Here is a fun little project I made: The Amban sniper rifle from the Mandalorian show! I used here only very basic materials and tools like EVA foam, PVC pipes and worked with a box cutter, x-acto knife, contact cement, super glue and hot glue! Also I guess I spent a maximum of $50 on materials. Super cheap and simple, perfect to make your own rifle at home! In total I took me around three days to build (two days if I wouldn't play so much WoW) and Benni two days to paint!

*Just one Benni.
0:24 how do you explain this?
:D
- Svetlana: SOOOOO WRONG! ❌
- Benni: 😭
Right?
For anyone who's interested: the reference images were actually taken at the D23 (Disney) convention in Anaheim in summer of 2019. The costumes were being showcased as part of the Disney+ promotional booth in the exhibit hall. Additionally, as part of the loose theming of the major exhibits of the convention, they also had dozens of costumes from the MCU, Broadway, and so on, meaning that there should be hundreds of reference photos for costumes associated with this specific convention if you ever need it.😄
Svetlana: "The results isn't perfect..."
Me: 😑 don't agree
yus! it turned out amazingly
Svetlana: "This was quite a fun little project."
me: "little"...........flips table... walks away.
I mean have you seen my last video xD
"it took three days to make" _THREE DAYS?!?_
"But if I hadn't played so much WoW it would have taken two." *WHA- Uh!...*
How to turn your Corgi into a Force Ghost. :D
A missed opportunity!!!
I'm calling PETA so they can ruin everything.
😂
I'm working on this rifle! Your pattern was so helpful!
20:06 Me: woww that looks so good
Svetlana: "It turned out like crap"
Me: oh
Me: concerned baby Yoda face
For real, I thought exactly like that and when she said "it turned out like crap", I sulked lmao
Hilarious fade-in of Benny crying over forcing him to redo the model
Bennie did an awesome job either way!! 😤 Even the "wrong" version looks amazing 💕
That’s debatable ;)
The best part is the superimposed shot of Benni crying and wailing for mama, when Svetlana makes him redo his blueprint
Benny's paint job really brought the gun to life.
What a team! It was looking good in unfinished foam,... then the black base coats went on, and I thought, 'OK this is going to be good' then the Benny got to work, and it became even better. I should get back into making,... (looks at maker table which needs a good tidying,....),.....
Svetvana: "I'm using simple material so you can follow along and craft your own mandalorian rifle!"
Me who never had my hands on Eva foam on my entire life: 👁️👄👁️
Your sound try it 👉👁👃🏻👁👉
Do it! EVA foam is actually pretty common. Ever seen those puzzle piece floor mats? Those are EVA foam, and are what most cosplayers use as their main source of foam. It's super easy to work with.
@@Eiterra Sadly we don't even have that as a common thing near me, and the one store that sells it locally has prices that are like 4-5x higher than buying it online D:
@@KamuiCosplay I probably will, it's just hard for me to find materials, especially now .... I ran out of glue already 😅😬
This is kind of a strange suggestion, but would you be interested in making a video of just you both working, maybe an hour long? Like if you want to see that too, so they can see this.
Soooo we should stream?
@@KamuiCosplay That would be fun!
@@KamuiCosplay YES! Pls...
KamuiCosplay yes please😍
@@KamuiCosplay Oh geebus yes please.
I like how clear this tutorial is, as well as the lack of crazy materials! Just simple foam (although idk how to work with it)
Your attention to detail is compelling. Even when you're cutting a corner, you're not cutting corners. Bravo!
I am certainly looking at foam a different way after viewing a few of your tutorials, amazing work
Benni crying in the overlay when she's just like "VERY WRONG!!" was too good, haha I love your channel
This came out awesome!! But the very best part (besides Benny’s amazing paint job) was that you showed your mistakes. All this time I thought you guys were from a different planet with your amazing creations! But now I know you’re human like the rest of us! ❤️
Perception shattered!!!
I gotta say, I love watching Kamui perform her craft, I wince a bit whenever she uses a boxcutter. She's one twitch away from slicing her hand!
