    These are a good speaker and sounds great. The downfall is when you want to use the headphone jack, the volume control doesn't work to control the volume levels when using headphone using the built=in headphone jack that is in the end of the volume and power control. The volume controls the speakers. But you still have to use the volume controls in the computer to adjust the volume level when using headphones which in my opinion is stupid. Even if the power is off to the speakers, the headphone jack is still hot.

      Does it have a buzzing sound when not playing any sound thru the headphone jack or the speakers themselves?

    DO NOT GET RID OF THAT AMPLIFIER! I just tore mine down and pulled the amp and power supply out. Basically I was bored and needed to not be in the house and just did this on a whim for something to do. The right side speaker was blown so I was just going to throw it away since I only paid $19.99 for it around 6 months ago. I pulled out the amp and hooked the 2 channel stereo wires to a set of Polk Audio T15 bookshelf speakers (5.25" woofer 2-way). Then, just because it was next to my workbench, I hooked the subwoofer wires to a 12" Kicker Comp sub in an enclosure. I turned it on and about sh!t...it was amazing sounding! i kid you not, that 12" sub was hitting hard and the bookshelf speakers were very loud. Amplifier is at the wattage advertised at least. I plan on making a video soon showing it. Wife came out of the house after if was on 15 seconds to see what kind of monstrous sound system I had apparently bought. So funny! I can understand if you don't believe me, but I'm telling you it's 100% true, it's a great 2.1 channel amp!

      I was given just the wolfer box with amp inside and the cord that would go to the remote. Would i be wiring it correctly if i wired the blue; purple and ground to an aux cord to connect to an android device instead of a comouter and just not attach the remaining wires to anything ? And i rhink i would bw able to put a basic speaker in the wolfer box. Thank You. And im glad to hear this is a kick ass amp, im starting this as a hobby and when i just looked at this before even looking it up online, my gut told me its a keeper !

      I know it’s 5yrs later, but I can second what you’ve said in your comment here. I had the same set of z313’s that I picked up off of a junk pile. They worked but the sub was rattling and the satellites sucked. Threw everything away except the amp board.
      Well a yr later I found it again and decided to see if I could make a bluetooth 2.1 amp box all-in-one out of it with various speaker connectors to quickly test bookshelf speakers. I mounted a 7805CT 5v regulator through one of the heat-sink mount holes, since the screw/ bolt went right through to ground, decoupled it with an RC power circuit (so the regulator noise is filtered and there is no ground-loop feedbacks. Mounted the bluetooth receiver and soldered its R+G+L inputs directly to the respective output pads from the bluetooth receiver. Put it in a box, and now I have a 12v 2.1ch modular amp box.
      I plugged it into some sharp 2-way boombox speakers and ran the sub out directly to a 12in kicker CVR in a small box that had been sitting, and holy shit, the amp is not the reason that the z313’s suck because this setup sounds amazing and bumps the sub nicely and has a better crossover circuit than I thought. The sound is clear and proportional between a sub and the speakers, and the amp sub out actually goes down to low frequencies, and they sound GOOD on the sub, no clipping, and good crossover!
      I’m blown away with how good it sounds for being a shitty wave-soldered PCB from a $20 set of PC speakers. I’ve built several automotive, and home entertainment complete audio systems so I do know some about acoustics and balancing crossovers and measuring frequency response. And I agree, for what it is from, i’d say that the STA540 SOC amplifier chip that’s in the z313’s is overqualified for the job. I showed one of my buddies that’s got a full 5.1 setup in his house and he didn’t believe me at first that it was that little old shitty amp pcb from the z313’s. I am pretty surprised how much better resolution, and how much louder that amp is than when it’s in the z313’s. crazy.

  • @CoolestUserEver
    @CoolestUserEver 3 роки тому +1

    I'm currently cannibalizing various 2.1 systems and just got those. Still decent for half the price mentioned in the video.
    If anyone wants to do the same, the subwoofer is average for that range and has no volume switch so meh. But the satellites sound extremely tiny but with a very clear sound, much more than the others from Logitech in that range and age (ls11/21).

    Creative A120 or Logitech Z313. Which would be the best buy?

    • @woofervision673
      @woofervision673  7 років тому

      I had a poor experience many years back with a set of Creative speakers that failed just outside of warranty so my opinion on this is likely to be prejudiced. Both speaker systems look to be roughly the same product, so if one is substantially less expensive, that is the route I would go. If you don't mind spending a bit more $, go for the Logitech Z523, I recently tested that system and was very impressed.

    Hey man awesome review. I am in no way an audiophile. I just recently built PC and want a decent set of speakers (for their price) that I can use for listening to music, youtubing, and gaming (emphasis on gaming). Will these do the trick? I know I won't get the best audio that a game has to offer, but I want something enjoyable that's not excessive.

    • @woofervision673
      @woofervision673  8 років тому

      These are not bad for the money, (I would avoid paying full retail price though) I have some videos coming up where I compare these to some other inexpensive computer speakers and these win out handily. A lot of it comes down to the space you are willing to give up and how much $ you want to spend. If you have more to spend and a little more room, I would look into repurposing some home theatre equipment or just building from scratch.

      Jacob Jones yes you could if the final impedance is 4 ohms or higher on the sub you want to use. Just splice into the subwoofer leads observing proper polarity. it may sound odd with bigger subs because the crossover point is relatively high with this system.

      Its not bad for the money and considering the very small form factor. Certainly better than laptop speakers. I think most bookshelf type speakers will outperform this system all around. The built in amp seems to be decent, other than the cheesy Chong capacitors; it might sound good paired up with some more efficient speakers.
