Chris said it himself, he’s nobody special. What is special is his passion for his craft and excellent work ethic. Anyone who regularly follows LD18 has heard him working while he’s sick, tired or both but he always produces the best product he can, no matter the situation. He is also passionate about his equipment. He said, “I just film what I do”. That includes daily maintenance and involved maintenance on his equipment. He knows that if he takes care of it, it’ll take care of him. You can also tell when he’s not happy about the appearance of his gear when it’s covered in hydraulic fluid, oil or mud. He takes as much pride in his equipment as he does in his work. Volvo should be proud of the ambassador they have in Chris Guins!

A huge attraction to his videos is the narration. He's constantly explaining what he's thinking and doing. Then he punctuates every 10 minutes or so with a break in the action and a more direct explanation of progress or next phase etc.. It's interesting and very relaxing to watch.

I found I could immerse myself in Chris' video and escape the darkness that had overtaken my life. I’ve been watching Chris (letsdig18), almost since the beginning. He’s one of the reasons why I got into grading 4 years ago and turned out to be something I’m passionate about and enjoy. I’ve learned a lot from his videos. Whether it’s being able to see his thought process on each job, or even just looking back when he only had 1-2 tractors and now has an entire fleet. I appreciate everything he does and taking the time to share with others. Chris is great at what he does and I hope to meet one day.

An avid follower of Chris / LetsDig18, from Vancouver, Canada. Initially captivated by his talents on a wide variety of machinery, his professional skills & work ethic, which progressed to an admiration of the man himself & his personality. A generous mix of honesty, humour & unscripted reality. He enjoys what he does & it shows. His peers have shared that admiration on many videos. It's great to see that his personal rewards for his efforts have become a beautiful home / farm & the plans he has for it. I feel fortunate to follow him on that journey thru his videos as his plans unfold.

Chris Letsdig18 has easily one of the best channels on UA-cam from every possible aspect.
Just his personality comes across as someone everyone would like to have as a close friend.
His work ethic is definitely "old school Americana"
He makes his episodes mesmerizing to watch.
Plus there's the cool fact he's started setting up the meet and great get togethers with Mike Dirt Perfect, Matt Diesel Creek and others involved in his industry that are an absolute hoot to watch.
I also like that he includes coverage of when he's working with his Uncle John.
That's gotta be special type of memories he'll cherish well after his Uncle John has passed on.

I've followed Chris for years and always keep up with his videos, I have an office job - I've been thinking about what makes channels like Chris' successful for a long time. It seems to me that what people like to see is people who work hard and give a damn about what they do: it could be anything from operating a nuclear reactor, through to flying an aircraft, digging big holes in the ground to cleaning sewers; if people see that passion on video sooner or later they will get found and people will go mad for it. I also think there's separately an aspect for those of us who do desk jobs to vicariously get to see a bit of that outdoor life. I bet Chris and channels like his are huge recruiters for the construction industry too.

I ran equipment and drove truck. You make it look so easy. I understand that's not the case ! After 5 years doing what I did I transfered to full time firefighter in the same town. I just retired after combined time of 33 1/2 years. Most people do not understand the toll it takes on your body doing what you do day in and day out. I watched my father whenever I got the chance work with his companies excavator...Watching Chris feels very similar to watching my father and reminds me of those simplier days back probably before Chris was even born... So it's a bit of nostalgia watching his videos... that and lets face it.. All of use kids played in the sand box with toy trucks and bulldozers and I had an excavator... so Chris is lucky enough to take that which we did in the sandbox as kids and got more expensive toys and makes a living at it.... So in a way, it's jealousy...

Volvo needs to start sending him the new machines to demo. A problem I'm sure most operators have seen is that heavy equipment manufacturers make videos of their new machines but they always use operators that can't operate well enough to demonstrate the equipment. Chris would be great for showing off machines and their abilities.

Chris is best at giving the customer what they want without the customer truly knowing what they want. Best machine operator I have seen, and that Volvo is smooth.

I wondered when this was going to pop-up. This was done during the Bealy pond. Good to see.
