      Afternoon Mr Walden,
I am sorry to read about your frustrations and the subsequent disappointment you have experienced in relation to your order, this is not typical to our Driver Journey
You may have be aware that there is currently a worldwide shortage of ‘Semiconductor microchips’. These microchips are an essential part of the production process for vehicle manufacturing. As a result of these shortages many motor manufacturers have seen logistical disruption, primarily in regards to their new vehicle orders.
The demand for newly manufactured vehicles still remains high, however, the combination of this continued demand, backlogged orders following Covid-19 restrictions and largely the reduced number of aforementioned ‘Semiconductor microchips’, have now culminated in longer term order disruption resulting in delays and cancelations of orders.
If I could ask for some further detail such as your order number via email to Resolutions@Tuskerdirect.com one of the team will look into your order for you and offer some feedback on what has occurred.
      Kind Regards
      Alistair Elder

I strongly advise anyone to AVOID Tusker at all costs.
I appreciate that Fully Charged are running a business, but I'm surprised they are promoting a company with as many issues as Tusker!
I've had no end of problems with Tusker, as have other individuals at my company. As a result of this, our company have switched from Tusker to Octopus EV.
Some examples of the problems with my Tusker vehicle:
    - Advertised 5 month lead time, took 14 months. I accept there were chip shortages, but for the last 9 months they were telling me the car would be delivered within a fortnight!
    - Vehicle delivered with the incorrect registration number for the VIN!!!
    - Car delivered with a door handle which didn't operate, this took over a month for Tusker to resolve
    - Car delivered without the multi-media interface (MMI) and other aspects of the onboard computer working, this took over a month for Tusker to resolve
    - Car recently had a brake error (red warning light!), Tusker advised the earliest they could fix it would be in over a month and that I'd need to drive the vehicle to the garage over an hour away myself (so much for Tusker providing a drop-off and pickup service!)

My employer offers salary sacrifice via Tusker and with such a low benefit in kind the case for an EV is compelling. Unfortunately the problems with availability of chips and now war in the Ukraine have caused lengthy delay. My car (the long range/high capacity ID3) has been on order since August last year but it seems petty to complain when people are displaced, suffering and losing their lives.

      Hi Jonathan,
Thank you for taking some time to comment and for your understanding.
The current challenges faced by a lack of semiconductor microchips has been the source of delays and subsequently great disappointment for many drivers ordering new vehicles across the industry. Tusker remain in frequent conversation with manufacturers and we also hope this challenge begins to subside.

Be careful, as I found some of these schemes will affect your pension contributions and hence reduce your final pension amount (like the cycle to work scheme ) as the money is taken from your gross salary before tax. The pension scheme contributions that my employer adds to my pension scheme were based on taxable income, so you have a lower taxable salary hence lower contributions when the money is taken from you via the salary sacrifice before tax. Whilst this doesn't have a big impact with a £1000 bike, with £5,000 a year off your salary, it could be substantial, especially if you did this for some years(or it became your default method of having a car! I think I'd prefer a banger and save up the £5,000 until I could afford a s/h electric car ....as I might then have a pension sufficiently big enough to run a car in retirement....

      Good Afternoon,
I appreciate your feedback in regards the associated costs of the Tusker scheme, there are different ways that driver can finance, buy or lease vehicles and as the consumer it is your prerogative to review what option works best for you and make an informed decision.
It is important to understand that the services offered by alternative leasing companies or personal contract purchases (PCP) may not always be comparable to Tusker.
Tusker support our driver with the required maintenance being incorporated into the agreement meaning that any routine servicing, and other wear and tear items such as tyres, brake pads and discs, windscreen wipers etc. are supported within the package.
Insurance is also incorporated within the Tusker scheme and supports our drivers with a favourable premium, despite any reference to ‘no claims bonuses’ something which would have often resulted in increased costs for personal insurance policies.
However one of the biggest advantages for our drivers is that the monthly payments are deducted from your Gross Salary rather than making a Direct Debt payment from your Net take home pay like many other lease or PCP agreements.
We have carried out in depth research into the market and when compared to similar schemes with the same variables (mileage, vehicle, policy term etc.), Tusker come out cheaper or on par with our competitors.
We do however understand that we might not be the best option for everyone and we would always encourage drivers to review all their options and make an informed choice.

