Today I have Mr Gideon on my channel, A great teacher and a qualified one at that. We discussed about Navigating teaching in the U.K. Looking forward to have him back on my channel. Thanks for coming ❤
omo please how are you? Please I got two offers from different schools and both are applying for CoS on my behalf. I would like to know if this would cause a problem
@@ibphysicsclassroom it’s not a problem,
Thanks so much ma for the video, I got lots of content from it and truly Mr. Gideon has got a whole lot to dish out. However, tue video ended abruptly, where is the concluding part?
@@gospelvibesintl thanks for watching, the concluded part would be up tomorrow
Infact, he's truly a teacher. The gesticulation, the passion and...the content is loaded
Thanks so much.
@@omowumitemitayotv you are welcome ma
The way he explained differentiation is clear and concise without misleading or diminishing the meaning. Absolutely brilliant. We need an encore!!
Wooow, omo you're amazing. Thank you for bringing Gideon on your channel. It very informative and helpful. I give it to you.

Thanks for watching 🥰
Thank you for making such insightful videos. I'm interested in the part 2 of this video. Please, is it available?
Yes dropping by 4 pm
Okay. I'm looking forward to it.
Well done, Ma'am!
Very informative. Thank you guys.
Thanks for watching 🎉
As soon as I started watching this video, I knew I had to hang unto my seat! This has been so eloquently done to show people still getting ready to move abroad to teach, that it’s not just about a CV or the qualifications, it is about the quality of teaching and the philosophy behind every single thing a teacher does in the classroom. Wow! Thank you for this. In a world where everyone is running after websites of where to submit their CV, you have delved into the crux of the matter on why we have our channels - to truly show the way to teach in the diaspora successfully. Well done! 🎉🎉🎉
💪💪💪
Omowumi, thank you for sharing this insight. I am a science teacher in Physics, and would like you to guide me on how to secure a teaching job in science. Hope to hear from you
please kindly do your own research you're a man.
Wao
Please can you bring him again? I really enjoyed this section.
He is definitely coming back
❤ I really enjoyed this, Omo weldone. I really wish to share my story, what I experienced in Nigeria as a teacher and what made me relocate to UK but not as a teacher. I pray to show up in your channel.
I would love to have you on my channel please send me an email, I have checked for yours couldn’t find it.
Omowumi, your last question which wasn't answered is very paramount. The question was, " How did Edmond get his teaching job in the UK, is it by applying through agency or by applying directly to the school?"
Also, is there a contact such as email by which we can reach out to Edmond for clarifications. His explanation of the teaching techniques in the UK caught my attention snd I want to know more about it. He also stated why many Nigerians are getting unfortunate messages after interviews. I need to ask him some questions please. Thanks 👍
There is a part two to the video, so watch out for that ❤
Okay Thanks 😊👍
I wish you can invite my wife to your channel How she applied for cleaner through an agency but the agency called her and said you got teaching experience in your CV why don't you be a supply teacher and from then she is a cover supervisor now
@norentosin5041 oh wow, Can she send me an email please omowumitemitayo@yahoo.com
I am seriously searching for a teaching role in the UK, i have registered with about 3-4 agencies..... I know God will definitely do it for me....when i eventually get one, i will sure need a mentor, no body is mr-know-all...i don't mind paying for mentorship...from what i have learned from this video, the methodologies are different...they may be similar in definition and caption, but honestly they are different in application...
Thank you for this sis...looking forward to the part 2❤
Thank you for watching
Congrats
Please which country did you apply to for Schengen visa
Also please how long did it take to get the visa, hie many weeks
bro scaffolding isnt only in the uk. if you really did education degree then you should know just that we dont practise it in class here in africa but the uk enforces that
He didn’t do education and he has a qualified teachers status in the U.K.
Hello Omowunmi, did you get your supply teaching job in Nigeria before you headed towards traveling to uk for the supply teaching job? If not, which route or which visa did you use to get to UK? IS IT SKILLED WORKER VISA/ STUDENT VISA or any other?
