Based on the BWF regulations, the first golden rule to be the “best player” is to have consistent results throughout the year (i.e. the world ranking number 1). Follow this golden rule, the player with more medals (i.e. superseries titles), more special personal achievement (i.e. world champion title), and more group achievement (i.e. Thomas/Uber), are more likely to gain this title.
Viktor Axelsen would be the best male player of the year
-He has 52+ weeks world ranking number 1 throughout the year.
-He has 7 superseries/group titles
-These include 4x 1000 superseries titles plus 1x European Games.
-Even he did not get the world champion. This does not affect his overall achievement.
An-Se Young would be the best female player of the year.
-Currently, her ranking score is 113314. This means that she will definitely gain at least 52+ weeks world number 1 in the future.
-She get 10 superseries titles
-These titles, include a world champion and an Asian game title.
-No other female player can outcompete these results in this year.
Zheng/Huang would probably be the best pair.
Seo/Chae would probably be the most improvement pair.
Vitidsarn won the WCH, a 750 and a 500, but he also suffered from tons of early eliminations. Such instability shouldn’t have been nominated, and if you can’t find any other in men’s singles with frequent good results through the year, put Zheng Siwei on the list.
Yeah after injury he cant manage to keep his form
if you want to put Zheng Siwei on the best men’s player, you should put Huang Ya Qiong for the women’s too. would be weird if only one half of the pair get nominated while they only play together

As a person constantly analysing the men's singles I think Kodai was the best player this year, reaching semi finals in of so many tournaments and having consistent results and rising to the number 3 despite his first year in the world tour

Bruh from nothing in the first half to 5 titles in the second half + silver in WC ,this is serious improvement, you are just salty with their unsportsmanlike attitude I know
On what basis are you saying they are undeserving??
@@mysongskkg3381 there are pairs who improved more. LiangWang went from WR17 to WR1 and didnt get the nomination. WR7 to WR3 isnt that much of a huge improvement
@@anger_7762 Its never about Rankings, its about Titles, Kim/ Ramussen have reached 6 finals this year. Improved award is given to one who are in circuit for atleast 3-4 years, Liang/Wang entered circuit only last year.
