@@AndyJelloDurAbsolutely. As much as it flopped a bit, it had great ideas and most of the villains slapped, in terms of design. All forms of Baby and Baby Vegeta, Super #17, Eis, Nuova, and Syn/Omega Shenron looked sweet! Super #17 is my favorite design wise, and fight wise, he was SMOOTH with it! And while the other Shadow Dragons look... disappointing to say the least, you can't say they aren't unique at least, you can tell the difference from a silhouette , well except for Eis and Nuova because they are twins...but their postures are different so there is that. Plus Super Saiyan 4 is by far the best looking transformation, even if it was outclassed in power by SSG, SSGSS, UI, MUI, and UE. GT was full of good ideas, just put together weirdly. But that finale episode was 10/10 emotionally.
-Dragon Ball is the first, it tells the story of Goku and his friends since he was a child until he's a teenager. -Dragonb Ball Z takes place 5 years after Dragon Ball -Dragon Ball GT takes place 5 years after the end of DBZ -Dragon Ball Kai is basically a remaster of DBZ with no filler and enhanced visuals -Dragon Ball Super takes place immediately after DBZ. (DBS and DBGT are two completely different dimensions and separate continuations of the story)
@@relic5752Yeah no. Because at this point there’s no physical way Super can be implemented into the original Z ending without it being a retcon mess. DBS is an entirely different continuity now.
@@Whoisthatguy906 I don't disagree with that, but frustratingly Super has been *very* particular timeline wise about never going past End of Z, despite the fact that it is already a contradictory mess if they tried to connect the two. Personally I would have preferred if we got past that point timeline wise to be able to freely make character development that matters.
@@borjaja5240 Nope because by the time Goku was supposed to meet Uub in the original Z, he’s going to space fighting a recolored Frieza in DBS. lol Super is its own universe at this point and the main Dragon Ball timeline ended with Z.
The ‘Z’ in DBZ was originally intended to signal it was the final epic chapter of Dragon Ball, which had already gone on for over 150 episodes. But it was SO epic and popular that they just kept renewing it until its episode count surpassed dragon ball itself. So the Z is ironic in that DBZ ended up being the launching pad for the franchise as we recognize it today!
Wrong. It were just marketing... The manga has always bee called Dragon Ball, and no official source has confirmed that Akira wanted to stop then. Th3 manga continued between the two, but it was the anime that stopped a moment and came back with the Z thing.
(Loud incorrect buzzer) Wrong. The manga has started to become more serious so the anime studio wanted to differentiate dragon ball so they just gave the show a new name and continue working like normal. There were no breaks with the transition. One week was dragon ball and next week was dragon ball z. The manga kept continuing and it didn’t have a name change unlike the American version of the manga where it separated the two.
You're right classic Dragon Ball doesn't have a lot of fan but because most of people didn't have watched. I am sure that who watched it love it so much.
Shoot, if I remember, “Kai” can be used to mean something like “custom / customized” / “modified” / “revised”. But mostly I remember it being used in old mecha/robot shows to denote special robots. It might not be a common usage. But Dragon Ball Z Kai is a remake of the original DBZ with updated animation and better pacing, so “Kai” makes sense.
Dragon Ball is such an amazing story. It literally has everything you can imagine. Dragons, Magic, great fights, good animation for it’s time, crazy imagination, unpredictable plot twists and more. You never know what’s going to happen next
The 'purple-haired guy' from the GT opening was one of the children from the second DBZ opening. The last few episodes of DBZ happen following a 10-year timeskip, and then GT takes place another 5 or 10 years after that.
Watch everything in the order that it was released. Regardless of what anyone says. If you start with the OG dragon ball then you will be a lot more confided in the story as I was. You will not regret it
This is a good suggestion. I know people will say not to watch GT since it doesn’t count as canon anymore (outside of Heroes and video games) but I would recommend watching it just to experience it. While it’s not my favorite it is still nostalgia for my childhood.
It’s definitely necessary to watch the series in order so you can get the full understanding. Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z or Dragon Ball Z Kai (more condensed and less filler), DBZ Battle of Gods, DBZ Ressurection F then finally Dragon Ball Super
@@yokingstream1005 In Battle Of Gods, he underestimates Beerus. Despite being taught not to do that way back in Dragonball. They made him incredibly stupid as to not even know what a kiss is, despite having two children. And most recently, he knocks meditation and says it's not a useful part of training, despite Master Roshi's and Kami's teachings. They made him forget every valuable lesson he's learned prior.
@@yokingstream1005 And it's not just Goku, let's take a look at Gohan. In the five years between Z and GT, Gohan had been keeping up with his training and balancing it with his daily life. In Super, he doesn't even remember how to turn Super Saiyan. There is an entire movie showing how Gohan fell off.
10:14 Goku being naked is kind of a gag in early Manga(And I mean Gag Manga in general, not just Dragon Ball). It's fine to show as long as it's meant as a joke though later on they have shown Gohan, Goku's son in Z completely naked after turning back from being an Oozaru(Great ape). There was a joke in Dragon Ball where Hasky, a thief pretending to be a fortune teller tries to steal the Dragon Balls from Goku by stating about "Two balls in your possession" and asked to see them. And Goku being innocent(He didn't know about the difference between a boy and a girl until he was 12) straight up pulled his pants down and showed his "Dragon Balls."
To avoid any confusion, there are 2 ways to watch Dragon Ball. Manga continuity: Dragon Ball Dragon Ball Kai Dragon Ball Super Anime continuity: Dragon Ball Dragon Ball Z Dragon Ball GT DBGT is the official sequel to DBZ in the anime, DBS continues the manga "Dragon Ball" and not DBZ. If you watch DBZ and then DBS it's confusing because in DBZ Freeza was free to walk around in hell in the Boo Saga, but in DBS Freeza was locked in the cocoon the whole time. That's why there was Dragon Ball Kai again as an anime, which takes place in the manga continuity where the fillers from DBZ (which are part of DBZ) don't appear.
