Producer Steven Greenberg in the studio with David Z and Roger Dumas tracking the electronic drum parts on the song Power from Mouth to Mouth (Funkytown Album) on Casablanca Records. Location is Sound 80, Studio 2, Minneapolis, MN. The song touts the Power of the DJ spinning records. Vocals by Cynthia Johnson, lead singer of Lipps, Inc.

How very cool to view previously unseen (by me anyway) origins of a jam you have loved for 44 years. The ode to the DJ! Love it, loved it, will always love it. Great job representing the Minneapple, Mr. Greenberg. Love + respect to ya!!
More please 😊.. and btw am I the only person on earth who ADORES their final album "4"?.. I'm not looking to debate Cynthia's vocal talent versus her replacement (s) , or that it's an album that changed the course of music , I just find it to simply be an endlessly listenable collection of infinitely hummable tunes , nothing more nothing less. Would love to see a proper/official re-release on CD.

@@johnstrawberriusfields suddenly the world seems like a less lonely place lol, thanks for letting me know. Also found out recently that Margaret one of the vocalists on "4" did a huge amount of back up and some vocal leads on apparently unreleased tracks as well with none other than Prince!!!
