    In the process of learning to make my own in hopes of saving a lot of money. I used to think it would be challenging, but after trying out some of your techniques with the leather parts, it is super easy! Almost finished with my belt & bandolier, waiting for the base boots to come in before I start them! Thank you Matt!

      I got a question maybe you can help me 🥲 what exactly is he using to „scrape“ the leader to making it look dirty and lighter, it’s not sandpaper right ?

    • @mandofromva6316
      @mandofromva6316 3 роки тому +1

      It’s called “Scotch Brite,” it’s essentially sandpaper, but it works better with leather in my opinion. I have tried sandpaper, and that also works! It leaves more scratch marks than the Scotch Brite though.

    Hi Matt! If you use Veg tan leather it distresses very well under normal wear and would save you a lot of time making them look distressed. You can pull and stretch the leather to make them look distressed.

    omg this is exactly the video i needed to see. i bought some din djarin boots and they are way too brand new, i scoured the internet for "how to weather boots" and nothing seemed like it was what i was going for, i even considered using fullers earth or weathering powders but i was afraid they'd come off too easily, and also afraid of sealing it in with a clear coat cuz i didnt want the clear coat to crack and peel, i dont think that would look very good.

    Next time try the blue painters tape. It comes off easier than the masking tape.

    Hey there! I’m curious if you’d be able to please share the kind of thread you’re using for sewing the leather together?! I’m getting ready to make boots and this would help so much! Thank you :)

    I see you’re wearing “Graham’s heart warrior”. Do you have a relative that has heart defects? My daughter(3yrs old) is a heart warrior awaiting her 3rd open heart surgery this coming summer. By the way your Mandalorian build is probably the best build I’ve seen in a long time across any genre! Very very impressive!!

    Super awesome, detailed and informative tutorial. Will you have patterns at some point, or just shoot from the hip? Have you tried blue painters tape instead of masking tape? May I ask what kind of needles you are using, Janome Leather needles or other brand? Did use black caulking on the base of the where your leather and the boot sole meet? Thank you

    Heyhey i try to recreate you're tutorial. Only i have a problem. Regarding the canvas when i click on the link only the stone color is available now. Is that the color the used? The black seems very dark and on you're boot it looks grey.

    Hey Matt what leather did you use exactly? I followed the link and bought the sheepskin leather that was linked but it is too soft and doesn’t interact the way your leather does… could you give any further guidance on what type of hide and oz leather you used?

    • @CorgiiTube
      @CorgiiTube Рік тому +1

      Seconding this! The more mahogany colored leather that is linked is SO soft and just... not going to work for these boots. If I sand it, it'll just disintigrate. Hoping he'll see this.

    The restrictions that the club has on their costumes drives me a little insane, but I can see why because it gives it more of the Star Wars look to it. I used an old pair of black sort of feminine boots, they were platform wedges so they worked and they had a good amount of natural wear from running and walking in snow and mud