@@knightofenigma There is no canon in Dragon Ball. The official main story is the manga (Dragon Ball - DBS) DBGT is a side story about what happened outside of the main story in the anime. There is no canon that excludes DBGT, in Japan DBGT is seen as an official sequel to DBZ, and the entire Dragon Ball timeline was shown again in the teaser trailer from DB Daima: Dragon Ball (Manga) Dragon Ball (Anime) DBZ DBGT DBS DBS Movies and then the DB Daima trailer came. If DBGT wasn't included, then the DBGT wouldn't show. Akira Toriyama has never called Dragon Ball canon or non-canon, the fans have given Dragon Ball canon.
Dragon Ball. Its the first one cronologically. It's focused primarily in the Adventure of looking for the dragon balls. It has good fights, and I would say more creative ones, contrary to Z and forward were power level became more important that actual ability. Dragon Ball Z. Cronologically, starts a few years after the ending of Dragon Ball, were now Goku has a child, and the saiyans are introduced. There is a time skip in Z, with Goku's son (Gohan) as a teenager. Dragon Ball GT. The ending of Z was supposed to be the end of the series. But GT was a continuation a few years after that ending, it tried to recreate the sense of adventure of the first dragon ball. Here due to some shinanigans Goku gets trasformed back into a child. Dragon Ball Z Kai. Is a remake of dragon ball Z but with a faster pase without any filler. Dragon Ball Super. It's a more "cannon" continuation of dragon ball Z. It changes complitely the GT lore. It introduces a multiverse
Fun Facts about the franchise. Also, to clarify. Goku has kids in Dragon ball z going forward. They look so similar because Goku and a few others are part of an Alien race thats nearly extinct. You can tell that Z was super inspired by Superman comics specifically because Z starts with this info from the jump. Also Z started immediately after Ball ended. So the next chapter was Goku like 8 years later. Its the first really famous time skip in shounen anime.
Just so you know the DBZ opening and DBZ in general is in 4:3, the format was just cropped to 16:9, because people tend to think it makes it look "newer" but you just loose half of the content of the screen
Before I mention the series chronology, I just want to mention that Dragon Ball Kai: The Final Chapters opening was only in the dub. Kai was massively unpopular in Japan so they finished Kai for the West where it was popular (which is why that opening was in English) before finally releasing the episodes in Japan, albeit butchered because they wanted to release it before Super aired for the first time, and it didn't keep the name "The Final Chapters". Japan got a different opening for those final episodes. Now, watching in order is highly recommended: Dragon Ball - The original Dragon Ball Z - The original sequel, it's full of filler and there's a better way of experiencing Z Dragon Ball Z Kai - This series took Z and removed as much filler as possible while making the pace much better. Highly recommended to do this instead, ESPEIALLY if you watch dub Now, there's 2 sequels to Z: Dragon Ball GT - This series has since been deemed non-canon now that Super exists and does everything in its power to make GT unviable as canon, but it was made as an anime-only continuation that tried to capture the essence of the original. It's not super popular and it isn't perfect, but I love it regardless (and kind of consider it the real canon over the other alternative) Dragon Ball Super - The new canon continuation to Z. This series is also a bit controversial with a split fanbase for many issues, but it's still worth a watch. I couldn't say go for one or the other, I think both have their own merit and are worth watching once Z is finished. And then finally: Super Dragon Ball Heroes: lol
@@GodwinXZ That's an opinion and issue based on your first exposure being the original Z. You can't deny that to a new viewer, Kai is just the objectively better way to experience it.
BACKGROUND TIME! Dragon Ball is an action adventure comedy following a young boy, Son Goku. A teenage girl, Bulma runs into him and later enlists Goku's help to find the 7 magical dragon balls, for when they do, they can summon the wish granting dragon to grant a wish. In between every arc there's a tournament arc. In America, you most likely did not see this as a kid because this was aired on broadcast TV after Dragon Ball Z had ended. I'm running on shoddy info here as there seems to be a major set of inconsistencies about when exactly Dragon Ball did air on Toonami. Dragon Ball Z follows Goku's life after his son, Gohan, is born. Things get crazy fast and there's no brakes on this ride. So much that even Goku barely has a chance to show much of an idiot he still is. You definitely have seen at least one episode of Dragon Ball Z. The show's popularity kicked off big time in the middle of the 2nd arc, which is when the dubbing company switched casts and staff. The opening, music, and even dialogue were "localized" to market for an American kid's cartoon network. Also for many American fans who are especially nostalgic for the blatantly inconsistent first dub, they started watching DBZ mostly in the middle of the 2nd arc. And I don't mean this as a hateful thing, but you don't need to know the original Japanese version to see the plot holes and inconsistencies that exist only in the first Funimation dub of this. They ran re-runs of this for the longest time. Dragon Ball GT follows Goku's life to the end. The dragon balls are dark now. Goku is accidentally changed back into a kid. Goku, his granddaughter, Pan, and Trunks go into space across the universe to find the dark dragon balls and bring them back to Earth. At least, THAT's how it started. This isn't based on the manga. It's an original creation made by the studio who adapted Dragon Ball to anime. It's hard to remember. The show was made to keep Dragon Ball going and to recapture that wonder in the adventure like in the old days of Dragon Ball. It fell short so hard they made it about the action and the ending of Dragon Ball. That too fell short cuz it was all slow, dull, and rushed. Funimation's dubbing of GT most certainly didn't help as it only added to how slow, dull, and rushed everything felt. It only aired once. It "happened" but it's not canon, especially with how Super introduced a number of contradictions to it. Dragon Ball Kai is Dragon Ball Z remastered for the HDTV some 20 years after Dragon Ball Z had originally ended. The Funimation dubbing really tried this time, but got backlash because it wasn't first cheap rush job that even they aren't that proud of. Among other stupid things unrelated to Kai itself. Dragon Ball Kai cuts out much of the filler and speeds up the pace now that it doesn't have to drag ass to wait on an ongoing manga to get done. Why -at the time- now? Lemme tell you about this western live action movie called Dragon Ball Evolution. It was so bad it angered Dragon Ball's creator into unretiring to make sure THAT will NOT be the last thing of Dragon Ball anyone will see. Dragon Ball Kai is here because of that and to ease fans and newcomers into Dragon Ball Super. Dragon Ball Super follows Goku's life between a 10(?) year long gap between the final villain's death and the ending episodes of Z. Things get wild as new heights in power and action are front and center. Sure it was a slow burn for the first three arcs. This is a special case as the anime and the manga have their own versions of what happened. If you ask me, stick to the anime and movies from Battle of Gods onward. The manga fell so far behind that it was making a mess of things and rushing things to hell and back despite getting like a year's head start. Currently, now the anime is progressing with major movie releases such as Super Broly and Super Hero, while the manga is doing.....something in its own time frame. Dragon Ball Heroes is based on a card(?) based video game. It is straight up NOT canon. At first it seemed like another promotional thing for the game, but at this point it's just a action rump where everyone involved said "FUCK IT Super Saiyan Blue Goku vs Super Saiyan 4 Goku is rad as fuck!" Would it be cool if. Let's just have some fun! lol All made perfectly explainable by time travel and magic and science and being so strong all of the above don't apply.
