    I am deciding to pick meteor because I think dominar is a sports bike. In any angle it doesn't feel like a cruiser it's like an ugly combination of sports bike and a cruiser. Not hating on any. But i feel that meteor will be a better choice because of the extraordinary comfort and refined engine. And yes meteor also picks a decent speed. Yes dominar is a great bike with alot of power but it ain't a cruiser. Also nice review buddy keep it up you also reply to literally every comment, you just gained a sub.

      With lots of power but not a cruiser! What does it mean?? When you have enough power you can cruise at 110, 120 all day long.. engine will be smooth no struggling.. less vibes.. wide handle bar, good ergonomics..these are the characteristics of good cruiser right?? You might chose RE just because they upgraded their pathetic classic 350 engine and sofa like seat that's it.. in all other aspects dominar ticks all right boxes..

    Meteor 350 is much better as compared to Dominar 400. I'm talking about its mileage, build quality and looks and overall riding quality. I have seen people riding dominar in 45-50 kmph in higher gears to get better mileage. What's the need to buy it then.

      Whoa Kaushik, that's a harsh comment. I believe you own a Dominar 400 and hence you couldn't take the fact of it's vibrations, resulting into your agony. Ofcourse RE has had been notoriously known for it's vibrations and poor build quality, but you must ride the Meteor 350 once, to have a change in your perspective.
      And I ain't obsessed with any bike. Not even with my smooth and high revving Ninja 300. If there are issues, they have to be addressed/discussed openly, regardless of how obsessed you are with your priced possession.

    • @FTRClub

      Both bikes are brilliant. Highness has better top end and can cruise at 120 all day long, literally stress-free, while Meteor will do fine upto 105-110 kmph. Meteor has much more relaxed riding posture and instrument console is easy to read even in broad daylight. The headlight spread is more usable in Meteor, though it gets halogen bulb, unlike LED in Highness.
      And then you will get RE service centers at every corner of the country, if you like to travel a lot. The engine on Meteor is more tractible in city. The only concern is that RE has had been known for rusting and other similar build quality issues, which isn't the case with Honda.
      If I were to pick one personally, I'd pick the Meteor as I loved the riding posture on that bike and it's more comfortable for my better half.

      Hi Albin,
      Hope you are doing well. Unfortunately I didn't get a Dominar 250 from a showroom near an RE dealership and vice-versa. However, I rode the Dominar 250 when comparing it against the Gixxer 250.
      For 2.12 Lakhs (on-road Bangalore), I found it to be brilliant value for money if I have to compare it with a Meteor 350 (@2.38L on-road Bangalore). Ofcourse due to the nature and design of the engine, Dominar is punchier than the Meteor. Dominar offers almost everything the Meteor has to offer plus a more responsive engine, better headlights, suspension and better brakes than the Meteor. The only thing it misses is the Tripper display.
      Hope this helps. Again, I am really sorry for not being able to compile a video with both bikes together.

    After sale service of both the company? I have heard that Dominar 400 is slightly difficult for Bajaj Service Centre people to even find issues with the bike especially front low end pipe which turn into orange color for no reason like.

    • @FTRClub
      @FTRClub  2 роки тому

      The discolouration of exhaust is very normal thing and that's something you will find even in big expensive bikes with stock or expensive custom exhausts. Quality on both bikes is definitely questionable as the manufacturer is attempting to offer a lot with a low price tag. Meteor's recent price hike is ridiculous for the equipment that it offers. After sales with Bajaj is definitely better than RE as the Dominar goes onto a separate bay in service centres and the technicians are separately trained for this.
      Hope this helps.

