Hello mate, I am from the UK and wanted to say you inspired me to take drone flying to a commercial level. I have spent the past week or two building and building. I will spend the next 6 months creating contacts and clients as well as more ability.
What a serendipitous video. I JUST tried activating my DJI Care monday night and missed the cutoff by a couple of hours from when I turned on my drone and had no clue I could still get DJI Care later. Thank you
Great video and thanks for posting. I have a Mini 3 Pro and it is excellent. It was expensive and I am definitely the worst part of the system so I bought 2yrs cover on the basis that I’d hope the drone will last for many years to come but I also accept that things can be faulty/wear out and accidents can happen. I don’t fly professionally, but I practice regularly and it’s really easy to fly. I do record my flights and you can see my flying progress weekly on my channel (in 4K)
Thank you for the info. I was going to do it, but forgot, and then saw your vid. Your info about adding it after the 48h period is great news to me. Thank you.
I crashed my Mini 3 pro on saturday 9/10. I started the process that evening and sent the drone back on Sunday and the replacement shipped Monday morning. This is my fifth DJI drone and the first crash I've had. They were very quick. I highly recommend paying the Extra for the DJI CARE.
Yeah it's worth getting even if you don't crash or fly often, as you just never know. I suggest only getting the one year because you get the extra year extension anyway for good flying. One thing to mention though is that for flyways, they charge way more for replacement because they aren't getting a drone sent back to them. I just dunked my Mini 2 in a lake when I hit the ski rope pulling tubers, and DJI wants $205 US for the care refresh replacement.
If you remember I'm the one that told you about the matrice getting shot down. I will tell you the DJI insurance saved us from tens of thousands of dollars of repair. I will never buy another DJI without the care refresh.

Yo man, thanks so much for this video and all your content. I must have just closed the pop-up when I first got my Air2. Went on their website watched the quick vid for verification and was able to send the link (dropbox) to the online support guy. Approved within like 2min. Purchased. Wish I slowed down when I got the drone but as a real estate photographer this is a no brainer. 8$ a month for piece of mind. THANKS!
I had a DJI Air 2 "fly-away", and DJI did not honor my DJI Care replacement. It took numerous back and forths. I had to keep complaining. Finally we "settled". They sent me a replacement drone for a couple hundred. No batteries and no accessories. It was not the best experience. Oh, and I'm subbing because you a cool channel name...and good info.
I bought DJI care, is just peace of mind. I went for 2 years option, as I don't think that will change the drone earlier as mini 3 has everything what I need
I fly without DJI backup. It's costly in my oppinion. Getting 50 years old I got a new watch as a present. That made it special and I paid the ensurans for it. After 10 years I had paid the sum as for the new watch. Not having the habit of loosing or crashing watches I stopped paying. Luckily(!) I faced problems buying the DJI care, and eager to fly, I started flying. Being really careful flying the Mini 3 pro has been done without mishaps. Then I flew the Mavic 3 pro into the tops of the trees, managed to find it up on the mountain, and changed one prop. Lesson learned, flying sideways in sports mode. Being a former pilot, civil engineer and more, preparing the flight and thinking "Safety" is the approach flying. If flying in a new area, apply good margins in every respect. Else, do some careful test flying before the sharp flight.
Lost my mini 2 when 3 months in lake shasta when i was in houseboat, good thing i have the DJI refresh care and they covered the flyaway. I called them to report they made me go to the apps to turn on something so they can see that it was really went under the lake, next day got approved and received the replacement within one week. I just have to pay for the deductible better than paying for the whole thing
Thanks for sharing, I was a dumb dumb and didn't get the coverage within 48 hours on my Mini 3 Pro with touch screen RC, thankfully I haven't had any issues with my drone and I uploaded my video for request for the coverage. Hopefully it goes through, very affordable all things considered Thanks!
didn't know you could still add warranty afterwards.. reached out to DJI about this a week after activation and they refused.. just crashed the drone into a dense small forest by an apartment block and no luck finding it.. wish this was clear somewhere and more public about securing dji care after the 48hr window...
I bought a one year plan. It just ran out a few days ago. I never used it. I just got a call from them trying to get me to sign up for another year. I asked her about my free year since I didn't make a claim. She said it's only factory warranty that gets extended? So idk.
I recently picked up my first ever drone, Mini 3 Pro, and I figured, it's my first drone... better have that coverage just in case haha, and I am SUPER happy it's not a monthly payment system like car insurance. Great videos, I hope after I've had time to dabble in flying and editing that a year from now I'll be able to pick up your course, this is all fun for a hobby but the first time I launched DaVinci I was like... Nope, I'm out.