1. Super Saiyan 2. Super Saiyan 2 3. Super Saiyan 3 (long hair) 4. Super Saiyan 4 (GT and Heroes specific) 5. Super Saiyan God (Red form from opening 1 of Super) 6. Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan/Super Saiyan Blue (Blue hair)
Dragon Ball is not a "prequel" to Z per say, but Z takes place directly after it. They're technically just one long show with a name change a third of the way through. In the manga there was no Z in the title, it was just Dragon Ball from the beginning of what is called Dragon Ball in the anime to the end of what is called Z in the anime, but they changed the name partway through to try and get more people watching by promoting a new show. It's called Z because Toriyama, the guy that created the comic, though that he'd be ending it soon when the name change for the anime was going so when they asked what it should be called he just said Z since it's the last letter of the alphabet. He didn't even know when Z started when asked in an interview at one point since it's Dragon Ball and Z are technically just one long continuous series that's only split in the show version. For watching you should absolutely watch Dragon Ball before Z since that is the beginning. Going into Z is like starting The Two Towers before doing Fellowship of the Ring. Obviously Dragon Ball isn't as story-reliant a series as The Lord of the Rings, but that's the best comparison I can make. If you want a more in-depth look at the franchise's releases I give one over here (though be warned, there are opinions I have in it that various Dragon Ball fans might not agree with at times): ua-cam.com/video/-HbHQqSw9FI/v-deo.html
Heroes is basically a spin off, they go all out with every idea they have, without ruining the main line, in short is a dream that every fan wished for.
Dragonball first, then Z, Kai is Z but with remastered visuals and no filler, then you can either watch GT or Super. I recommend choosing GT, you'll be happier for it.
@@BenBenReacts GT isn't cannon if I can remember correctly. Its a bit different from the other Dragon Balls, but I still remember enjoying it, plus there are some really cool things that show up only in GT. But if u just want to follow the actual canon story, then watch Super. Super is very divisive, there are some really cool moments, but its brought down by below average animation at times and its story. Still recommend watching it tho, its far more enjoyable if u don't take it too seriously ^^
They look the same because they are related. Goku has 2 sons gohan (the guy with the black vest) and goten who is just a miniature of his dad. Also, the guy in the helmet is gohan as a superhero.
So as I haven’t seen it yet. When Goku first becomes a Super Saiyan it’s considered Grade 1 Vegeta shows Off Grade 2 during the Androids Saga. Trunks (Vegetas son from the future) shows off Grade 3 both are bulkier than normal Super Saiyan respectively. Goku and his son Gohan attain Super Saiyan Grade 4 or perfected Super Saiyan. Gohan attains Super Saiyan Grade 5 a/k/a Super Saiyan 2 after fighting the final boss of the Android Saga. Goku attains Super Saiyan 3 during DBZ’s final arc which was the long haired Super Saiyan form. GT introduced Super Saiyan 4 not necessarily a “Proper” Super Saiyan form but he gets it after becoming a Giant Ape or Oozaru and Stacking Super Saiyan on top of it. The DBZ movies Battle of Gods and Ressurection “F” Movies which had Arcs adapted in Dragon Ball Super introduced Super Saiyan God which the 1st Super opening Teased. He looks like his normal self just Red hair and a Fiery Aura. And the 2nd Super Opening showed Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan a/k/a Super Saiyan Blue which as the name suggests is a Super Saiyan God having gone Super Saiyan.(Try saying that 10 times fast).
There are seven Dragon Balls. If all seven are brought together, a person can summon Shen Long ("divine dragon"), who will then grant someone any wish. The balls then shoot out throughout the earth, and become ordinary rocks for a year. Dragon Ball Z Kai is a retelling of Dragon Ball Z with most of the filler taken out, so the anime episodes follow the pacing of the manga. They also touched up some of the animation and coloring from the original broadcast.
15:30 This opening ("Fight it Out") wasn't the original opening of DBZ Kai season 3, the original opening of season 3 is titled "Kuu-Zen-Zetsu-Go" and imo it's much better than this one.
6:22 - Dragon Ball > Dragon Ball Z/Kai (Kai being the HD remaster of Z) > Dragon Ball Super Dragon Ball GT is a non-canon/alternate sequel to Dragon Ball Z. Super Dragon Ball Heroes is a non-canon sequel to Dragon Ball Super to promote the Dragon Ball Heroes video card game.

