few people who can sing & entertain if any, but "the mill" still one of my favorite places.
The Peppermill is expensive diner food if you don't visit during happy hour and only has a few good items on it's lunch/dinner menu. Average cost per person is $35-40, more if you get appetizers/dessert. They're existing off their historical legacy from years ago. They raised their prices even more since Resorts World opened right across the street. Heads up- their debit/credit card reader is often broken so they sometimes only accept cash. The Fireside Lounge bar inside though is worth a visit.
I visit Vegas a couple times a year, and I have walked past so many of these places! i always assumed everything to eat on the strip would be outrageously expensive, and dealt with it. I pride myself with only taking a set amount of money with me and sticking with it on my trips and this is going to make it so much better! My birthday this weekend will be much better with these food options :)

Just got back! Best value for me was Del Taco -- FOUR crunchy tacos for under eight bucks A decade ago Mermaids (at Fremont) had dollar hot dogs, although the last time I was there they had jumped to $1.25
Hi just discovered your channel. I just went to Vegas last week. My favorite cheap eats is in the miracle mile shops at ocean one. Their lunch menu is $5.00 every day that I go their. Plus their drink menu is great to. I get their angus burger with the 3 drinks of choice for $15.00.00
It's not like what it was. Slots of Fun had $1 jumbo hot dogs way better than Costco, and then a few more cents you could get a chili hot dog! So sad, that Vegas has forgotten how to share the money they earn, but we know these are corporations that have a bottom line - their share holders. Bring back, the StarDust, Castaway, Silver Sliver casinos - we miss your hospitality and love toward the customer.
Secret Pizza in the Cosmopolitan is a ripoff, they are a tourist trap, raised their prices to $11.50 per slice, $6 for bottled water or soda. Be aware that many strip restaurants not inside hotels charge junk fees that you are not legally required to pay and it's added to your final bill so look at the menu before ordering.
I agree! Tacos al pastor is super comparable to tacos el Gordo. We pretty much don’t go there any more because the line doesn’t justify the taste especially when al pastor is so dang close to the same thing.
Definitely with u on the Tacos El Pastor, in my opinion they are a little bigger and the meat in my opinion is way more flavorful. Of course the line is way shorter and in my opinion its better. I would recommend both but if its packed and i had to pick one definitely Tacos El Pastor. But Ruby always has a good list so listen to her!!!
Great vlog! Last time my husband and I were in Las Vegas, his mother was also here (she stayed in The Wynn, we stayed in a Hilton GV timeshare). She also paid for our dinners EVERY night (except one I think) so we ate Fine Dining the whole week. This next trip in 2023 is just us, so our budget is WAY less so Cheap Eats will be our to-go guide. Thanks again! I'm a new subscriber.
I live in Las Vegas. I cannot get on board with “In-N-Out Burger” anymore. Perhaps the burgers in the video are good. However, the locations around Vegas off the strip make “paper-thin” pattie’s about 3 inches in diameter. I literally had to lift the bun to find the burger. That was at few locations. In addition the oil the fries are deep fried in is rancid. $3 bucks for a paper thin “hide n’ seek” burger? Not anymore!
I got no idea what the deal is with In and Out Burger. I've been there a few times and it's always been just SAD. A floppy, tasteless bit of meat on a soggy bun with some beat up veggies. Compare this to some place, like say, Burger King, with their flame broiler and far fresher meat. And the fries, just amazing! In and Out couldn't make a fry to save their lives. Was In and Out referenced in a movie or something I missed? They must deal drugs, because I can't, FOR THE LIFE OF ME, imagine anyone wanting to eat there over just about anywhere else. Jack in the Box, Carl's Jr, even the often forgotten Wendy's. Wendy's has some bomb chili cups!
On the Tacos I'm with you 100% ...if there's a line or if a place is "trendy" and everybody has got to go there or anything like that, then I'm out! I'll take a so called "2nd best" any day of the week if it's a more laid back-easy going place!!

I went to in and out burger once and the cheeseburger was no big deal. I didn't find it all that great. I've never been to Shake Shake. I might try it the next time I'm there/.

