I grew up in southern Cali. These guys were from LA. They were a chill kind of jazzy hip hop like ATCQ, Digable Planets, Souls of Mischief, De La Soul, The U.M.C.s, etc. Watch their videos for "Runnin" , "Drop" and "Otha Fish" next.
Have you really lived until you, your wife, and your two teenagers rap and sing this at top volume on a road trip? This album, Tribe Low End, and Free Style Fellowship Inner City Boundaries are in heavy rotation.
I only have a few CDs left in my possession...the Pharcydes Bizarre Ride II is one of 'em. You should check out "93 'til Infinity" by Souls of Mischief. Same dope jazzy hip hop vibe.
You obviously gotta react to Pharcyde "Drop" as well...Other suggestions : Das EFX "They Want EFX" or "Mic Checka"...Or Fu-Schnickens "True Fuschnick" - "La Schmoove" - "Ring The Alarm"...Last but not least Lords Of The Underground "Chief Rocka" ALL CLASSICS!!!....
For real check out chief racka and they want efx… also the pharcyde is apart of the hieroglyphics crew… you gotta check out some of hieroglyphics songs
This was all of my sophomore year in 93’. Graffiti or “bombing” was very widespread in Miami in the 90’s. Cops would f you up so it was always risky af.
Graffiti is one of the main elements of hip hop culture.... 💯 Graffiti and turntablism is kinda a lost art in the elements that created the culture but it still lives in many, just pushed to the back.
This whole album was pure fire. Probably no official video for "Mr Officer, Please," "Yo Mama," or "Pack The Pipe," but all are amazing. After this they went in more of an R&B direction, but this LP was literally Jam packed.
Glad you liked it. They were definitely unique. They just sounded different from everything else. There are a lot of groups like this in hip hop where they had a one album window of greatness and then it was pretty much a wrap.
Graffiti was pretty popular in my neck of the woods, and part of the Hip Hop scene at the time. We painted at some *legal* walls... And some others, but mostly the legal ones 😉😀The early 90's ...Good times
That's Fatlip singin that hook. "Runnin" and "DROP" are of course good video songs but the 1st song "Bullshit" on the LabcabinCalifornia" album is gold and "Hey You" is great too.
I've heard this multiple times but still don't know why the first guys voice is in that pitch lol. Also yeah graffiti was definitely popular then, it was apart of hip hop culture. It's not as popular now but it still goes on, I've never seen a person doing it either but there's some graffiti near where I live and some are in crazy locations like highway overpasses 😂. There is even one place here it's allowed to have graffiti. It's like one big wall full of it and every so often people put different graffiti over the old ones.
Yes people still do graffiti and the point is to not be seen, . Have you not ever heard of Banksy. . I'm pretty sure nobody knows who he is or what he looks like, . But his art is worth millions
Just found your channel and already subscribed🔥🔥 could you react to “ once in a lifetime “ by Stick Figure, one of my favorite bands been listening to them for years nothing but bangers!
FIRST! Haven't watched it yet but I'm sure it's going to be epic! This is the Hip Hop "Hot for Teacher". 😅
Thank you so much momma🫵🔥