its Dragon Ball Dragon Ball Z Dragon Ball Gt (non canon but official show) Dragon Ball Super and i highly recommend watching them in this order. also Dragon Ball Z happens maybe a few years after Og Dragon Ball
Dragonball fan for nearly 30 years here. Dragon Ball was created by Akira Toriyama and draws some of its inspiration from the Chinese novel Journey to the West. There have been many other adaptations of this novel in film, games, and other media. Maybe you've heard of The Monkey King? If I could choose only one series for you to watch it would be Dragon Ball Z. That is the show most known by everyone and most will refer to the lore from it. It is the definitive Dragon Ball whenever someone speaks on the series and most iconic events came from that one. Also, no, the entire series does not have over 1000 episodes, but it's not too far off. However, you really don't have to watch every episode. Also, be aware that movies and specials were made for Dragon Ball (DB), Dragon Ball Z (DBZ), and Dragon Ball Super (DBS). Most are non-canon but some are important to the core story. If you wish to experience it in its entirety, here is the order and some suggestions: 1. Dragon Ball (the start of the journey that introduces all the main core characters; has the most inspiration from Journey to the West). 2. DBZ (takes place 5 years after DB, but is a direct continuation and starts drastically steering away from anything associated with Journey to the West; most iconic moments happen here). 2a. DBZ Kai can be an alternate to DBZ. It is a remastered version of DBZ minus all the fillers. 3. DBS (this immediately follows after the events of DBZ, about a 1 year time skip; the manga is still running and it has not yet been announced whether more episodes will be released in the future). You can literally stop there. Everything else is just extra: 1. DBGT (takes place 5-10+ years after DBZ; is non-cannon to the series; some people really like to pretend this series never happened; however, it has some pretty awesome moments) 2. Super Dragon Ball Heroes (non-cannon promotional series for a card and video game; it is currently ongoing; the episodes are under 10 minutes; there's a lot of what-if scenarios and runs like an anime fanfiction series). 3. DBZ Abridged (a fandub made by TeamFourStar that is highly popular with fans that basically reuses footage from DBZ with fans dubbing voice overs for comical retelling of the show; you can watch this whenever; some youtubers have reacted to this instead of DBZ to avoid the hassle of watching a lot of episodes and avoid fillers and still were able to follow the story and enjoy it). Good luck!
Dragon Ball Z Kai is Dragon Ball Z but without Fillers, new openings and endings as well as some new title card art. GT is the sequel to Z which was carried on by the studio without the creator’s input. GT was pretty controversial but it has some interesting characters villains and the awesome Super Saiyan 4 transformation . Super Dragon Ball Heroes is a spin off web series which is full non-canon. It’s basically every universe has been linked together and basically is just to show different fights between the same characters of different time lines or movie characters or even entirely new characters thought up as part of the multiverse. It’s basically just for fan service Super is the true sequel which made GT non-canon.
A quick guide: - Dragon Ball - Dragon Ball Z (or DBZ Kai, DBZ Kai Final chapters) - Dragon Ball GT (or just skip it) - Dragon Ball Super - Super Dragon Ball Heroes (or skip it) Pd. DBZ Kai is DBZ without filler
"the dragon's red now" Oh, that's a different dragon. there's also a buff green one, a Dark Blue one, a Gold one, and a cyan one. technically all of the dragons are made by aliens
Dragon Ball is the first and the reason it is not as popular in some countries is, because they skipped it and started with DBZ (showing Dragon Ball only later) It's a great show and definitely the one people should start with. The arcs are shorter and fighting is more technical, but there is also more adventure and comedy here. Then as a direct sequel comes Dragon Ball Z/Dragon Ball Kai. Kai is a remake of Z that removed a lot of the filler episodes, which had to be created for DBZ, because the show had caught up to the manga. The pacing is also a lot better, people should definitely watch DB Kai over Z. There is more focus on fighting here, but this part is the most popular part of the series for a reason. Before continuing on I have to make something clear, all shows contain many time-skips. Kids from earlier shows grow up and start their own family. There is a 10 year time-skip at the end of Z/Kai were the last 3 or so episodes take place as an epilogue. Dragon Ball Super takes place between those 10 years, but it can and should be watched after Z/Kai. There's no reason to wait on those 3 final episodes. So that means Dragon Ball Super takes place after most of Z/Kai. For the first 2 arcs one can either watch the movie (Battle of the Gods and Revival of F) or watch the anime. They are mostly the same, I think the movies are better, but there is a little more story in the anime. The next 3 arcs exist only in anime form though. After Dragon Ball Super there are 2 movies. Dragon Ball Super Broly and Dragon Ball Super Super Hero. They are both great and at the moment, there is no alternative to get their story. There's actually more manga material that most likely will be adapted into a new anime soon, that will still fall in the Dragon Ball Super era. As for Dragon Ball GT: That story takes place after the final time-skip in Z/Kai and actually adds another time-skip on top. The story has pretty much been made non canon by Dragon Ball Super. It was basically a show made to cash in on the DB fandom without much input from the original author. The drop in quality is notable and I would only recommend this to people that still need more DB content after everything else has been consumed already. Still it contains some nostalgia and fan favorite characters/forms. As for Dragon Ball Heroes, the whole show is a huge what if and multiple universes colliding story. it's meant to promote a game and like Dragon Ball GT, I would only recommend this to the biggest fans. Then there is a whole lot of DB and DBZ movies. Unlike the DB Super movies, they had little input from the original author and were made as cash-ins. Some are better than others, basically none of them make sense in the context of the main story, so they are also more like what-if stories. Like GT and Heroes only watch them as a super fan. So recommended watch order: Dragon Ball -> Dragon Ball Kai -> Dragon Ball Super (first two arcs either as movie or series, rest anime) -> Dragon Ball Super Broly -> Dragon Ball Super Super Hero Optional: DBGT, DB Heroes, all other movies
the character who are similar are in the same family is because of that Goku - the dad gohan and goten the kids and vegeta and goku are from an another planet they are from a race called saiyen that because of that they look alike

OG Dragon Ball -> Dragon Ball Z-> Dragon Ball Super Dragon Ball Z Kai is a remaster of DBZ, and GT was supposed to be a sequel to DBZ but without input from the original designer, with DBS being the sequel. The canon is kind of hard to follow sometimes, and Super Dragon Ball Heroes is a completely separate canon from the main series.