Earl of Sandwich is a LV 1st night destination. When your internal clock is messed up, what better way than to get a sandwich that isn't too heavy at any time. Also, y'all have heard me promote Dirt Dog at Grand Bizarr shops before? Well their items are pretty much between $9-11 for one of the best hotdogs in LV.

Ellis Island is great. I stayed there in March. Affordable rooms and staying there gives you an additional 10% off their indoor restaurant which you can stack with other discounts/specials. Dirt cheap specials that will make you suspicious at first. Great quality and they will promptly fix the rare issue. Only a 10-15 minute walk from the strip.
@@rree4551 Decent on its own. Great for the price. My room came with a fridge and single-serve coffee machine. Good AC. I had no problem coming back to it at night unlike mediocre places that make you depressed after the fun of the day.

We go to the Stage Door EVERY trip. They actually turned us on to Michelob Ultra a few years ago. One of our FAVORITE places.

The Earl is a must stop for my girlfriend & I. We discovered it at Disney World nearly 15 years ago and it's become a family go to place when in Vegas, Disney World or Disneyland. Great food at a very reasonable price.

Travel Ruby for a closer to the middle of strip for tenders and sliders go to Yardhouse in the Linq Promenade. Appetizers are half off and I got chicken tenders (big ones) and my wife got sliders. We could not finish them and it was $15.61 for the both of us and that included a 20% tip in that price.

LOL. I always want to go here and try this particular sandwich....but I NEVER make my way into Planet Hollywood or Miracle Mile. I've always stayed MidStrip in either Caesars, Harrahs Flamingo or Bally's....but when I go out, I go towards Mirage, Venetian, and Wynn.....so I pass up Planet Hollywood, Park, Aria and others in that area and just drive down to Mandalay Bay or MGM if I want to visit south strip. I do need to make it a point to hit Miracle Mile shops on my next trip out though.

I am a 30 year Las Vegas resident, and I always learn something new with you. The Peppermill back in the day was a great star gazing place, many club entertainers will hang out there efter their shows. There are no longer any lounges & few people who can sing & entertain if any, but "the mill" still one of my favorite places.
Just 20 cents more for the tacos compared tohe insane wait. It's actually cheapper if you think about it, time is money too!
The Peppermill is expensive diner food if you don't visit during happy hour and only has a few good items on it's lunch/dinner menu. Average cost per person is $35-40, more if you get appetizers/dessert. They're existing off their historical legacy from years ago. They raised their prices even more since Resorts World opened right across the street. Heads up- their debit/credit card reader is often broken so they sometimes only accept cash. The Fireside Lounge bar inside though is worth a visit.

I visit Vegas a couple times a year, and I have walked past so many of these places! i always assumed everything to eat on the strip would be outrageously expensive, and dealt with it. I pride myself with only taking a set amount of money with me and sticking with it on my trips and this is going to make it so much better! My birthday this weekend will be much better with these food options :)

Hi just discovered your channel. I just went to Vegas last week. My favorite cheap eats is in the miracle mile shops at ocean one. Their lunch menu is $5.00 every day that I go their. Plus their drink menu is great to. I get their angus burger with the 3 drinks of choice for $15.00.00
It's not like what it was. Slots of Fun had $1 jumbo hot dogs way better than Costco, and then a few more cents you could get a chili hot dog! So sad, that Vegas has forgotten how to share the money they earn, but we know these are corporations that have a bottom line - their share holders. Bring back, the StarDust, Castaway, Silver Sliver casinos - we miss your hospitality and love toward the customer.

Secret Pizza in the Cosmopolitan is a ripoff, they are a tourist trap, raised their prices to $11.50 per slice, $6 for bottled water or soda. Be aware that many strip restaurants not inside hotels charge junk fees that you are not legally required to pay and it's added to your final bill so look at the menu before ordering.
I agree! Tacos al pastor is super comparable to tacos el Gordo. We pretty much don’t go there any more because the line doesn’t justify the taste especially when al pastor is so dang close to the same thing.