Absolutely beautiful work. Fantastic craftsmanship
master class in foam and painting. so many cool techniques.
you guys are such talented painters and crafters. i love your attention to detail
I like how your "not perfect" result turns out dope and makes me wanna buy it without hesitation. But this is the way of being modest!
poor benny
Ordered your blueprint and shrunk it down a bit for a 6.5 year old for Christmas! Your video was perfect and so is your rifle!!! Just LOVE it! My grandson will be in heaven! Thank you!
This is pretty aggressive episode. You're making a weapon, doggo gets evaporated, Beni gets yelled at MULTIPLE TIMES. But still... Awesome video❤️
Maybe the lockdown is getting to me
@@KamuiCosplay Lockdown? What lockdown? Come back to NZ in the future. We have no lockdowns here (touch wood)
Update: As of Wednesday 12th August we've gone into Level 3 lockdown again for 12 days. Bah!
@@gustonzimasheen lol
I love you not only for your amazing works but also for including the materials you used on the video description, I've been looking for a good airbrush set for a while.
I am constantly blown away by the talent people have. I can't make the gun and even if I did I would never be able to paint it to look so real.
thx so much for showing how to do it with easy to get materials.
The con replica's muzzle probably looks like that to simulate what it'd look like after being heated repeatedly by the plasma arcs, like what you did, but over the entire thing. Or at least, that's similar to what steel looks like when you heat it up. Blacksmiths call those temper colors, if anyone wants to look into it further.
I plan on doing a mandalorian cosplay so this video is a life saver !
Sacrifice a corgi. Save a life
Yes!! I’ve been looking for something to work on with my son. This is perfect!
Love your work!
Thanks! Go for it!
What a fun project! Nice sign off at the end, too.
Thank you for your guidance in making this project. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out for me. You did a great job!
Absolutely brilliant work guys. Looks fantastic.
Thanks!
It looks amazing!!!
I loved the scorching effect
Looks AMAZING! Definitely wanna try this
This is very helpful, thank you for explaining things so well. I cannot wait to get started on my own.
Looks pretty good!!! I'm impressed at how dedicated you were to getting not only the prop right but the blueprint too!
This is the way! THIS IS THE WAY!
I really love how your videos show your mistakes and having to redo things, it is so nice to see that it isn't always a smooth process along the way. :)
A wood graining rocker tool would have helped Benny with the stock 😊 Easy and quick to use, great add on to any faux tool kit!
You and your husband are artists. Props to you.
Haha......props
I love your videos and how you support other cosplayers and youtubers
This is just incredible! Just watched the other video on how he made the blueprint, and now I found this one of you making it and I'm so happy I watched it. Fantastic work! I feel like doing a prop myself
What a beautiful prop ! Nice work !
This is amazing me and my little girls will be attempting this as a project! 👍🙌
Nice attention to detail. Great project. Congrats!
I just like this her voice and her instructions or walkthrough or whatever its called were realy clear
EPIC Mando Riffle! You guys never cease to amazing me! This is why I love your books, patterns, tutorials, & blueprints!🙌🏻💖 #inspiring
Amazing job. I totally love your builds!!!
I’m so going to make one of these since I’m stuck at home and not really doing that much.
Btw this is amazing and are you guys also going to possibly do the armor that Mando wears
Good tip when doing wood textures: go from dark to lightest, and get both soft and hard edges in there!
Will do next time!
I did not think it would end up as good as it did. Imo i think its one of the best looking Replica i have seen.
My son and I love this channel. Thanks to the blueprint and the tutorial, we made two screen accurate guns this afternoon. Thank you so much!
That is awesome! Well done!
So much love for both of you from Perú 💕💕 your videos make quarantine so much easier 😊😘
Looks awesome! Thanks for the great tips and tutorial videos!
Guys that rifle is perfect. Great job and great creativity. Please do a baby Yoda modification that would be great with what you guys use.
"Foam-plastic-tastic!" Brilliant, luv you both with your wonderful creations and brilliant videos. 👍
Awesome job as usual : Thanks for all you both !!!
Simply an amazing job. Congrats!!!