Tom when you look at what is included in the package it really is a great deal!
I have ordered a car recently and I'm awaiting delivery.
If I'd have ordered the car from the manufacturer, I would have had to put a minimum of £1000 down upfront, I'd have had 500 miles a year less, I'd have to cover the insurance, maintenence, service and breakdown costs but I'd have saved £30 a month by buying it direct from the manufacturer.
However that £30 is the gross price I pay for my Tusker vehicle, so really I'm saving £400+ a month plus the running costs of the vehicle.
      No brainer really!

When he said that the government is committed to increasing EV ownership, that really isn't true in some cases including a large chunk of public sector employees. Teachers are not allowed to have EV salary sacrifice under their standard terms, even if you try to get round that you lose out on pension entitlement. Other people in the local government pension schemes (including school support staff)also lose out on pension benefits, and hobbling your financial future for the environmental future is as stupid an idea as it sounds.
They know about this, it has been raised by MPs from the parliamentary EV group and the response, despite it taking at most 20 words of amendments to a couple of regulations, has basically been that they can't be bothered.

It depends on the vehicle you choose, spec and most importantly how many miles you do. An MG ZS was about £340pm based on 20K miles iirc. That was Trophy spec with metallic paint. An Ioniq5 would be closer to £600 and a Tesla M3 over £700. But there are plenty of smaller cars to choose from if they suit and if the mileage is less then the price falls quite dramatically.

The price calculation for a Salary Sacrifice agreement is impacted by a variety of factors such as, mileage, length of agreement, insurance, your own personal details such as age and location as well as tax allowances, as well as the chosen manufacturer’s vehicle costs at the time.
As a result of the unique factors impacting the vehicle quote, we can only provide accurate details once an employee has created an account and provided us with that information.

Interesting reading the comments slating Tusker😱 We have two EVs on salary sacrifice through them and had no problems. We got two cars that were on their coming soon list. One was about 6 weeks for delivery, the other was 12 weeks as it was delayed a little due to the chip shortage. No complaints here🤔

Most people who slate tusker actually have had to deal with them they took 5 days to get a punctured tyre replaced, when the boot refused to open on my m3 their response was ring the RAC and report a breakdown, for a stuck boot! I rang tesla myself and sorted it, i wish they rented televisions so i could refuse to rent one from them, i sincerely hope you have no issues with your EV’s because tusker wont be helping you

@@Chris-mh3vf that’s pretty poor😜t The only issue we’ve had between our two EVs so far was a screw in a tyre. Phoned Tusker up at 8pm, made an appointment and the following day at 4pm the kwikfit guy was at my house with another tyre in case the puncture could be be repaired. Ended up with a repair. Fingers crossed for no other issues 🤞🏻

There is something fishy going on at Fully Charged, I was an early subscriber when they were showing the way with electrification but that stopped when they started selling their good name for money, right after their logo change and Johnny departure. Oh well nothing stays the same I suppose.

    Avoid, avoid, avoid.
I messaged Paul the CEO twice. The first time a delayed response as he said he was on leave (no out of office on) and the second time there was no response at all.
Shambolic organisation which means fairly everyone doesn’t reply to emails, promises are broken, a feeling that they just don’t care.
I fully appreciate there was a chip shortage, but managing expectations doesn’t require much. Basic comms.
I asked for a gesture of goodwill given the significant inconvenience I was put to, which was attainable to them, and it was flatly refused. Easily dealt with from my perspective.
My company will not, ever use them again and when ever asked I will be honest and candid about my experience.

      Good Afternoon Philip,
Thank you again for raising your concerns with Tusker.
We did receive your communication and emails regarding your experience and this was directly reviewed and as the Resolutions Manager here at Tusker this was overseen by myself personally.
As we discussed in great detail, on this occasion the manufacturer changed the standard model specification to expedite their orders where possible. Standard model specification changes do come at the discretion of the vehicle manufacturer and although understandably frustrating changes can be implemented at any time and are outside the control of Tusker.
The changes which were implemented on this occasion were done so to support the manufacturers order bank timeframe. We have unfortunately seen similar instances with other manufacturers and again we completely appreciate the impact which this has had for our Tusker drivers.
Manufacturers have made changes to their vehicle to as a result of the current shortage of semiconductor microchips and to improve the current timeframe for factory orders.
Once more I was sorry that this occurred to your order, however, it was outside of the control of Tusker. As a result of the changes we did approach the manufacturer on your behalf in relation to the disappointment you experienced and a subsequent goodwill gesture was agreed.
We wholly sympathise and understood your grievances and your feedback regarding how we cascade such feedback as above was reviewed by our Order and Deliveries Team Management.
I acknowledge that you still feel disheartened by your experience of Tusker and I am sorry, I trust moving forward you will only experience the positives that come with driving a new Tusker vehicle, however, if there is anything do feel free to contact me.
      Kind Regards

Now do they own the vehicle in the end or is it a lease?

