incase anyone is curious to know. Finally, I feel proud about renovating my whole Porch and redoing my window exteriors on my own. Thanks for your help man! Appreciate your video!
The make plug cutters for different sizes, I wonder if your screw holes would be the correct size for a plug cutter set? Since it's been a year I am probably too late to make a suggestion lol, I assume you already did something? If you did, what did you do to fill the holes?
I would say the gopro needs to face down about 3” for us to be able to see half of what you’re talking about. Also, I don’t think you have to pull out those screws. Use a two-part white epoxy or just some paintable caulk to fill those recesses. No one will ever know!
What is the painted border around the finished white PVC trim? Did you butt the siding directly into that border? And what percentage more was the PVC vs. wood per window? Thanks.
I think I understand your question now, the border that you are referring to is the j channel for the siding . The siding slides into the j-channel so that you don't see any seams or cuts. The j-channel is the same color as the siding. in terms of percentage, I think you are referring to cost, I would say probably double the cost. Any local building shop around your area should be able to price it for you

Looks great
Nice video. I was especially interested in the brick molding portion. Go Pro issues were unfortunate but it happens and the end result was quite good.
nice vid very well done
in this case use trim screws run them deep and 1/4” drill bit after and azek plugs fit like a dream
How do you trim and seal around windows without a nailing flange?
Router or dado cut ur own j channel into the trim. Would look nice

LOL. Thats why you measure diagonally instead of inside dimensions. Being square not just equally spaced.
How are you completely oblivious to the camera's field of vision?

Very informative but just a little hard to view what you were doing, great info tho. Thanks!
Yeah, I know, I had the GoPro mounted on my head, hard to know the exact angle to get
Stainless Kreg screws?
Yes
It’s crazy this product isn’t cheaper than wood yet still in 2024. It’s made of recycled and other plastics I don’t get it.
Oh it was ruined by using j channel around everything.
What way would you have finished the siding to the trim? Just curious....caulk? Like Hardie?
@@mirg6204 Cut the channel in the pvc trim boards or buy it with the channel in it.
@@donhuffer5167 My buddy said the same, said he would've dadoed it 👍
@@mirg6204 We are in the same stage of building our home. I’m waiting for the price to come down because the pvc trim is really high right now.
head lamp camera? ruined vid.
So frustrating to watch. I wanted to give a thumbs down but I gave a thumbs up instead
Thanks... GoPro mounting on head is hard to get the right angle, I really wanted to show everything but I couldn't