This is the way! **hums theme tune aggressively**
OUTSTANDING! Great work.
This looks great Kamui! You and Benni always do such great work!
5:25
Not only the foam was ripped but also my heart xD
too cool. My eyes watched it made of foam but fail to believe it's foam at the end
Success!
OMG you are amazing. I am so wanting to make myself a cosplay crafting corner now.
I appreciate your attention to detail and you did an amazing job! My only criticism is that the rifle barrel doesn't seem to have an exit for the projectiles it fires...
I will definately be attempting this! Maybe I'll 3d print the more details sections though. Thanks xx
Wonderful build!!
I love you guys haha. I recently got a promotion to run my own general store, so now I'll have more money to buy your books and actually follow your crafts.
Congratulations!!
Thank you so very much!
Nice! Really awesome replica this way.
I love that you showed how your craft went wrong and you rebuild it. As a beginner I make mistakes and when you see how everything perfect in tutorial it makes you feel awful. Great video as always
oh my
i need this
Thank you for the blueprint Mr. Husband
You’re welcome! -Husband
Incredible attention to detail! I'm exhausted! Well done and most entertaining.
Thank you very much! :)
I love how your and Jessica's Video have completely different vibes when it comes to cosplaying and you still shout each other out and support each other
honestly amazing
I got bought your flat-chest female armour so I'm gonna try make The Armourer from The Mandalorian! Luckily enough her tool look pretty simple, but if you wanna do something of hers (maybe the armoured skirt since that's a bit different?) I'd be super excited. Or maybe Mando's jetpack? As it is, I love the rifle!
I love how happy you are. Makes my day.
Awesome job! Down loaded the pat, hopefully ill have time to build this soon!
Cool
Endlich mal jemand der die Waffe baut danke für die Tipps 😊
Odin makes und I like to make stuff haben das Gewehr auch schon gemacht.
This is awesome. I saw your condensed version on Facebook a few minutes ago. 👍👍👍
And just completed my mandalorian rifle following your video thanks for that
In your opinion 'Not Perfect'
My opinion is that is one amazing finished product.
You two are the best and I love watching your videos and learning new things.
You guys make it look so easy.
Corgi ! ❤🐶
Incredible I really love it, especially the paint job of Benni 😍
Great build! The rifle looks amazing - as usual.
4:34 props for giving Mr. Kaufmann credit for his reference photos.
Of course! Helped us immensely!
No corgis were harmed in the making of the video. The Bennis got the crap beat out of them, but the corgis are fine. 😂😂😂😂😂
This is so cool! Thank you so much for posting!
You guys are true artists.
Great video Svetlana. I have built my own Mando costume from EVA and have used your techniques to improve my foam work so thank you. I am going to add my costume to my channel at some point as i made it up as I went along. I need the gun for Halloween so I think i have run out of time! Thanks for your great inspirational videos!
I put half of those links on my amazon wishlist, thank you!
I am so happy you got it done!! May the 6th be with you
Revenge of the 6th!
@@KamuiCosplay XD Exactly!
I know you are a perfectionist so you don't feel like it was perfect but I think it is. You guys nailed it and did an amazing job. You are both very talented. Great work!
Pro tip: Use a soldering tool with a blade attachment to cut foam, the heated blade cuts through foam like butter and the heat seals the foam as you go. In addition you don't need to keep replacing the blade on your box cutter. Hope this helps someone. Have fun cosplaying!
AMAZING BUILD!
Really love how you used material almost every newbie foamcrafter (like me ^^' ) can get it's fingers on.
Also really #ifeelyou when you recognised your reference/build wasn't correct and ripped off parts - did that quite a few times on my Torbjörn claw, myself. But soo refreshing when it turns out nicely after that initial cut.
BTW: Thanks for recommanding the LUKAS spray varnish in one of your other videos - it turned out just the sealer I always wanted.
red lining
stippling
dry brushing
and a lot of sanding.
That looks awesome
Glad to see i am not the only one to warm spray primer
Love it! You guys are so talented
Wonderful work! I love this video!
