As stated the cardiovascular benefits exists, however there has to be other aspects of training to complement other areas of development of the athletes performance , strength and endurance for example. Marcell used to train with a buggy to increase drag on the athlete supposedly to enhance form to maintain higher speeds, never happened, led to injuries. Hes only just coming back from those injuries. The reason is really quite simple false muscle memory, lack of physical strength to compensate in a real race where he has no buggy to pull him forward, therefore he cannot support the musxle memory action leading to injuries. Not to worry thought im sure franno is aware of this, and has the rest of the drill in his programme. Lighter then heavier in real race figure it out, not equal to same speed. Cardiovascular plus allowing an athlete to train when not fully fit or nursing an injury, but when hes fulky fit ir no longer injured he got to train to support his actual weight, dont get it twisted.
They lease the Base (I think its a High School) for a few months per year. Its not their facility so they cant just leave expensive equipment over there permanently. Also...Kishane picked up an injury at the Olympics so the Machine at their base wouldn't really help.

These kind of treadmills have been around for 25+ years. They are called anti-gravity treadmill. Mainly used for physio /rehab.