  • @drgeetchadha
    @drgeetchadha 3 роки тому +1

    While this is an apples to oranges comparison, I did feel the reviewer was biased towards the RE. The dead giveaway was when he said that the RE "would be more comfortable for longer trips", I rode the RE a few days ago and can assure you that you cannot do touring on the Meteor without modifying the seat as it seems comfortable but 30min into the ride and your back and buns starts to ache due to the non-compliant seat. This was not the case with the Dominar.
    Also as correctly pointed out by other people, the reviewer is comparing an older model to a brand new RE bike. I'm sure it must be difficult getting a review unit but that should've been mentioned at the start of the review. I'm guessing that the RE belongs to the Reviewer and hence this video justifying his choice in buying the RE.
    Anyway, I'm still confused between the RE and the Dominar. The Bajaj is definitely the better bike (on paper or on the road), I rode them both in the last two weeks and found the RE to be more "looks" than performance. The only issue is aftersales, bajaj has a very bad rep. Don't know about the RE. Maybe the reviewer should've covered this as well.

    • @FTRClub
      @FTRClub  3 роки тому

      Hello Dr. Chadha,
      I am glad that you watched the entire video. I was asked by some of my subscribers to compare the 2 bikes, ofcourse I admit missing to tell in the beginning about the Domi being a BS4 model. And the RE was a test ride bike hence the video was shot in decathlon. Else, I'd have shot it at a place with much nicer looking background. 😄
      I've ridden a friend's Meteor 350 for 140kms last week, without breaks and hadn't faced any issue with the seat's cushioning. However, you might perhaps be correct else why would RE sell Touring seat as an accessory.
      And for the verdict, I encouraged people to look at the lower variants of RE if they had a restricting budget.
      Else, Dominar 400 at it's price is unarguably a good value for money product with superior engine, tech and brakes (-after sales).
      Hope you agree. 🤝🙏

    • @drgeetchadha
      @drgeetchadha 3 роки тому

      @@FTRClub Hey,
      Hmmm. I see. I thought you owned the RE. Well then you owe it to yourself to ride the BS6 Dominar. There is no vibration to speak of unless you're going 140kmph and the bike is just a joy to ride on the highway. Very nice exhaust note too.
      Simply said, dominar is the better bike for your money, unless ofcourse you're looking to buy a bike just for looks; the dominar is pretty simple looking. It is definitely big and chunky but not a headturner.
      There's something more important to note too. While the RE has been known to make bikes which are pretty robust, the meteor was anything but. Plastic everywhere. The quality is good but if someone is looking to buy a bike just for the classic RE feel, the Meteor disappoints. RE literally took the thunder out of the bird if you catch my drift.
      Anyway, the problem with both bikes is that neither is an ideal bike to have for the city. The RE is clunky and not very ergonomic while the Dominar is no different.
      I'll be riding the 250 dominar next week. I'm hoping it will be a good compromise between features and performance at the expense of raw power.

      @FTRClub  3 роки тому

      Hi Bimal,
      For Hilly areas you need bike which have good torque and the torque should be available at lower RPM. And this can be found in bikes which have long stroke engines, basically the Stroke will be twice the bore, what is also called as the Under-square engine. Bikes like Himalayan, Meteor, Honda Hiness, RE Classic 500 etc have such engines, where the torque dominates the power. Such engines won't need a lot of down-shifting.
      On the other hand over-square engines likes Duke 200/390 and Dominar etc make more power than torque, have higher top speeds and again need a lot of down-shifting.
      In-short, bikes with long stroke engines (making more torque) is what you should be looking for. Hope this helps brother.

      As you might be knowing, the pricing would depend on various conditions like bike's condition including wear and tear, availability of similar models in the used market etc. 8k kms is very less to be honest and nothing needs to be replaced at those little kms. Perhaps the brake-pads as you said you are from hilly areas. However you can expect a depreciation of nearly 30% (+/- 5%) depending on city. Unfortunately people (in used market) would say it's BS4 (some may say it's outdated, as I have witnessed people saying this 😡) and that it makes 5PS lesser than current gen and all of that, but you know how much of those extra 5BHPs can be used in your region.

