Dav Pilkey, author and illustrator of Captain Underpants, is in studio to speak with Dina about the small screen adaptation of his story and its origins.

Mr. Pilkey, I doubt we'll ever meet or that you'll read this, but thank you, truly, for the Captain Underpants books. I got bullied a lot as a kid and those books were one of the few things that put a smile on my face and encouraged me to become a reader and writer, myself. Now, I am a reporter for a CBS TV station in Chattanooga, TN, and love telling kids to try reading and writing for fun whenever presented the opportunity.
