Seriously - we want to hear your opinions, not just look at palettes. I also enjoy just looking at palettes 😝 but your monologues have made it much more interesting and informative! And I like looking at the palette while the creator talks about it 😊
Thank you so much!!! I looooove my BH sweet shoppes. I hope that some brand eventually comes out with another version of colorful monochromatics, but with a shimmer row and a matte row. I just love that organization. I think I've been partial to it ever since my first true high end palette purchase of the original Lorac Pro back in 2013. (What a throwback lol)
You are too kind! My husband was roasting me for how long this is but I told him the eyeshadow geeks would get it. :P Thank you so much for watching (and for sharing it on your stories)!!!
Thanks for sharing your collection! I prefer palettes that have from 6 up to 15 pans, though I've got one really special one that has 21 pans. If Blend Bunny and Cosmic Brushes ever come out with smaller palettes, I would consider trying them. You mentioned you prefer mattes. I'd love you to cover your single matte shadows in a future video. I love my few Lethal mattes and I have some nice enough ones from Colourpop, but I'd love to learn more about where you find good matte singles.
I think that is a good strategy for sure, especially if you know you don't use larger palettes. I am dominantly a matte person, but I feel as if I'm typically constructing looks around palette mattes rather than my singles, HOWEVER... I certainly have plenty of good mattes I can go through. :)
Sooo, I'm actually in that group of Blends being "all that I need". 🤣 I actually have a fairly small collection (11) and just learned about "indie makeup" last year. It's the only true rainbow palette I own that I got for my bday this spring. That being said, though, I do understand where others are coming from. I do have a few other colorful palettes that make up for the tones not found in the Blends palette. 😊
Thanks for sharing, I love that! I was just trying to be kitschy because I don't know a single person who actually only has that one. Kind of like the old Lays commerical "betcha can't have just one eyeshadow palette!!!" lololol. And I totally get that! I think one of the major missed tones in the Blends is the area of yellows, so I know for me, I would always want that Uh Huh Honey from ColourPop for my yellow needs!
@@alaynesface5587 Yeah, I can see that. It's lacking in some true yellows.. For me, I have a couple of yellow tones in the Bella Beaute Bar Poison Garden 2 palette and a pastel yellow in the Oden's Eye Hela palette. But that Colourpop palette you mentioned is very pretty.
I have the sugar cone and it makes a great neutral look I have a lot of palettes for neutral looks it’s great. I also have the other ones and sugar cone and the pistachio are ones I use consistently
Love your collection. Can you do a video on how you depot pans that don't have a hole on back of palette to pop out?? I've tried and have ruined pans. Thank you.
Hi there! Thank you for the suggestion! If I'm able to do that video, it might be a while yet due to schedule limitations. Depotting really comes down to whether or not you want to keep the original packaging intact. It's a lot easier (especially when the palette is cardboard) to destroy it altogether and pull the pans out. If you want to go that route, there's lots of videos out there. (I like the one from Lauren Mae Beauty). If you want to keep the packaging intact, Kendra Morgan did a fantastic one with the BH Mimosa palette. I also recommend a palette knife set (like for painting) rather than using anything sharp. Those knives tend to be not as dangerous to use but they are thin enough and can provide enough torque to cut through glue underneath the pan. Of course, knowing how to repress if there's any accidents helped me to feel more brave doing it, so you could check out facesbygina or the Repan Revolution tag. Hopefully that was helpful! If you have a way to DM me on Instagram, I can provide you direct links to the videos I mentioned! (YT likes to flag comments that contact direct links as spam.) :)
@@alaynesface5587 thank you so much!! I was trying to depot some of the shadows in my alter ego Artemis palette which is magnetic but I still messed up some shadows. Thank you so much for responding and for the info. I'll look up those videos. You are awesome!! New sub!!
@@sureiseeyou Ah! Well in that case, you might try a strong magnet if you can get a hold of one. Alternatively, a palette knife would probably make it really easy to separate the magnetic force of the pan and magnetic backing. Best of luck to you!
Oh my godddddd you had me running to my palettes! I actually have previously tried to pop out the Arcana and that one isn’t magnetic for sure. Mine was still on preorder when I preordered the It’s Freaking Bats, so mine got held up for the 8 months that took so I think it was manufactured before they moved into making everything magnetic. THAT BEING SAID, I just discovered due to your comment that the Bats palette is magnetic and now I feel silly😂 so thank you for your comment!!!
I have three bb palettes & primal is actually my fav of the three! That indigo row is perfect. Even the red row are unique tones of red. Surge is my least fav. The deep tones all do the same thing & the pastels are super chalky. The neons are fantastic, but the rest is kind of a bummer & I strongly dislike the shimmers. Blends is my middle of the three. I have the cp fade into hue & I actually really love the tones!
I can totally see that! For my makeup taste right now, I absolutely loooove All Done Up. I definitely enjoy all my Blend Bunny palettes and would need to use Primal (really, all of them) a lot more to do a full ranking, I think. I'm glad to hear you have somewhat similar thoughts about Surge! I enjoy the pastels but totally agree on your dark mattes take. Ultimately I want to use it a bit more to get to know it. I think I bought mine late enough that it was the slightly improved shimmer formula (but not as good as ADU), but I can't say I reach for them when creating with the palette anyway - haha! Thank you so much for your lovely comment, I appreciate it so much! (+ I can't wait to use Fade into Hue a bit more based on your thoughts!)
Alayne! I’m so excited to have found this video of yours! This was great to watch and I love hearing all your thoughts-I completely agree about Natasha Denona and Kaleidos. Also, I have the same problem with Surge and the columns!! I try to mix and match with it but I never feel inspired when doing so.
Oh my gosh, welcome to my little corner of UA-cam, Bethany! I think we may have discussed the Surge palette before and I was so happy to hear I wasn't the only one :)
You should try or give a chance to natasha denonas newer pallettes even if it is a mini one the formula has gotten so much better.i love indie also but I am starting to love natasha denona also.fyi.😊
I am in the same boat with Beauty Bay. I have the blue palette and I feel like if you take away all of my palettes, as long as I have the blue one, I'd be fine. Loooove Beauty Bay but I only have that one!
That's so interesting! I wonder if that's common and maybe they should look into re-releasing some of their smaller ones that really pack a punch and serve a good purpose in people's collections... hmm...
@@alaynesface5587 Yes, they really should! They should also look into even smaller palettes, I think. Something about the size of it makes it a bit unweildy.

It's soooooooo good!
The Arcana pans are magnetic! They are glued in but easy to remove. I wanted the shimmers in other palettes and to ditch the mattes.
Oh my goodness! Time for some experiments... :)
