Hi Ernest, good stuff there and thanks for sharing. Have you done any tests yet to compare the accuracy to the original barrel? I have a Crown Continuum and I am thinking about adapting this idea to my gun, but it would be good to hear what the impacts on accuracy and repeatability have been. Keep up the good work!
have been ordering 8mm id for them. All bought on ebay. Oddly, or maybe not so oddly, the 8mm id seems to be out everywhere. I have posted threads of my way of doing it on the GTA. I sometimes go crazy and add more cf tubs to create ultra lightweight bull barrels. All shoot very well indeed! I have used both jb weld and loctite bearing seal. KnifeMaker
The like idea of the vibration dampening Earnest. I do have a concern however. The does not harden in the product tube for a year or more, as it is air cured. How can it cure in the cf tubing full length as no air is getting past the very end, (both ends of the cf tubing? What do you think Earnest? KnifeMaker
A.D.D. Airgunner --> on ebay just find the size that fit inside the tube and liner that slide in the sleeve, you my have to turn the outside OD to fit inside the barrel Not all CF tube OD are not the same could be off .03mm. I’m planning on getting a mold made for a custom sleeve size per caliber
What diameter CF sleeve are you using for the .25 liners? The liner orings are so annoying because you can never get them back in the same spot and I believe without them my accuracy drops not much but more than I like!

Landon Emory hi I just received my CF 12x10 and it doesn’t fit in my barrel, it got stuck on the barrel’s tread , I don’t want to push it , it supposed to slide freely maybe I’m doing something wrong?
@@landonemory7902 I just got done using a caliber on my .25 Superior Liner, and it is 9mm OD not 10mm. The CF tube should have a 9mm ID and 12mm OD to fit in the barrel properly.
Very new to this but why not use o-rings at increments along the entire length of barrel instead of filling with gunk ?, probably missed something but still learning.
9 months ago you made a liner install video saying “not” to use RTV or caulk because it wouldn’t cure and to use 2 part epoxy instead. Why the 180? Did something change?
Ernest on a 600 mill 25 caliber barrel what are the dimensions of the carbon fiber sleeve would be needed for my first generation crown? All of your videos are great and have given me a lot of help, thank you very much Clay
I just received your tube for my 25 maverick. Can I just install this without the original orings or epoxy? Man it fits nice and tight so far without any orings or epoxy.
Water removes the silicone easy. I 'm just wondering what liner to use cause I have seen two video of yours videos , one using two part epoxy without o-rings and now this video
Just out of curiosity I thought this was done for vibration control and movement. If an epoxy was used would that not translate the vibration as well? Just asking thanks folks
456 123 -> you can measure your liner. No body sells custom fit CF tube and each MFR have different tolerance like the .30 liner very few will fit over liner and inside tube. .30 10mm OD, .25 9mm, .22 8mm, .17 7mm. That why I’m getting them custom made with my own Mold to wrap the CF weaves.
What do think if fill the space between original barrel sleeve and barrel liner with resin epoxy? I think rigidity will be increase. Or what about mixing this ideas together? Use cfr sleeve instead of original fx barrel. I saw that Lothar Walter use lock tight between steel barrel and cfr sleeve in 10m match rifles. Im sorry if I can't say it correctly or have grammatical problems.
Okay but I still do not see and links to where to purchase the tubes, or measurements that would let me order my own for my .25/700 MRII Impact. Help please!
Thinking exactly the same here. What is the point from all these videos? If none of what he is making is going to production? At least he used to answer questions when he used to do assembly and disassembly of the fx guns.
You can buy carbon fiber tube on line. Maybe that will help us figure it out. As far as the width we should use a micrometer and get the a width 1/8th inch larger or whatever your preference is.
I think we live in a day and age where people have forgotten how to explore, how to not be given all the answers and try to learn a bit on their own through trial and error. I find his Mr. Rowe's video to a perfect motivation to step out of my comfort zone and try to think outside the box. He owes us nothing more than what he wants to give.
Thank you for sharing your ideas and knowledge with all us air rifle lovers . "Deeds not words"
Yes very good I like that different calibers different colors. I am still running all STX barrels in my Impact 2.

I too felt that's the correct way, rather than using a loose CF sleeve to stiffen.
Very nice tutorial. Thank you for taking the time to present it.

michael l -> LOCTITE 480
Two-part epoxy, JB Weld, ect, has the chemical reaction that hardens it after mixing, which will work as a true bonding agent.
I've been wanting to use a STX liner with carbon fiber sleeve and make it work for a Raw hm1000x rifle
456 123 -> about 3 weeks will have custom size liner sleeve
Was surprised to see no link was provided for those CF tubes you're using. What's the CF tube size?

Rudi.30 no worries mate. cf tubes are like 15 bucks or so
Do you still recommend the silicone or did you find another adhesive?
Hi Ernest where can we buy this colored liner’s.? Thank you for showing us all you’re knowledge.🙏
It would be pretty cool if you could make a polimer mold around the barrel with a chrome Molly tube for the shroud 👌👍✌️🤫😉😎
Why not simply make the liners more heavy with thicker walls ? Or even better some 6AL-4V Titainum liners ? Those would be awesome !!!
Ernest you r genius and Thanks to sharing it with us... I have .22/ 700mm and what size of cf i have to buy? Thanks

Where do we buy your performance parts?
Some RTV silicones produce acetic acid when curing, which i think is bad for the metalwork. Do you use an acetic free type?
9 months ago you made a liner install video saying “not” to use RTV or caulk because it wouldn’t cure and to use 2 part epoxy instead. Why the 180? Did something change?
I'm with Mike, RTV is air dry and won't cure without access to air. The ends will cure but not the center of the tube, so why the change of heart?

CF tube replace the oring and doesn’t have to be bounded

Ernest where do you get the sleeves for the barrels? Are they FX approved? Will they fit the new superior barrel?
do you think liner with cf tube is rigid enough to make a barrel for other airguns? what is the O.D. of the fx liners?
Ernest could you use epoxy/JB Weld instead for greater strength?
What about 3M Windo-Weld Fast Urethane Epoxy Compound seams like it would provide great strength and dampning

I think it would add alot of weight Also i personally feel the barrel should vibrate some so not to put too much stress on other parts.
Sir. Ernest Rowe what is the lenght of cf sleeve liner?
Ernest were can we the public get the liner covers
I have FX Impact mk2. 30 caliber 700mm barrel
Where can I find the carbon fiber tubs
Caulking shrinks, so we will see?
What are the dimensions of the sleeves that you were using for your barrels? I need the inside and outside dimensions, and perhaps The length
It would be for a 25 caliber crown and impact
Thank you for sharing👍

Why is this not available in 800mm ?

@@ernestrowe5061 i mean cf length for 700mm barrel liner... Thanks
I think you can use the same sized CF sleeve for 700mm liner. It will not cover the full length of the liner but will still work.
