Can you please post what profiles are required for the Cape-Vineyard window trim? I am building a house and I would like to use this. Can't find the profile styles required to make the complete window frame. Have the PDF catalog, making a BOM for the supply house. Thanks!
Hi Paul, our apologies for the delayed response. Typically the installation of these surrounds are meant to replace the existing components. These surrounds can be used with vinyl siding, but this is usually done during a re-siding remodel or on new construction. This is because the builder/contractor will need to properly flash and create a build out and or at least be able to install the surrounds to the framing around the window. The proper flashing and installation to the framing (not directly through siding, as the siding needs to expand and contract) is a very important aspect for water management and for proper installation. Cellular PVC surrounds are really not meant to be installed through existing siding without proper flashing and proper mounting to the framing structure, with channels that allow the siding to expand and contract behind the surrounds. Hope this helps!
For the "Eclectic-Designer", how do you trim around the 180 degree arched window shown in the upper right of the picture (see point 8:17 of the video)?
So here's a dumb question, how does this attach to the house? I just replaced an old window in my Folk Victorian house which received a brutal siding job in the 80s leaving it with trimless windows. I want to keep the siding, but add trim.
Hi Ristin, at the 11:50 mark in this video: ua-cam.com/video/VWjax0QTHLA/v-deo.html discusses how to attach to the wall using a screw and plug system. Be sure to understand how flashing works to avoid any moisture penetration issues when replacing trim. You can either fur out this window trim system or cut back your old siding to butt the trim directly to it.
Hi, I recently had windows replaced and need to put trim at bottom and top of window. I have aluminum siding. Do you install the trim boards on top of the siding? How do you keep it flat since siding has rows that slant in?
Hi, thanks for reaching out! It would help us to see photos of your siding and windows so we can most accurately answer this question. Please send us a direct message on Facebook or Instagram with photos and we'd be happy to help!
Hi Kristen, please see our Trim catalogue here: www.royalbuildingproducts.com/sites/rbp/files/2019-01/rbp_trim_and_mouldings_contractor_handbook_us_2019.pdf Reference pages 31-36 for window trim construction and assembly.
Hi Bud, we recommend professional grade PVC adhesive. Your local hardware store should be able to assist you with finding the right adhesive for the job. For more information, check out our Celect Installation Handbook: www.royalbuildingproducts.com/sites/rbp/files/2020-06/celect-installation_handbook_2020.pdf.
How do we go about receiving some sort of paper literature showing the different styles of installing the PVC window trim moldings as my distributor doesn't provide any? If needed, I'll E-mail my address. Thank you

Hi Patrick- Typically, most trim products do not eliminate the potential of moisture penetration. As long as the house is properly wrapped and the window is properly flashed, it will not cause an issue. If this is a concern, an aluminum Z bend or flashing bend can be installed to channel water from the wall to the front of the trim/window.
So, I'm no carpenter by any means but what stops the rain from entering behind the molding and getting behind the siding and causing water damage/mold?

It seems like you need to bring out your shop to fabricate the window casings. And then you have to wrestle the picture frame trim up 30' ft on pump jacks (hopefully it's not windy) and then install it! Since the average homes that I side have 20 + windows, this will add considerably to the cost of the job. I can't see an average siding job using this product and employing this system, costing anything less than $50 grand! Isn't technology grand!!
@@robertkelly9772 I used this on my house I built all the surrounds myself for 14 windows it took a day to make them and a day to install them, and I am a DIYer. The materials were pretty reasonable , for 14 windows was less than $1000. I set up ladder jacks, the PVC isnt that heavy and quite sturdy when you glue it.

How can this be used on and older window with existing sills? And then how can this be used with Vinyl Siding?

Just checking back to see if you're replied to this question. Any advice you have would be certainly appreciated. Thanks :)

Water getting behind concerns me, flashed or not. I think I’d still prefer trim with an integrated j-channel.
This video is six yrs old; does royal even sell trim a la carte anymore?? I think not.