Short story of dragon Ball series: Dragon Ball: parody of journey to the West. Dragon Ball z: sci fi and action elements. Dragon Ball gt (grand tour): final adventure of Goku by toie. Dragon Ball z Kai: the remake version of dragon Ball z. Dragon Ball z Kai final: the remake version of dragon Ball z part 2. Dragon Ball super : after event of dragon Ball z but different story later on. Dragon Ball hero: the fan service show cuz promote an arcade game.
*Dragon Ball:* Original/First Part *Dragon Ball Z:* Second Part *Dragon Ball GT:* 3rd Part/Filler (Alternate Timeline with a conclusion to franchise) *Dragon Ball Super:* 3rd Part/Canon (Main Timeline) DBZ Kai is just DBZ but with different dialogues, animation and fast pacing
Speaking of canon.... Dragonball doesn't have a canon, given that in Japan we talk more about narrative continuity than about canon. for dragonball we have 4 (I will talk about them in chronological order, not in release order) Toriyama's vision (original therefore): Original Dragonball Manga (with some small canonical parts in Dragonball z Kakarot, where it was expressly said that some things in that game are canon), Dragonball Daima, Dragonball super (anime.... yes not the manga), Dragonball super Broly, Dragonball super super hero. Vision of Toei animation: Dragonball, Dragonball Z, Dragonball Daima, Dragonball Super (Anime), Dragonball super Broly, Dragonball super:super hero Toyotaro's Vision (another theoretically canon vision): Toriyama's Original Manga, Dragonball Daima, Dragonball Super (Manga), Dragonball Super Broly Side Story viewing: Dragonball GT, Super Dragonball Heroes, some games from the saga such as Xenoverse
SPOIL: Basically, the main character is an alien (Saiyan), with the same situation as Super Man. As a child, he fought earth-level threats, as an adult other aliens with even more cosmic powers. Super Saiyans are evolved states of his race. Dragon Ball is a special item that grants wishes to the user.
A Brief Explenation : Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z are two different anime but they adapt the 2 part of the same Manga they are the only "Canon" (yeah their many spinoffs). DBZ Kai is a Remake of Dbz but shorter (they are many fillers in the original anime, that's easy to make because in Dbz their many Timeskip, for exemple one when two of main character try to learn how to drive cars) basically it's Dragon Ball but in accelerate for those who didn't have the time for the original. Then their the Spin Off : Dragon Ball Gt who was release only few weeks after the end of the original Dbz and was supposed to put an end to the whole license. It's not at the lvl of the original series but he as some incredible scene and moment (also the best transformation form at my opinion). Db Heroes is basically just an adaptation of a Japanese game with is own lore, it's complicated... It's not something to watch before having a full knowledge of the spinoffs (and of course the main series). And then their Dragon Ball Super... It's at the same time an Anime and a Manga but their different (basically DBS anime and DBS manga are different series) the serie took place in a major timeskip of the manga and was supposed to be canon but they messed up and he isn't anymore because they make too many mistake with the story. To be honest this series is just a big add for making kids buy new toy and is by far the worst of the license (the two movies DBS are correct however).
There were diferent songs for different iterations of Dragon Ball, but there was more variations to those openings for the diferent arcs of the story, if you are interested in watch all the variations to try to guess the story, you can watch the playlist in my channel, i created it with all the different versions that i could find on youtube, good luck guessing :D ua-cam.com/play/PLpsGAGO05v3j6RJ6ipi6ixNIJ3HYKENX1.html
My favourite is DragonBall, the classic, the beginning to Goku's true adventure. It has a far better fun story, traveling, proper enemies. It is not just about the fights, and powerful enemies. Also, you should watch the Dubbed version, I find it more catchy.
I recommend you react to the complete series! Start from the beginning-DragonBall-it'll be worth it! The first few episodes did not age too well, but once it gets to the last battle of the first martial arts tournament, you won't be able to stop watching it! And after the second world martial arts tournament, the plot gets insane!
in the dragon ball timeline 1 dragon ball 2 dragon ball z 3 dragon ball G T 4 dragon ball super and dragon ball z kai has no part in the timeline because it is dragon ball z but shorted and without filler but it is so so short it will never have anything on just watching dragon ball z
Dragon ball- story of Goku's adventure with his friends to sesrch for all 7 dragon balls to summon the dragon named shenron that makes wishes. Dragon Ball Z- is the continuation of Dragon ball that takes 5 years after Dragon Ball Dragon ball GT- takes place 5 years after Dragon Ball Z but its not canon to the main show Dragon ball Super- takes place after the story of Dragon Ball Z which makes it the canon/Official continuation of Dragon Ball Z. Super Dragon Ball Heroes- is an anime based card game that made an anime adaptation
The order is dragonball, dragonball z, and dragonball super Dragonball gt is a different franchise that doesn't go with he original franchise Dragonball z Kai is just a remake of the original show And the last dragonball z heroes is a whole different franchise that is a video game
Dragon Ball GT is a separate story that takes place years after Dragon Ball Z, but DBGT has nothing to do with the canon of the story, DBGT is just an extra series.
