Geographer 4 fun well many pilipinos have no discipline. Many pinoy riders are idiots. Sila pa matatapang ng wala sa lugar. Sad truth

It must have been quiet early in the morning as the roads are quite quiet but it's still a great example of why you need 100% concentration on a motorbike. Thanks.

Yes sir. You got a keen eye for observing that detail. Indeed we need all our attention driving in Manila especially this coming 2016 where I'm expecting heavier traffic ahead and can result to many accidents, if you are in a motorcycle, well let's hope that never happen. Thanks for complementing. Merry Christmas and Happy new year.

Yes this is a sad truth about motorcycling in the Philippines...violation of one makes you violate another...dapat ang traffic rules ay ituro na sa primary and secondary levels

Having ridden in a number of countries, including the Philippines, I can say that the drivers AND riders here are the worst I have ever seen. One major problem are the U-turn slots on main roads. Drivers particularly force there way across, Another big problem is the lack of use of turn indicators. Drivers simply change lane whenever they feel like it. The police presence is non-existent. Finally, the worst problem of all are the jeepneys...filthy, smoke-belching, polluting, and not fun to ride in.

Ever ridden with giant trucks and/or busses on the road? Cause let m e tell you, even in a car, it's very uncomfortable since those trucks are very old and those busses are very dangerous, me and me dad had one close encounter where the bus was about 3 cm from our car and yeah.... pretty unpleasent... I had to roll down my window and had to try knocking on his window to get his attention

United Computers I completely agree with you. People here just know how to drive, but dont know how to be a good driver. all those road signs and highway lines are useless to an irresponsible driver.
I wish i was american. HAHAHAHAHAHA

The little bikes are good over there, you cant go fast the traffic is too congested. 200cc is a big bike over there. If you go to the provinces that's where you need horsepower as the coastal traffic will hit 110 kph and you need to be able to stay clear of the loonies. Around the cities they have awful accidents where the trucks clean up the motorbikes and they end up being so much raspberry jam on the hotmix. I call there traffic there "organised chaos" its unreal. If you hit someone there lookout as it can be straight to jail. Justice works in a funny way there.

And this is why you need a helmet + helmet cam, so that you can be extra sure that you are going to have footage if anything happens

I would love to have my bike in the Philippines but after having driven a car around Luzon I discovered a few things. The traffic is still bad even after your far from Manila, no one ever follows the rules of the road, the biggest car wins, and big bikes don't work in the Philippines as its hard to exceed 50 km/hour. I would rarely get out of second gear there. A nice little 200 cc bike is all you would need there. It seems easy enough to die here in Canada on a bike; riding one in the Philippines - hmm - I'm still debating.

+Joseph Howard I road a motorcycle out of necessity in Manila because the traffic was going to drive me crazy and I can always get places faster on a bike, sometimes 2/3x faster. While a motorcycle is never safe in any country (I read 28 times more likely to die in an accident than a car - USA stat) , I'm not entirely sure its less safe to ride in Manila than it is in Canada or the USA. Cars are generally going slower when they do have an accident in the philippines so less deaths per accident probably, and sense the Cars to Motorcycle ration is so high (maybe even more motorcycles than cars I'm not really sure) there are going to appear to be a lot more accidents. I also think the Filipino drivers know how to actually use there breaks better than they do in the united states so that might help the severity of accidents. It would be interesting to know death rate in Philippines on motorcycle to those in the west, I'm not entirely certain its worse, it is certainly scary to ride in the philippines at times. Injures from accidents are also probably much worse sense so many ride without helmets, shoes, or have 2 or more riders on under powered bikes. What scared me most in riding a motorcycle in Manila was always the buses in heavy traffic because these drivers are very aggressive, have poor suspensions, bad breaks, and drive to fast and its hard for drivers see bikes when your close to them.