      Hey Rakesh,
      Darn I hate this question, it makes me feel like a dwarf. 🤣🤣 Just kidding.
      Based on my discussion with one of the Meteor owners, who happens to be 6ft 1inch, he said he didn't feel cramped on this bike. The seat is big enough for taller people to sit backwards and be in a comfortable posture while reaching out to the handlebar. The footpegs are very well placed towards the front, hence that didn't cause any issue to the owner either.
      And about the Dominar, the owner of this bike is 6ft tall and it fits him perfectly, just that his knees hurt a bit due to the position of the footpegs.
      Hope this helps my brother.

      If you want a naked type, check out the Suzuki Gixxer 250/250SF.
      If you like the retro/cruiser style, try the Meteor 350 or the Highness or CB350 RS.
      If you are okay to sacrifice with the power and want an easy to maintain 250cc bike, Yamaha FZ25 will be ideal. You will get good fuel economy plus a super build quality and Yamaha's reliability too.

      If you like aggressive riding, go with the Dominar. That thing can go seriously fast and is a brilliant value for money proposition for all the tech it offers.
      However, if you like cruising at steady pace of 100-110kmph and prefer a more relaxed cruising posture, go with the Meteor.
      The Dominar does feel a bit cumbersome in tight city traffic due to poor turning radius and front heavy design, whereas the Meteor is slightly better.
      I'd say, you try both and go with whichever bike you feel connected with. That's what is most important when you own a bike, issues and niggles will always be there no matter which bike you buy.

The power delivery is very linear and that bike would never look old even if you look at it 30 years from now.

    I am a meteor owner. Absolutely loving it. Dominar cannot be your single bike in the garage. For daily commutes in traffic you will suffer a lot. Even with liquid cooling it does not work well. However, in the Meteor it is very agile, the engine feels very premium, and the comfort is on next level. Whether you want to take it in busy traffic or off-road or long highways this does it with ease. One whole package sort of. Dominar is the king of highway cruising. No one can match its speed in that budget. But again you wont be happy with its city performance in traffic. I am suprised how well Meteor manages the weight distribution and engine heating. Great engineering from RE ❤️

      @@FTRClub yes. For an average joe who will use the bike 70% time in busy city traffic and 30% highway rides Meteor makes a strong statement. Plus the built quality is very premium. I am surprised how well RE has managed heat distribution with air-oil cool engine which is supposed to be very basic in pen and paper. Due to its lesser power Meteor also returns a better mileage of around 35-37kmpl whereas on Dominar its around 22kmpl.

    This dude is horrible. Comparing an old bs4 2018 dominar with a newer 2020 Meteor 350. And just because bajaj delars were rude to you, as u hav written in other comments, u just bashed at dominar 400 and did a completely biased review. Not fair bro.

      Hey Brother,
      Well guess what, should you watch the video until the end, you'd actually find me encouraging people to buy the Dominar 400, for it being the best value for money proposition in the market, ever. 11:15 is where you should jump onto, to see the verdict. In all fairness the BS6 version hasn't really done away with the vibrations and that's primarily due to the engine being a free revving single.
      And regarding the dealership, they were kind enough to lend me the Dominar 250 which again came out to be the winner against Meteor 350, just like the Dominar 400.

    Looks like a 'biased' comparison.

      Well brother, I am sorry you felt so. While I've ridden this particular bike (Dominar 400) for hundreds of kms and love the way it builds & delivers power, but it comes with it's fair share of issues.
      I've previously owned and sold an RE Classic 500 due to it's pathetic build quality, vibrations, oil leaks etc. However, REas brand have come a long way further and have dramatically improved their product line-up. But it can still not beat the value for money proposition that Dominar offers. Hence, I said if you have the budget go with the Dominar else, the Meteor is just amazing.

      Hi Sumit,
      Sorry you felt it is biased. Should have I been biased, I would have spoken better about the Dominar in this video as it belongs to my closest friend. The fact is, RE has done a brilliant work with the Meteor and they deserve a pat on their back. However, at the end I have concluded that the Dominar 400 is a better value for money proposition. Take a look through the end once.
      Hope this helps, my friend. Ride safe and stay safe.