Dragon Ball Z Kai is a remastered version of DBZ, what this version included was that it did not have the filler chapters of the original series, it also had coloring and drawing corrections
It also included a new soundtrack and the original voices have different dialogues. Dragon Ball Superheros is a series that is based on the video game with the same name.
I would recommend DBZ. Its the best one imo. If you can't handle the length, I guess Kai can do since its DBZ but condensed ... I personnaly think Z is still better. Then Super is realy fun but has less depth than DBZ imo. DB original and GT are for those who have to see it all imo (Im one of them). Then you have at least 15 movies if you want to. What follows is a condensed story of all the series. I focus on when the power ups are achieved and mostly on Goku and Gohan (Goku's first son). I left out Vegeta because he becomes a core character and part of the team around mid-DBZ and my text is already very long. Before that he is either a villain or not quite part of the team and pretty much on his own. (still see him a lot though) DB is when Goku arrives on earth and is basically a kid to late teens/early adult. DBZ from that to until Gohan (first Goku's child) is late teen and Goten (second child, basically a clone of kid Goku how he looks) is 6 years old or so??? not sure but not a teen. DBZ Kai, is a condensed version of DBZ, about half the episodes. They didn't have to wait for the manga so they don't power-up as long during the episodes. It does cuts quite a bit of time. DBGT is considered NON Cannon however it has one of the most fun transformation at the end of the series (Super Saiya Jin 4). Its basically Goku as a Granpa being shrunk and going on adventure with Pan his granddauther (Gohan's daughter) and Trunks (Vegeta's son) until about mid to late series when they all meet back with the rest of the cast. Dragon Ball Super is Cannon and comes after DBZ. The purple cat thing is Berus. He is the god of destruction of Universe 7 (where earth exist in the universes). In this series you have a big part of the series where they participate in a tournament of Power against the other universes to determine which one will be Nuked by the supreme beings called Zeno. They are 2 and are twins. The dragon balls were created by the God of earth. (Kami) If you gather all 7, you can make a wish. It is possible, because only one race in the universe can create them, the Namekians we meet in DBZ second saga. Throughout the series, Shenron (the dragon that is summoned) get power up through stronger Kami's (Dende is the second kami, he comes into play in DBZ after about 100 episodes or so, Namekian, second Saga) He get stronger then powers-up the dragon ball through time when the story needs it basically. Goku's power up go from : normal, better control of his Ki/raw strenght to Kaio-Ken (red aura to increase his power) obtained from the god of the north area (one god for each cardinal point) of universe 7 called King Kai. After that they have a trip to Namek where Goku will achieve Super Saiyan (yellow hair and yellow aura) for the first time. Then he gets Super Saiyan 2 (same color but the hair is a bit more spiky/straight up) around episode 190 ish then will also achieve Super Saiyan 3 (yellow again but very very long hair on his back) near the end of DBZ but won't use it often because it requires too much energy to maintain active. Then it goes to GT where he stays basically the same Super Saiyan 2 or 3 until the end of the series where Super Saiyan 4 (look like a mix between human and ape) is achieved by him and one more character on the show. It an UN-Official transormation for now but one of the coolest. Then it goes to Super, where he will learn Super Saiyan God (red hair, red aura) then as the show progresses he learns Super Saiyan Blue, same look as the first 2 Super Saiyans but blue hair and aura. Finally at the end, he learns a new one that I won't spoil cause its the coolest so far. (imo) Gohan is similar but gets his debut in DBZ obviously cause Goku is old enough to have kids with Chi-Chi. He gets his first Super Saiyan transformation around 170 but he is rather special, because he won't use it for long. He basically skips to Super Saiyan 2 a few episodes later before Goku. Then around the end of DBZ he will get Ultimate Gohan which has his black hair but in the shape as Super Saiyan 2 and when he powers up, his aura is white ish. He looks quite a bit different than most Saiyans because he actually stays human looking. Gohans gets a new transformation in the movie Super Hero that came out most recently soooo ... as of now, it is debated (or I missed the official answer) that he might be stronger than Goku's latest DB Super transformation.
if you're starting the journey with dragon ball as well then fuck yeah, im down for this one along with one piece also all the dragon ball episodes put together are around 630 episodes

Definitely start with dragon ball first amazing story and character development the first 13 eps are slow but after that’s when the story takes off it’s amazing Then either start with Z or Kai I’d recommend watching Kai for the first 2 arcs because the acting is really bad at the start then switch to Z during the 3rd arc then again u can watch it in sub then after u finish Z than watch battle of gods and resurrection F don’t watch the anime until u finish those movies if u watch super without watching those your going to realize how bad the animation is it starts off rough idk why they remade these 2 arcs into the anime adaptation when they had movies then after u finish those movies then watch super and when u finish super watch gt. The first arc starts off rough but it gets better in a specific arc and then when u finish gt then you can make the decision to watch dragon ball heroes or anything like that.

Best dlc ever imo
The ‘Z’ in DBZ was originally intended to signal it was the final epic chapter of Dragon Ball, which had already gone on for over 150 episodes. But it was SO epic and popular that they just kept renewing it until its episode count surpassed dragon ball itself.

Manga continuity:
Dragon Ball
Dragon Ball Kai
Dragon Ball Super
Anime continuity:
Dragon Ball
Dragon Ball Z
Dragon Ball GT
DBGT is the official sequel to DBZ in the anime, DBS continues the manga "Dragon Ball" and not DBZ.
@@prinzludwig8052 You mean GT is Canon?
@@knightofenigma There is no canon in Dragon Ball. The official main story is the manga (Dragon Ball - DBS) DBGT is a side story about what happened outside of the main story in the anime. There is no canon that excludes DBGT, in Japan DBGT is seen as an official sequel to DBZ, and the entire Dragon Ball timeline was shown again in the teaser trailer from DB Daima:
Dragon Ball (Manga)
Dragon Ball (Anime)
DBZ
DBGT
DBS
DBS Movies
and then the DB Daima trailer came.