DJI just repaired a back propeller leg. They also "fixed" my drone so that trying to use my alternate batteries, purchased on Amazon, prevent the drone from taking off.
YEP. I agree!! I crashed my mavic air 2 with 2 months of using it. I still think something was wrong with that drone from the start. Regardless when I crashed it and sent the reminds of the drone back I got a new one for less the $100.00. The new drone worked much better. After over a year my "new" Mavic air 2 malfunctioned and would not fly. I spent about $200.00 to get it fixed from DJI. DJI gave the option to get the insurance for $79 a year. I got it. I think it is a great deal! I do a lot of flying from my sailboat. It is hard to bring my boat back to my sailboat. If my done crashes in the water it is a "fly away" I think this is 100% worth the price!!!.
I’ve been flying recreational since 2019. I had one crash on my first drone, a mavic pro. I accidentally activated the emergency kill switch like a dope while about 40 feet up. I spend like $300 to buy a new gimbal/camera and two arms with rotors. Luckily I was able to fix it myself. The hardest part was the stripped screws I had to overcome. Since then I bought an air, air2s, mini2 and have bought two years off the bat on each one. Never crashed again. Knock wood. Now I’m looking to buy the mini 3 pro with rc and idk if should drop the $125 or not. My luck is it’ll be the first one I’ll need to use it on and the first one I don’t have it on. What is this about getting an extra year of warranty if you don’t use care refresh?
Seems to be a good business decision for DJI. Hopefully they won’t start acting life regular insurance companies that go out of their way to deny claims,
I just did the flyaway coverage on care refresh. Used RTH without picking the settings first (one of my first flights) and when I hit RTH it went 20m up and flew into a tree and hit every branch on the way down. Camera was destroyed, gimble was destroyed, multiple propellers were ruined, and one arm was badly cracked. DJI sent me a brand new one within a week, and they shipped it as soon as I submitted the claim. They did put a hold on my bank account. But once they received my broken drone they released the hold and it ended up costing me 60$ for a brand new replacement. It was 125$ for 2 years.. and I can get 2 replacements a year for 60/ea. 125$ for the care refresh for 2 years.. and up to 4 replacements for 60$ (free 2nd day air shipping aswel) or 2 60$ replacements and 2 flyaway replacements for 235$ ea. TL:DR... care refresh is awesome, and I think anyone would regret not getting it.
Just to clarify, it wasn't the flyaway, it was originally but I ended up finding the drone and was able to send it back, for free, and the new replacement cost 60$
Yes the insurance was totally worth it. Dji was great, I’m in canada, so it was shipped to Ontario. As soon as they received I got an email to confirm they got it and 2 hours later they shipped the replacement. Total shipping from chatting to DJI to receiving the replacement was 6days. DJI also sent a couple of emails to confirm it was operating correctly and could that I could contact through Chat if I needed more help to set it up.
Hi Can you please tell me how to activate Care Refresh through the app within 48 of when you first turn the Mini 3 Pro drone on? I can't remember if I activated or not. Or maybe there is a way to check if Care Refresh was activated. Thanks.
I know you're a cinematographer and photographer by trade/talent, but are you going to review the new DJI Avata? Obviously not necessarily what you would need or buy personally but it would be good for you to give your opinion. Thats it, that's my comment over.
Say I crash my drone & cause $100 damage. DJI Care provides shipping both ways and give a %-off the repair cost? Unlimited repairs? What about a batteries?
I see the flyaway coverage cost over $500 for the mini 3 pro now -- did they update it? Is that even worth it if the drone itself is like $600? Also had my mini 2 fixed for like $100 parts plus labor from DJI for a broken gimbal, lens cover, rotors, etc.
Hi mate I’ve bought a used mini 3 pro and can’t get in contact with the original account holder to unbind their account. Is it only the drone that is bound to the account or can I use the DJI RC with another aircraft? Thanks

Just have gone through the process and it was horrible. Took over 3 weeks before I got my replacement drone. SO had to send it back again and wait another 3 weeks for my drone to hopefully get back this week. That is 6 weeks of lost flight time. DJI should have better sent me a Mavic 3 as compensation for messing up ;-)
Really you need to understand what you are replacing I don't think they're sending you a battery only a drone. You don't need to buy the controller again and in reality the Drone by itself is a whole lot cheaper so you have to pay a deductible and you have to pay the insurance. You really only a couple hundred bucks away from just buying another drone yourself
So it's worth paying $80 for one year, but you don't feel an additional whole year for $50 more isn't worth it, because you tend to keep buying new drones after a few years? WADR, that makes no sense. It would only make (some) sense if you bought a new drone EVERY year
