I bought one of these after watching this video shortly after you posted it, and it’s been absolutely wonderful! My original colony is still going strong almost two years later. Thank you!
I recommend using paper towel instead of bran for the pupae. Bran allows them to burrow after they emerge and you might miss them. Paper towel they will grab onto and you can easily shake them into your adult container.
Thank you, that's a handy hint! Whenever I find pupae in the substrate, I put them in another container for our pet mice - they love them. We're going to start a mealie breeding colony so I'll use paper towels for the pupae.
I'm getting sooo close to being able to get a leo, but I found out that I need to buy some more things just for safer like mite spray and anti-shed items to help with removing stuck shed 😃
Usually if the conditions are right you shouldn't have much of a problem with shedding, but it can still occur. I've never used a shedding aid, but I do have a video on how to remove stuck shed using just water - ua-cam.com/video/tcWHa7wrH9Y/v-deo.html

I used a big storage container and just filled it with the shavings they came with. I’d feed them with gutloading stuff to keep them from eating eggs pupae or babies but I never separated them bc they always seemed to die when I did. I ended up having to rehome my reptiles and just kind of forgot about the colony it ended up surviving just fine and continuing to breed for 3 years with no food or water or separating just feeding off the old beetle carcasses. It was so weird👀

They don’t fly. They’re not better than roaches. You can breed them, use them as a cleanup crew, and/or feed them to the gecko as a treat. Although it’s ideal to feed them off when they’re freshly pupated and still white/light brown so they’re easier to digest.