Now, watching in order is highly recommended:
Dragon Ball - The original
Dragon Ball Z - The original sequel, it's full of filler and there's a better way of experiencing Z
Dragon Ball Z Kai - This series took Z and removed as much filler as possible while making the pace much better. Highly recommended to do this instead, ESPEIALLY if you watch dub
Now, there's 2 sequels to Z:
Dragon Ball GT - This series has since been deemed non-canon now that Super exists and does everything in its power to make GT unviable as canon, but it was made as an anime-only continuation that tried to capture the essence of the original. It's not super popular and it isn't perfect, but I love it regardless (and kind of consider it the real canon over the other alternative)
Dragon Ball Super - The new canon continuation to Z. This series is also a bit controversial with a split fanbase for many issues, but it's still worth a watch.
I couldn't say go for one or the other, I think both have their own merit and are worth watching once Z is finished. And then finally:
Super Dragon Ball Heroes: lol
I disagree. Kai hurt to watch after watching the original Z. Couldn’t get over the voice changes.

If you wish to experience it in its entirety, here is the order and some suggestions:
Everything else is just extra:
1. DBGT (takes place 5-10+ years after DBZ; is non-cannon to the series; some people really like to pretend this series never happened; however, it has some pretty awesome moments)
It’s basically just for fan service
Super is the true sequel which made GT non-canon.
I subbed during your jojo reactions and im a big dbz fan glad to see this pop up in notifications
A quick guide:
- Dragon Ball
- Dragon Ball Z (or DBZ Kai, DBZ Kai Final chapters)
- Dragon Ball GT (or just skip it)
- Dragon Ball Super
- Super Dragon Ball Heroes (or skip it)
Pd. DBZ Kai is DBZ without filler
I feel like guilty crown openings would be great for you to react to💯
"the dragon's red now" Oh, that's a different dragon. there's also a buff green one, a Dark Blue one, a Gold one, and a cyan one. technically all of the dragons are made by aliens
So recommended watch order:
Dragon Ball -> Dragon Ball Kai -> Dragon Ball Super (first two arcs either as movie or series, rest anime) -> Dragon Ball Super Broly -> Dragon Ball Super Super Hero
Optional: DBGT, DB Heroes, all other movies
Well technically you can get Super Hero in the manga. But yeah not Broly since they just skipped him.
red is super saiyan god 1, blue is super saiyan god 2, and other one is ultra instinct
Dragon Ball is one of the first anime that I watched along with Voltes V & Yuyu Hakusho its legendary well 1990's kid knows this well 😏😅
I really like Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT + Dragon Ball Z Kai. I think Dragon Ball Super is not my cup of tea.
Yes, there are many levels beyond Super Saiyan.
OG Dragon Ball is the best one for me. Anyone who plans on making a dragon ball live action should start with it.
the character who are similar are in the same family is because of that

OG Dragon Ball -> Dragon Ball Z-> Dragon Ball Super
Dragon Ball Z Kai is a remaster of DBZ, and GT was supposed to be a sequel to DBZ but without input from the original designer, with DBS being the sequel. The canon is kind of hard to follow sometimes, and Super Dragon Ball Heroes is a completely separate canon from the main series.
Short story of dragon Ball series:
Dragon Ball: parody of journey to the West.
Dragon Ball z: sci fi and action elements.
Dragon Ball gt (grand tour): final adventure of Goku by toie.
Dragon Ball z Kai: the remake version of dragon Ball z.
Dragon Ball z Kai final: the remake version of dragon Ball z part 2.
Dragon Ball super : after event of dragon Ball z but different story later on.
Dragon Ball hero: the fan service show cuz promote an arcade game.
*Dragon Ball:* Original/First Part
*Dragon Ball Z:* Second Part
*Dragon Ball GT:* 3rd Part/Filler (Alternate Timeline with a conclusion to franchise)
*Dragon Ball Super:* 3rd Part/Canon (Main Timeline)
DBZ Kai is just DBZ but with different dialogues, animation and fast pacing
Speaking of canon.... Dragonball doesn't have a canon, given that in Japan we talk more about narrative continuity than about canon. for dragonball we have 4 (I will talk about them in chronological order, not in release order)
Toriyama's vision (original therefore): Original Dragonball Manga (with some small canonical parts in Dragonball z Kakarot, where it was expressly said that some things in that game are canon), Dragonball Daima, Dragonball super (anime.... yes not the manga), Dragonball super Broly, Dragonball super super hero.
Vision of Toei animation: Dragonball, Dragonball Z, Dragonball Daima, Dragonball Super (Anime), Dragonball super Broly, Dragonball super:super hero
Toyotaro's Vision (another theoretically canon vision): Toriyama's Original Manga, Dragonball Daima, Dragonball Super (Manga), Dragonball Super Broly
Side Story viewing: Dragonball GT, Super Dragonball Heroes, some games from the saga such as Xenoverse
You should check out the endings too.
looks like the z openings got zoomed in to cut the top and the bottom to fill a modern aspect ratio. by the uploader or some remaster releases.
Sadly those are the official release on blu ray. It just looks bad when it’s cropped like that
It’s called the Nimbus cloud. Nimbus for short.
well the creator when asked about gt called it a grand side adventure you saying it feels like a side quest is right on the money
One of my favorite opening is Kuu Zen Zetsu Go and Dandan Kokoro
Damn, you don’t even know who Goku is. Impressive
SPOIL:
Basically, the main character is an alien (Saiyan), with the same situation as Super Man. As a child, he fought earth-level threats, as an adult other aliens with even more cosmic powers. Super Saiyans are evolved states of his race. Dragon Ball is a special item that grants wishes to the user.
