There is NO explanation how to connect to the server. No explanation on how to link the current user and his/her own PC/Profile in the server (i.e.) W2008R2. Doubt it is "on the fly". I wish he can make a Part 2 of this video and send us a note so we can see it.
I think the answer to that depends on what the "customer" wants. My best bet is that these were designed for local IT to run within local networks, but I don't see them being limited to just that.
He explain how to conect TC to AC... and some port coz rotate Terminal... very User Frendly... 😋 (sarcazm)! This tutorial is awesome almoust same like that tutorial... >> ua-cam.com/video/0vmQOO4WLI4/v-deo.html OMG! Fuck my whole live if more shity content on YT.
Knuckles the Echidna Hi, I just bought a new unused neowave eon e90 thinline client at the bootfair for £10 and the guy selling it said i could use it as a standalone to play music or videos via a usb flashdrive. However, not knowing anything i took his word for it. Is this true or have i been done up like a kipper again ? if true... can you tell me how please? cheers Gary
Its still bloody huge, I expected it to be tiny as the one I saw online does not have any hdd I assumed it would use a virtual machine from a server which would of been convenient for my needs, oh well. :)
i need a power adapter to this but i don't know for sure what model my thin client is (i think its a t610) and i don't know if they all have the same power supply. Can someone help
Cheaper? Easier to support? These things cost as much as a normal lenovo, for the same price you get: A QUAD CORE i5 processor, 4GB of ram, etc. These devices make absolutely no sense at all. As long as you have a good imaging software in place (we use FOG) then these devices are pointless. With these you not only have to pay for the expensive thin clients, then you have to upgrade your servers on a (recommended) separate network. The cost quickly outweighs a normal deployment with desktop PC.
@pattyheno You can get them for around 600 australian currency. Don't forget to factor in your brand new servers into that 180 pound cost. Oh and a recommended new network. I'ts not cheaper, and it's way less productive. Thin clients have their place, for low work users, and for that, you can get way cheaper thin clients, like Ncomputing.
1:57 funny coz You not do any setup orgional OS in this t5565 client is ThinPro 4.1 work on debian. You just pug cable and on it with full setup... All User who use Terminal need some skills when 1 config.
Some of them are diskless and needs a boot server to fetch a ram image with an OS. Such a server can be setup on PC as long as they are on the same network. Usually, thin clients have Sata connectors inside, so you can just slap a drive in them, install an OS and use them as a regular standalone PC.
Very irritating when even sellers use improper terms for usb drives and sd cards. It is bloody storge, not memory. Memory are those things that go into slots on the mobo (RAM) or on the mobo chip (ROM). Many of these machines use ARM CPUs so Windows is a no no, for the most part.
***** poetentially to a phone, alot of buisnesses have cisco phones that connect to to the computer so the calls can be monitored or called throught the system,
I dont use thin clients but normally a server will be the phyiisical host of the actual host and then the thin clients will simply be connected to that virtual machine. HP is right about thin clients, as your not haveing to deal with a dozen independent physical installs of windows
Good morning friend. I am writing to ask for help, I have an Hp unit of these, model HSTNC-002-TC and the truth is not that it serves in its original state, I have searched for information and everything is in English. I do not understand anything. Please help me, I want to give it the use it deserves. Thanks, i´m waiting for your help in Spanish
I think yes in this model TC 5565 1GB HDD/1GB RAM but first u must disconect flash card from TC and then plug sata HDD or 20 pin IDE hdd then u can install all os i mean tiny like puppy or slitaz. Coz 1 GB ram and gpu only on CPU integrated... I think good config for xp too but if u try linux You have new kernel and actual browser then best choice. HDD ofcourse u can swap with more GB then flash card this is supported.

He used the RDP protocol even though he didn't mention it.

Always leave the USB bootable for Puppy Linux arcade, thin clients are video game consoles disguised as fancy terminals :)

Can a thin client run from a standard PC?