Try Grand Lux Cafe (owned by Cheescake Factory) the the Venetian....Great food great prices
Definitely with u on the Tacos El Pastor, in my opinion they are a little bigger and the meat in my opinion is way more flavorful. Of course the line is way shorter and in my opinion its better. I would recommend both but if its packed and i had to pick one definitely Tacos El Pastor. But Ruby always has a good list so listen to her!!!

Great vlog! Last time my husband and I were in Las Vegas, his mother was also here (she stayed in The Wynn, we stayed in a Hilton GV timeshare). She also paid for our dinners EVERY night (except one I think) so we ate Fine Dining the whole week. This next trip in 2023 is just us, so our budget is WAY less so Cheap Eats will be our to-go guide. Thanks again! I'm a new subscriber.
I live in Las Vegas. I cannot get on board with “In-N-Out Burger” anymore. Perhaps the burgers in the video are good. However, the locations around Vegas off the strip make “paper-thin” pattie’s about 3 inches in diameter. I literally had to lift the bun to find the burger. That was at few locations. In addition the oil the fries are deep fried in is rancid. $3 bucks for a paper thin “hide n’ seek” burger? Not anymore!
I got no idea what the deal is with In and Out Burger. I've been there a few times and it's always been just SAD. A floppy, tasteless bit of meat on a soggy bun with some beat up veggies. Compare this to some place, like say, Burger King, with their flame broiler and far fresher meat. And the fries, just amazing! In and Out couldn't make a fry to save their lives. Was In and Out referenced in a movie or something I missed? They must deal drugs, because I can't, FOR THE LIFE OF ME, imagine anyone wanting to eat there over just about anywhere else. Jack in the Box, Carl's Jr, even the often forgotten Wendy's. Wendy's has some bomb chili cups!
On the Tacos I'm with you 100% ...if there's a line or if a place is "trendy" and everybody has got to go there or anything like that, then I'm out!
I'll take a so called "2nd best" any day of the week if it's a more laid back-easy going place!!

Food is garbage in Las Vegas, its the WATER or lack of. The Water smells and tastes like POOL WATER. Its gross and they Cook with it, LOL!
I can't believe that you went to so many pizza places, but didn't mention Pin Up Pizza at Planet Hollywood. I think that's the best pizza in Vegas! Pro tip: Ask for extra cheese. It's amazing!

Awesome picks, Ruby! We also liked Freedom Beat in the Downtown Grand. Their Happy Hour ran all night practically and the menu choices and drinks were incredible! That was pre COVID mind you.
All junk food heart attack food. Nothing in Vegas is cheap it is just a rip off. Just think how much time you will need to spend in the gym to get rid of those calories! I am done with rip off Vegas.

Stay at The Elara. You get a small kitchen, so you can go out and buy and store some FOOD. It's the only hotel in Vegas that does this.
That blue ribbon chicken was my favorite spot. It had the best seasoned chicken. I was disappointed when I saw they'd closed a few wks ago. Is the blue ribbon by secret pizza the same company?

I went to in and out burger once and the cheeseburger was no big deal. I didn't find it all that great. I've never been to Shake Shake. I might try it the next time I'm there/.

Shake shack was a disappointment for us.. maybe we went at a bad time but they totally kept getting our order wrong and my burger was missing the sauce and tomatoes ☹️

Earl of Sandwich is a LV 1st night destination. When your internal clock is messed up, what better way than to get a sandwich that isn't too heavy at any time.
Also, y'all have heard me promote Dirt Dog at Grand Bizarr shops before? Well their items are pretty much between $9-11 for one of the best hotdogs in LV.

Ellis Island is great. I stayed there in March. Affordable rooms and staying there gives you an additional 10% off their indoor restaurant which you can stack with other discounts/specials. Dirt cheap specials that will make you suspicious at first. Great quality and they will promptly fix the rare issue. Only a 10-15 minute walk from the strip.

@@rree4551 Decent on its own. Great for the price. My room came with a fridge and single-serve coffee machine. Good AC. I had no problem coming back to it at night unlike mediocre places that make you depressed after the fun of the day.