    • @Tuskercarscheme
      @Tuskercarscheme 2 роки тому

Thank you for your comment, allow me to offer some further detail.
Tusker offer a service referred to as ‘Salary Sacrifice’, rather than making a monthly direct debt or loan payments for your vehicle, the monthly deduction will be administered by your employer via a deduction off your Gross Salary. Your Sacrifice covers your usage of the vehicle along with the added benefits,
Tusker support our driver with the required maintenance being incorporated into the agreement meaning that any routine servicing, and other wear and tear items such as tyres, brake pads and discs, windscreen wipers etc. are supported within the package.
Insurance is also incorporated within the Tusker scheme and supports our drivers with a favourable premium, despite any reference to ‘no claims bonuses’ something which would have often resulted in increased costs for personal insurance policies.
At the end of your vehicle agreement the majority of leasing companies will require the return of the vehicle as such there are no options to retain the vehicle. At Tusker we give our drivers the option of a price to purchase at the end of their Salary Sacrifice agreement, effectively purchasing the vehicle at its current value, with the additional benefit that you are aware of the vehicles history, having had the vehicle in your possession since new.
      Kind Regards
      Tusker

I bought my last bicycle on salary sacrifice, which was nice. A key point was after the bike "hire" period ended I paid a nominal fee to own it. Do Tusker offer similar?

As part of my application with tusker I did read that they can offer a purchase fee at the end if you wish to own the car. But I understand it is not always offered. I guess it depends on the car you choose and how long you’ve leased it for. Whether it makes economic sense for them to sell it to you or to a trader.

      Good Afternoon Tim,
Following the end of your Salary Sacrifice agreement, Tusker do have the option to review options regarding the purchase of the vehicle with you.
A huge benefit to taking such an option is you are aware of the history of the vehicle.

Tusker are an awful company to deal with, I've got 2 complaints in with them that have not been addressed. Their customer service is non-existent and crucially their prices are a complete rip-off where they're pocketing huge sums from your salary that's not paying down the car itself.

Good Afternoon and thank you for your feedback,
There are different ways that drivers can finance, buy or lease vehicles and as the consumer it is your prerogative to review what option works best for you and make an informed decision.
At the end of your vehicle agreement the majority of leasing companies will require the return of the asset as such there are no options to retain the vehicle. At Tusker we give our drivers the option of a price to purchase at the end of their salary sacrifice agreement, effectively purchasing a used vehicle with the additional benefit that you are aware of the vehicle history, having had the vehicle in your possession since new.
However one of the biggest advantages for our drivers is that the monthly payments are deducted from your Gross Salary rather than making a Direct Debt payment from your Net take home pay like many other lease or PCP agreements.
Savings can also be made by employers, which is something the team would be happy to discuss should you wish to contact us on 0333 400 1010.
We have carried out in depth research into the market and when compared to similar schemes with the same variables (mileage, vehicle, policy term etc.), Tusker come out cheaper or on par with our competitors.
We understand that we might not be the best option for everyone and we would always encourage drivers to review all their options and make an informed choice.
      Kind Regards
      Tusker

      Hi Chris,
I was sorry to read your comments below, In relation to the boot concerns you mentioned, warranty investigation would be required and the vehicle would need to be booked into the dealer via fleet Assist on 0333 400 8080. I am sorry you were advised to contact the RAC, Tusker vehicles do have RAC, however, unless the vehicle is immobilised then you should not have been directed there but ratehr booked in with the manufacturer for investigation.
As advised, I can always be reached on Resoltuions@tuskerdirect.com or via request on 0333 400 2020

In my option at the moment Tesla is equivalent to an I-Phone and all the rest of the EV manufacturers are the android market. It’s all down to the charging infrastructure. Tesla has the infrastructure in place but the other EV manufacturers are relying on private charging companies to provide the charging infrastructure. Anyone who has an EV that isn’t a Tesla has had experience of these private charging companies not keeping their charging stations in working condition or the software for some reason fails. It’s it about time the Government to the rains of EV charging infrastructure as they are the driving force behind the 2030 cut off for fossil fuel engine manufacturing ceasing. Come on Boris go out with bang and let’s get the general EV charging infrastructure sorted out and also bring back the cash incentive to buy an electric car.
