My favorite SEC Mike comment last year was “Texas had 3 big games last year and they lost 2 of them.”……
Texas likes to act like they're in their own stratosphere right now. They got a very lucky call against Houston to avoid that loss, came a couple plays away from losing to TCU, 1 play away from losing to KSU at home, had Wyoming at home and was tied in the 4th quarter. I realize OU had some luck against UCF and at BYU, but Texas easily could've been a 4-5 loss team and acts like they're invincible.
@@phillips3994 💯 agree! Ewers was maybe the 5th best QB in the B12 last year and now he’s top 3 in the Heisman???? Give me a break! Ewers has never played an entire season. Texas had a good year last year get ready for them to crash back down to Earth!
@@djpaintles They are seriously downplaying how much offensive production they lost from Worthy, Mitchell, Whittington, Sanders, along with their 1000-yard rusher in Brooks. Those guys were freaks and very clutch. They have all their OL returning I believe, but lost their DL and DL coach along with CBs. They stand behind the talent they have replacing these guys, but talent rarely replaces production seamlessly. Texas has always had the talent!

The point is to realize your vulnerabilities and to remain humble. Texas fans by and large are acting invincible. They had their fair share of luck last year!

Depth along the Offensive line still worries me.

I'm not up on Hornology, but, with OU, the SEC is getting a school, with championship lineage and or excellence in their sports and academic excellence too. Softball, Gymnastics, Football, Baseball, Basketball, Golf, Tennis. Then you have a great Weather school, and medical school, geological & petroleum, Engineering, and media school academic disciplines, and so on. OU has a lot to offer, not just a Football team, when entering the SEC. This isn't a chest thumping statement, just a value for the conference statement. OU brings good things to the SEC. And we will benefit from the other schools as well. As a whole conference, the SEC is going to be even better with it's new 16 team format. it will give choice to students who seek to further their academic studies when going for masters and Doctorate degrees, being able to easily enroll in another institution within the conference. I'm a transplanted Sooner living in Mississippi, and I am so glad we are in the SEC, we will fit in, and once all the fan bases settle down and recognize it, it's going to be a pretty neat deal for all. there will always be bickering and chest pumping, but this is going to be a good conference with our additions. Now the enemy is the Yankees up North and those out West. Boomer! 🙂

Even Baker lost one of those early season games in his 2nd year as our starter. And he had more experience, a better o-line, and better RB's.

The thing I think about from a competitive standpoint is that we have gotten bored with who we play hence us losing some games we shouldn’t or having closer games than we should. Now we have the opportunity to be up and play to our level is going to show in our play. Can you get excited about playing Texas tech and Kansas each year? That has to be hard to get up for every year. We won’t have that problem anymore
Fun fact: Historically, Non-AAU accredited Oklahoma 1 win vs 2 losses to LSU. AAU accredited Missouri has 2 wins vs 2 losses to LSU.

No way you can lose 11 guys to the NFL and assume you will be better, yet that’s what the national narrative is. They think UT has the depth of an Alabama or Georgia and they just replace 1st round NFL guys with first round NFL guys. They haven’t had 11 guys drafted over the previous 5,7,10 years? So yeah UT has way more questions than people are asking no doubt. Sark has his 1st 10 win season EVER and now he’s a top 5 coach? Mike is right, what the hell are people thinking. It’s no wonder UT players and fans have had an inflated view of themselves. They have one good season and now it’s a top 3 program? They will be good but come on automatically as good or better than last year?

32:56 - Our fanbase likes to talk about how bad Ewers was in that Red River game, but our defense let Quinn Ewers complete 32/38 passes for a 84.2% completion rate. That's absolutely atrocious and should not happen.
Texas had 3 turnovers, and after the game they were ranked 122nd when it comes to scoring TD's while they're in the Red Zone.. And we barely beat them.
