Yeah!! Been waiting for this video.
This X-FIVE is one of my favorite ASP's - along with the M17.
I absolutely also love the fully adjustable rear sight on this one. The pistol is big and weighty. The cartridge cam lever system is awesome for being so handy and quick. Those plastic stickmags are a bit "cheap" in my taste - but it is nice that the P320 ASP's mag also fits and work with this X5. I oughta buy a 2-pack of extra mags for my X5.
Not a fan of the slide movement sound though (same goes with the P226 ASP).. Woulda myself also liked a cut out ejection port in the slide. And never really liked it when the slide spring is around the barrel. Often too little of space underneath the hood for a decent spring around the barrel - and then the slide gets sloppy movement because of a weak spring and no decent slide rails (only short rails in the back, front of slide loosely around the barrel). Better off with a guide rod and a decent spring - as the M17 has..
And now.. If only this particular X-Five design/model would be manufactured as a steelBB version with a full size mag... Wow! I'd be there out in line for one! The old Cybergun BB shooter is one of my all-time favorites - but this one would definitely upgrade the looks..😁

Outstanding feedback!!! I agree 100% with everything you stated. I would like to one day design my own Co2 pellet pistol. Do you like 1911's? I think I have almost every model made. I will feature them in the future. I hope all is well!!👍

@@AirgunDetectives Never really were into 1911s... until I bought one (UX Colt M45 CQBP Rail Gun)!😂 Just had to buy at least one - and it was not a bad decision. No wonder 1911s are much sold. The Tanfoglio Witness probably was a top-seller at some point - or that is at least the impression I have gotten..
Hope you get to design your own co2 pellet pistol someday. I bet new ideas oughta be welcome. As of now I am very interested to get to see how the new Walther PPQ blowback pellet pistol will perform. Blowback, belt, fullsize mag... Great expectations, to say the least. The mag at least looks solid in the pics. Just love how well the PPQ sits in the hand - as well as the HK VP9 I'd say. Great ergonomics on those grips imo..
All good at the homefront, thank you for asking!

Opened up my cheap (€20) ASG STI M1911 Classic 6mm airsoft spring pistol the other day.. Just for the interest of what is inside etc. Never really used it anyways. Own several co2 airsoft pistols nowadays. But the ASG 1911 is my very first airsoft pistol and bought just for cheap fun back in the days..
After getting the slide halves apart, the slide spring shot out of it. Noticed it's familiar shape and size. Decided to make a small test since just spendin time in my storage room.
How about testing if it fits over the barrel of the Sig Sauer X5 ASP? And does the slide go back on after that? ..Yes, it did!! The 1911's spring first looked a bit short for the X5 barrel since not being as long as the barrel - but the short space for the spring within the slide made quite the perfect fit.
So. If the og Sig X5 slidespring ever gets effed up, or just gets tired - I know now where from to take a stiffer, unmodified (not pulled longer while effin up the tension abilities) spring that fits the X5 perfectly..

Just got mine. Only got to shoot a 20 mag before leaving for work. Doesn’t seem as powerful as my cheap Gamo p-85. And how come these manufacturers can’t figure out how to lock back the slide after last shot. I’ve only seen BB guns do it.

Thanks for the review. Very informative as always and of great interest to myself in the UK where CO2 pistols are the closest most of of us can get to firing the real thing! I've had the X-Five ASP for a few years now and after having put 1000's of pellets through it, began suffering far more frequent jamming. The cause was wear in the magazine, such that the pellets in the chain weren't perfectly concentric with the barrel when the CO2 was released to fire. This caused the edge of the pellet to hit the edge of the barrel and jam. Using a wooden dowel down the barrel to push the pellet back into the chain allows the magazine to be released and the pellet inspected. Most of the time, the head will have a crescent imprint on it from where it hit the end edge of the barrel and will be bent over to one side relative to the skirt. To confirm the cause, I removed the CO2 from the gun and loaded the magazine and peered down the barrel with a torch whilst cycling the trigger. You can then see that some of the openings in the chain don't rotate into perfect alignment with the barrel. It might not be every one though so check all 20 - I had 2 out of 20 that were particularly bad, but others were starting to also loose alignment as well. I have since bought a twin pack of new magazines and although they worked better than my old one out of the box, they weren't perfect. On disassembly, I found the spring loaded clamp at the top which holds the chain in position to be tight on one of them due to a bit of plastic flashing that hadn't been removed. Once this was sorted it moved freely to hold the chain in the firing position. As others have stated, a bit of lubricant on the chain does help, but I feel the most important and best area for this is on the top of the central divider tab that the chains passes over as it turns to come back around after the pellet has been fired. The spring loaded clamp effectively pushes each link against this tab, so the top edge of this wears away over time causing the barrel alignment issues. What I do now is put a drop of Pellgun oil on this edge prior to every shooting session and it makes for a much smoother trigger action and so far, zero jamming even with rapid fire. Accuracy has also improved as the pellets are no longer being damaged due to minor barrel misalignment. If you own this gun and are having problems with jamming then hopefully the above will be of some use. Granted, on a brand new gun this shouldn't be necessary, but it's a simple check to at least look down the barrel (safely!) to see if it is due to magazine chain misalignment. You can then decide if you want to return it if it's recently been bought with the benefit of being able to argue what the problem is, or, when outside of the warranty period, do as I have and tinker with the magazine to try and sort it yourself. I suspect all this also applies to Sig Sauer's other ASP models the P320 and M17 as they share the same chain magazine system. When it does work flawlessly, the X-Five ASP is a great gun and awesome fun! Happy shooting!

Hello again brother. Not joking this is probably my 4th time watching this video this week. Got the SIG P320 M17 and didnt like how inaccurate it was but loved everything else about it. Just packed it to return it. Then picked up the P226 based on your 4 stars and absolutely love everything about it, would be nice to see the cut outs like you mentioned but its definitely solid. I cant find the X-Five anywhere so I will have to wait till after the holidays. Quick Question, what do you use for that target practice setup? Is that customer made or some kind of old BBQ Grill ? Just curious. Many thanks for your reviews and God bless! Be safe

Very high quality video! Elevation is a big problem for me in handguns as I learned to shoot when the bullseye was balanced on top of the front sight ("Target"), not the Combat superimposition sight picture Glock rolled in. Now I shoot low. I have a TX22 with comp kit and this is only firearm available for reasons that became obvious. Dial up the rear sight and the hammering of the slide causes it to roll back down. I fixed this with epoxy. My new Bersa 380 shoots low but I have tall suppressor/co-witness sights on the way. Destroyed the predecessor to this airgun trying to raise the sights. Filing the front sight is ineffective with 3 white dots. The X-5 should be great. Sig reps will be at the Gun Club this weekend where Susan will ask questions about her new Macro 9mm. I'll put in a good word for the Airgun Detective.

I have one...not a huge fan. 30 round magazine is excessive. The gun cools down once you get to 15 rounds and the rest of the rounds are useless until the co2 warms up. The X5 is a better choice and it has adjustable sights. I'll review P320 one of these days.

I'd get the P250 instead - if found one. Uses the 8+8rd rotary flipstickmagazines like the P226. I have yet to get one. The P320 model been often suffering from jamming - and the 30 rounds is a bit much. But the P320 do shoot good when it works.

do you ever go back and do another chrono after a couple cartridges have been run through, on a few occasions i've seen the FPS on CO2 guns increase by as much as 70 points after all the manufacturing oils and crap have been blown through, usually 60-100 rounds......
