  • In this Photoshop tutorial you will learn a few ways to remove that white edge that sometimes appear when we cut out a background. The first method I show is the typical approach made by most people, however the second is more unique and is not what most people think to do.

    But do you have now a transparant background or a black one?

      Transparent. The black background is on a different layer.

    why dont we just click "remove background" button or smart select? is it because of the age of the video?

    Ah, this is great! I've been doing it "the wrong way" and this masking method is making life so much easier! Thanks for such a clear and to-the-point tutorial.

    Good explanation, I also, use the lasso tool in the Select and Mask feature in Photoshop 2023. For some herd areas to mask that have irregular shapes.

    I would recommend using layer matte tools to remove white matte, or using minimum filter on the mask to bring it in nicely. More effective on easy and difficult masks.

    Informative video. One question though, what if the image is more complicated with multi-colored background? A video on this topic will be very helpful sir....thanks..

    • @PicyPoe
      @PicyPoe 5 років тому +1

      then you barely see the white lines and there is no point in 100% removing them? dont get it what is your question? you mean foreground object is multi-colored?

    • @LearningSimplified
      @LearningSimplified 5 років тому

      @@PicyPoe Okay, let me explain; let's take any regular image that we snap. For say, a man standing in front of a bunch of flowers. So, the background of the man is complicated with different colors now. If we cut the man out of this kind of images, is it going to give me 100% of the man intact out of this complicated background? Thanks for your reply in advance..