I’m a skilled worker dependant
Okay, you mean you already had someone living in the UK before you travelled. Thanks 👍
Does it mean the notes and teaching materials are already prepared by the school. So teacher just plan and facilitate?
This is only applicable to supply teachers, for permanent teachers they plan and prepare lessons
Hi sis, Did you get sponsorship as a cover teacher or did you get sponsorship because you have a QTS ?
I am not on a sponsorship.
Meanwhile it’s rare to get sponsorship as a cover teacher
How can you help us improve? Personally, I am ready to learn but needs someone to hold my hand
Teacher's in Africa knows all.... they will not allow you to teach them.
@@akoensisamuel6926can you please explain what you mean by this?
Mention the gaps pls.
What do you mean by teaching pedagogy?
Method of teaching
@@omowumitemitayotvwhat is the difference between teaching pedagogy and teaching philosophy? Thanks 👍
@onyinyechinwendu2519 not thesame, slight differences
@@omowumitemitayotv 👍
Is there a whatsapp group for UK Nigerian Teachers? Please i would love to be added on🙏
Yes but not only for Nigerians
if Gideon taught A Level physics then why didn't he know these behaviour management before going or was it part time?
Behaviour management is different with each country, even with each school in the U.K., your experience with a mainstream school in the U.K. can not be sufficient for a SEN school. You will still need to learn the behavioural management of that school. Meanwhile I bring genuine people on my channel which I know quite well, therefore their experience does not need to be challenged. Cheers.
Educational institutions are not monoliths. They are a true representation of the society in which they are founded. The reason he didn’t need to know these is because students in Nigeria at the level he taught, were already conditioned to respect teachers. It is totally different in the U.K. because the culture and parenting styles differ. You do not need a hammer if the furniture you are putting together does not need nails.
@DiasporaDoodles I love you 🥰
@@omowumitemitayotvlove you more for putting this together! I am in awe 😊
@@omowumitemitayotvI have used this video to teach a whole lesson on my WhatsApp group and I can’t hype it enough. Well done 🙌🙌
Please becareful of how you will discuss your country because it will get back on you and your country people. But I like the way this lady talk about Nigerian teacher 😊
The more we hide crucial matters like this and refuse to share it for those coming after us, then we do more harm by letting them walk into situations they can avoid if only they knew what lay ahead. I believe Omowumi has shed light on a topic that has plagued us as a society for a long time and her way of showcasing it is -in my opinion, very sublime.
the difference seemed wide cos most of you didn't teach in elite international school in Nigeria. There are British and American schools in Nigeria which operate same way as the uk.
Even those that in American and British schools in Nigeria has their own share of these cultural differences and values.
why Nigerians start speaking well like Ghanaians when they reach England cos I'm not hearing the Nigerian accent.😂😂😂😂
Because we are brilliant people and adapt very fast and easy
🤔🤔
with the exception of teachers who taught in international schools in their home countries in Africa all the other teachers are unprofessional
I disagree, they are not unprofessional, different countries with different teaching philosophy, cultures, and values, moving to another country you will have to learn and adapt to their values, philosophy and culture.
@@omowumitemitayotvomo please we have professionalism and culture. How differentiation of a lesson isn't Cultural its professionalism so a professional teacher can't say he went to the UK before getting yo know about. my son's teacher told me he told my son to retaliate when someone abuse him in class n I told her this is safeguarding issue. how can a professional teacher not no that someone beating my son is an abuse. you call it Cultural too omo cos that's what's done in africa?
@@ibphysicsclassroom you know it’s an abuse because of the training you got from your school or your research on safeguarding that does not state every teacher who do not have the knowledge of this is unprofessional. And that is why I and my other colleagues are here to enlighten a lot of professional teachers that are not aware of so many values, teaching philosophy and safeguarding.
