Need of intrepid enlarger for darkroom, Features for color film developing?
Yes, it has colour filters/settings so you can print colour film as well as black and white film, as well as using it for scanning!
You're so amazing! And thank you for the useful info!
I always wanted to get n the darkroom buh its supperrr intimidating its cool to see u have sm fun w it!!
I definitely agree re: the intimidating side! It’s something I’ve put off for forever but had my first session printing at home yesterday and it’s honestly not as scary as it seems! I’ll definitely make some videos as I learn more to try and break down some of the mystique around it so if you have any specific questions please do let me know!
@@SophiaCareyits a relief to hear its not as complex as my brain makes it out to b haha ...looking forward to the videos to come they're always super informative!..maybee one day ill give the darkroom a go!!
I've had mine for a few months, only had 3 attempts so far (four images). It's a bit of a struggle working out how to work in a tight space, and I've made plenty of mistakes, but it's great fun. A couple of tips though:
- When you get it, the focusing knob is on the bottom, and I find that really annoying (arm gets in the way of the projection, and it also makes it wobble more when focusing), so I've unscrewed mine all the way and put it back the other way round with the knob at the top. Works better for me.
- The latest firmware has a feature that I don't think is mentioned in the manual, but if you hold down the safelight button, you can switch the focusing light from white to red. If you're only printing colour, that wont be all that useful, for for B&W, it has saved me ruining paper more than once!
On the whole I've very happy. I don't have a lot of space for gear, so the size really is a major win for me. I can't leave a full size enlarger permanently set up anywhere, so having something that lives in a box under a chair most of the time is perfect for me.
Ah amazing! Thanks so much for the tips! I've given it a go once already but definitely useful to hear other people's experiences too! And agreed, I don't have the space to have a darkroom set-up constantly so it's really handy for me too!
Congratulations! I hope to have my own darkroom one day. Enjoy it!
Thank you!! Used it for the first time yesterday and loved the process. More on that soon!
It's Magic!!! @@SophiaCarey
Im really concerned about your thyroid. Please check with a doctor.
I might be totally wrong 🤷🏽♂️
I have benign thyroid cysts but no thyroid issues. Thanks for your concern though!
Great review just stumbled upon this product. What chemicals do you need to develop the print ?
Thank you! I use these multigrade chemicals from Ilford, available on Intrepid Camera's website, for printing black and white: intrepidcamera.co.uk/collections/darkroom/products/ilford-multigrade-chemicals
It includes a developer, stop and fix! I haven't attempted colour at home yet but I believe they have the appropriate chemicals listed on their website for colour printing!
