- War Of The Robots 1978 Full retro sci-fi movie. Bad Star Wars ripoff at its finest! The plot follows an alien civilization, which facing eminent extinction, kidnaps two famous genetic scientists from Earth. A troop of soldiers is dispatched to combat the humanoid robots and rescue the victims.

Exactly, with a big bag of popcorn and something to drink! Next I'm going to watch Lobster Man from Mars! I wish George Lucas had done a series on Captives in Space! Or maybe Miss V from Moscow!

Makes perfect sense to put the main computer on the outside of the ship without any shielding. Fantastic space walk effects! Boy they really dod their homework and spent some serious money. Or lira? Drachma? Shackles? Whatever...
I have to watch at least some of this. The Title of this movie is fantastic, even if the movie is not.

I watched that I was 13 . My dad was a big western and Gunsmoke fan .He said he could not believe Lorne Green would do such a shit show.....he did not think much of Battlestar Galactia LOL

It's 1978, not 1958. Why are they spending so much of the movie time on checking out the Satelite from 11:01 to 13:00 something? And what is the point of the Captain telling someone to follow him with a camera? No offense - so far not a bad movie but where the heck is the editing. Two minutes for this in 1978 after Star Wars has come out?
"Everything all right John?" "Yeah, fine." What the heck? He's there to find out what's wrong with the Satelite, what happened to it. Yeah, everything is fine even though it isn't...
Why is he asking the Commander what to do when he's already done it? It's like I'm watching a rough or maybe a more final cut of the movie instead of the final movie after the wrinkles have been smoothed out and wasted time deleted... And I'm not an editor...
Increase Jet Power by 100,000 and all that. It's not 1958, right? This is 1978...
16:08 "Just what I need!" Ok, it's a PG movie, it's fine.
16:19, he pokes himself in the eye and they had to cut that out. Good smooth piece of editing - you can't tell. Not a bad scene. Dialogue could be better.
17:41 - more cleavage, a bit longer shot.
17:51 - "you're right, those are alien space ships!" WTF? They already know they are alien space ships and they are already under attack. hello! The Commander has to tell them to attack when they are already being attacked.
"All right we're attacking!" How about, "Commander, of course we're attacking, do you think we're just going to sit here in space and get blasted into oblivion?" Got to love it?
They needed Marcia Lucas to edit this. Couldn't afford her but she could recommend someone.
19:10 It takes them 20 seconds to figure out where to fire. They blow up the first aliend craft and miss the second. Then the Captain just says fire, someone pushes a button and destorys the second alien craft. Sheesh!
19:34 ship is drifting 7 degrees West. It's 1978, they are in space. West of Hoboken New Jersey? 19:39 - Reduce thrust on right! .... Not that right idiot! The other right! 20:09 Computer says alter course 3 degrees East! OK....

Lucas and Speilberg make movies that cost a fortune to produce. If you ain't got the money they got, don't try to play their game. Try something else, like an astronaut going nuts in a tiny spacecraft cabin.

What would have been great is if @12:25 the captain get's his helmet stuck in the hole in the Satelite and then they play the Davide Bowie song Space Oddity while he calls for help.

I read Hollywood give a few quid to mediocre directors to make similar films to come out just before their blockbusters, like snakes on a train b movie and Snakes on a plane blockbuster both 2006, and as with this and star wars were both releases 1978. Maybe to get people into the genre I dunno.
