    Ikea Trones is 52x18x39cm. They are quite affordable. It is 18cm in width for shoes maybe just a tiny wider than the radiator. You could also see if your board games can fit into the Trones to make your junk corner neat and tidy.
    For the closet area, just hang a curtain to hide the clothes from sight and to keep dust out. Or be creative, make a painting of your tiny house then make the canvas/frame as closet door. You’ll have secret place in the room and a fun conversation piece.
    Hope it helps.

  • @Bobbi-pisces
    @Bobbi-pisces 3 місяці тому +24

    Couple suggestions. Closet you can hang a curtain until you get a door. Can keep it simple.
    Under counter you can definitely get a cabinet in there. They have really nice ones. I had a similar issue I got a really nice shoe closet and it fit perfect and I used it for storage instead.
    It sounds odd but it worked and it's better then looking at your open things

    I saw a lady who had a drying rack on a pulley! She would bring it down from the ceiling, where it blended in when unused, and put her clothes out to dry and then send it back up while it dried. IT WAS AMAZING. I will have that glorious feature one day.🥰

    Cute video!
    Regarding the laundry, I would simply put everything on a well dimensioned drying rack and point a good fan heater at it.
    That solution works very well as a “bandaid” and even helps with keeping air moisture in check (which might be a problem in a tiny house), by drying the air.
    I know that from travel and “van life-ing” occasions.
    Best wishes ❤

    When you get a washer dryer combo please look into them beforehand.
    I got the Samsung add wash combo and it takes forever to dry a tiny load as you cannot fill the drum fully. It also uses a lot of energy.

    I know the sofa is from your old house , but for this space i would of got one with storage inside of it Also you have room under your table - you can either get some "wood" planks and place them on those bars , it will create another level for putting things there or you can get some slim boxes for under it. For the shoes i would get either very narrow one OR one of those hanging textile organizers that have bigger pockets for the shoes. Also you can get some shelving for under the counter .

    For the board game storage, they have some cabinets that have storage in them. They are usually used for shoes and you can sit on it but I’m pretty sure you can use it for whatever you want. Have you thought about curtains or some sort of pull down shades for the windows? That way you can still have the sleek look and openness but get privacy and keep it cooler when it’s blazing, lol. It’s not the prettiest but you can actually but a shoe hang to put on your door. I really love this and living in small spaces before I complete understand, lol. Y’all are doing great though!

  • @Internallifee
    @Internallifee 3 місяці тому +1

    If u get a couch that sits up high off the floor you can get those flat bins to store your game boards under. They look kinda messy just out and about. They also make deep coffee tables with plenty of storage to hide things in. As for the shoes they sell shoe racks that can hang on the wall or on the back of a door that’ll maximize your space

    Hi, suggestion. I saw someone also
    suggested the shoe cabinet from ikea. It could possibly also fit at the end of your Kitchen counter facing the glass door or you could add a small cabinet under the floating tv cabinet either maybe a flip down or flip up door and make it the full length of the cabinet and could fit all your shoes. I also thought the same as others that u can put a couple of cabinets under the breakfast bar for storage. Regarding the combo washer idea- I have read that they do take a long time to dry and the ones that are a bit quicker are the ones that can be vented through the wall to the outside. Hope this helps! Love your home!

    I recognize the issue with drying the washing. I live in a studio and in winter there isn't much space inside to put the washing rack and it takes time to dry. What workes for me best is opening the door as often as you can, to keep the humidity as low as possible.

    You can get your house windows tinted as well to help with the sun (helps stop carpet fading too). We live in country NSW, Australia and have all of our windows tinted, especially our windows on the front of our house as they are westerly facing and in the summer our temps can get to 40°c. No idea about cost, sorry as our best mate did it for us but definitely worth it.

    I HATED my washer/dryer. It was terrible at drying & it was full of fluff after every drying session which i'd have to clean before every wash. If you really don't have space for a dryer I recommend buying a little outdoor storage unit like a bike or bin shed & putting the dryer in there using a waterproof electrical socket.

As well I would also do a small but comfortable restaurant type booth with storage under the seats in the kitchen. I wonder if those ikea Hemen shoe closets would work? You could also install a stacking dryer above the washer, like you said, and install a sliding tray/drawer, between them if possible for storage of detergent etc? Or wall mount the ikea Trones shoe closets, because they sit flatter against the wall, & store the detergent etc. in there? Attach mosquito netting ‘doors’ (the ones with magnetic closure) to the outside of your screen doors. That way you can utilize any cross breeze to cool the tiny home in the summer?
    I’d also maybe close off that breakfast overhang for that storage you mentioned.

    Roxi, have you thought about a retractable awning for over that front window so you can have the protection and shade but also on winter not have it in the way of light?

    In Italy there are some slim shoe cabinets that are 15cm wide, you will probably be able to find them in the uk as well!

    There is a specific shoe rack at ikea for tiny spaces, they call it TRONES 😊

    For the shoes you can get in Jysk a shoe rack that you just pice together, i have the same it has 3-4 shelves and slim enough that it would fit there. Although im pretty sure a lot of other places sell racks like that.

    Instead of a tumble dryer you could install a pully system on the ceiling it will dry quicker and be up out of the way

    Re south facing windows turning your home into a greenhouse.... I live in a 1 bed south facing apartment that has 2x2m windows in the bedroom and living room (only windows in the apartment) and my place used to get up to 38c!!!! In the summer, it was disgusting!
    I installed solar window film and it reflects the majority of the uv rays and significantly reduced the heat in the apartment. Word of caution, daytime from outside the window looks like a mirror however at night when its dark outside and lights are on inside you can see everything so be aware if privacy is needed, im on the 4th floor so I'm okay. I take the film off after summer so the uv heat can enter during winter and my apartment has NEVER goes below 20c even in the middle of winter, helpful, especially with gas prices. The solar film is installed with a mix of water and washing up liquid so easy to install and remove!

    Use the space under your bed for junk space. Can store shoes and your board games. It will be hidden well with bedsheets.

      A lot of creators do this for brands that are not sponsoring so they’re not giving free advertisement. Maybe that’s what it was

    What about putting a dryer in your studio. It's a short walk and maybe cheaper. Just a thought

  • @Madynes.m
    @Madynes.m Місяць тому

    it's not the best solution, but the drying rack could be in your bedroom during day, and then at night time, you could put it in the bathroom/living area

    A cloth/vinyl bag like thing with pockets for your shoes that hangs on the back of a door. (It's hard to describe without an image ) If you search you will find what I'm talking about. You can hang it on the wall in the hall way of your tiny home.