Bro dragon ball z kais dub op sung by brolys va is sick
Nice video reaction db
A Brief Explenation :
Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z are two different anime but they adapt the 2 part of the same Manga they are the only "Canon" (yeah their many spinoffs).
Then their the Spin Off :
Dragon Ball Gt who was release only few weeks after the end of the original Dbz and was supposed to put an end to the whole license.
There were diferent songs for different iterations of Dragon Ball, but there was more variations to those openings for the diferent arcs of the story, if you are interested in watch all the variations to try to guess the story, you can watch the playlist in my channel, i created it with all the different versions that i could find on youtube, good luck guessing :D

Im ngl the English version of the 1st dragon ball op is better
Hell no
Super saiyan blue is super saiyan with God ki
If you hear the English Dub version of Dragon Ball Z- Dragon Soul opening, you might like it better.
Japan version is the best
My favourite is DragonBall, the classic, the beginning to Goku's true adventure. It has a far better fun story, traveling, proper enemies. It is not just about the fights, and powerful enemies. Also, you should watch the Dubbed version, I find it more catchy.
Damnit everyone forgets the gt rap op
Kai means no fillers.
I think the similar thing u saying is goku’s 2 kids specially d younger, his exactly look alike of goku
Dragon ball- story of Goku's adventure with his friends to sesrch for all 7 dragon balls to summon the dragon named shenron that makes wishes.
Dragon Ball Z- is the continuation of Dragon ball that takes 5 years after Dragon Ball
Dragon ball GT- takes place 5 years after Dragon Ball Z but its not canon to the main show
Dragon ball Super- takes place after the story of Dragon Ball Z which makes it the canon/Official continuation of Dragon Ball Z.
Super Dragon Ball Heroes- is an anime based card game that made an anime adaptation
The order is dragonball, dragonball z, and dragonball super
Dragonball gt is a different franchise that doesn't go with he original franchise
Dragonball z Kai is just a remake of the original show
And the last dragonball z heroes is a whole different franchise that is a video game
Dragon ball gt op is the best in the anime history😎😎
Can you react to the openings of a certain magical index Railgun and Accelerator?
Listen to the opening of Jigokuraku/Hell’s Paradise!
Dragon Ball GT is a separate story that takes place years after Dragon Ball Z, but DBGT has nothing to do with the canon of the story, DBGT is just an extra series.
Dragon Ball Super is the "official and canonical" continuation of the franchise, so to speak, this series takes place approximately 3 years later
Dragon Ball Z Kai is a remastered version of DBZ, what this version included was that it did not have the filler chapters of the original series, it also had coloring and drawing corrections
It also included a new soundtrack and the original voices have different dialogues. Dragon Ball Superheros is a series that is based on the video game with the same name.
why to every one forget the original second Z Kai opening every one use the english version
(still see him a lot though)
DB is when Goku arrives on earth and is basically a kid to late teens/early adult.
(imo)
Gohan is similar but gets his debut in DBZ obviously cause Goku is old enough to have kids with Chi-Chi.
The second Dragon Ball Z Kai opening that you reacted to is not the official one, at least when I watched the series the opening was the one I'm going to put the link to.
ua-cam.com/video/aiVEVmWBUd4/v-deo.html
this is the order you should watch Dragon Ball Ben
1) Dragon Ball
2) Dragon Ball Z or Kai ( both are same one includes filler second doesn't )
3) Dragon Ball Super
4) Dragon Ball GT
5) Super Dragon Ball Heroes
details
1) Dragon Ball (1986) the original it covers Goku's adventures from a kid to a teen
now after OG there's two paths for you
1st path is Dragon Ball Z which has 291 episodes with fillers
2nd path is Dragon Ball Z Kai which has 2 parts 1st is kai that covers Saiyan saga to Cell Games and second is Final Chapters that covers world Tournament 25th to peaceful world
so Kai is basically the non filler version of Z and it has only 167 episodes ( both parts combined )
it's your decision you want to watch Z or Kai
After Z Or kai
you should watch Dragon Ball Super which is a canon series takes place after Majin Buu saga of Z and Kai
and after Super you should watch Dragon Ball Super Broly and Dragon Ball Super Superhero two movies set after Universe Survival saga of super and then here's a Non canon series which is Dragon Ball GT which takes place after the peaceful world saga of Z/kai
and then atlast Super Dragon Ball Heroes is basically a promotional anime for a arcade game and takes place after Super's Universe Survival Saga
Flying Nimbus!
Could also read the manga if you want to skip all the filler.
Toriyama's art is real good.
Also, imo the best dragon ball openings are in a few of the video games, like the Budokai games and Raging Blast 2.
There's a db gt opening 2 that ppl miss lol
Rock the Dragon will always be the main Dragon ball Z song
"Fight it out" is the English OP for The Final Chapters 🤦🏻♂️ the proper Japanese OP is "Kuu Zen Zetsu Go" and it's better in my opinion 😅😂
Dbz Kai is dbz but its shorter version of dbz it cuts out a lot of filler and censored blood and stuff
Definitely start with dragon ball first amazing story and character development the first 13 eps are slow but after that’s when the story takes off it’s amazing
Then either start with Z or Kai I’d recommend watching Kai for the first 2 arcs because the acting is really bad at the start then switch to Z during the 3rd arc then again u can watch it in sub then after u finish Z than watch battle of gods and resurrection F don’t watch the anime until u finish those movies if u watch super without watching those your going to realize how bad the animation is it starts off rough idk why they remade these 2 arcs into the anime adaptation when they had movies then after u finish those movies then watch super and when u finish super watch gt. The first arc starts off rough but it gets better in a specific arc and then when u finish gt then you can make the decision to watch dragon ball heroes or anything like that.
If you never wanted dragon ball i feel bad for your childhood
