It's pretty simple, the girl lied. She lied about the drinking game in order to get people on her side. So now we're faced with the situation between two people, one of whom lied, and the other we have not found to have lied. I don't even know why we need to go any further than that. One person has clearly demonstrated their willingness to lie and manipulate to twist the story into their favor. That's really all we need to know.
If the whole point of this conversation is to determine whether or not she genuinely believes that she was SA'd, then I think the answer is quite clear: No. Because if she genuinely believed that she was assaulted, then she wouldn't also feel the need to lie about the circumstances surrounding it.

So Brittany wants us to believe that this Katie girl could read off of her script, several times, "freshly 18" without realizing that what she was saying wasn't true? So if someone edited and manipulated her script to say that she was a three-legged demon dog, would she also not realize that wasn't true? The reason why she didn't immediately correct herself on that is because the falsehood was intentional.

The shock that papa had at things Brittany said in this conversation really makes me think he either doesn’t actually watch much of her content or doesn’t pay attention to it…nothing she said in this conversation was anything new. I’ve noticed Papa had blinders on for her every other time he’s covered some of her shit. As someone who has NVLD, which presents quite similarly to high functioning autism, I’ve never met someone who is NVLD or a high functioning Autistic that just switches from being capable to go to party and be social with strangers enough to not make things bad or awkward yet devolve to not know the physical gestures leading to a possible sexual interest.
At that age, most autistics or NVLD, even if they don’t "get the cues" recognize the physical representations of the cues or atleast some of them . They’re not just going through their entire life not trying to learn . We want to be able to socialise, we don’t want to make things awkward, are we perfect ? No, but we’re better than just pulling out our conditions to avoid accountability. More often than not , we take the accountability and apologize cuz we think, even if it’s healthy or not, that the cues were something we should have gotten

I had a very similar experience. I didn't know who any of these people were, and I started watching Brittany because I find it helpful to at least occasionally listen to people I disagree with. But it quickly became apparent that there wasn't much substance to anything she says, and she clearly views herself as superior, the wisest of the wise, the most profound. She seems to think she's deeper than the ocean, when in reality she's shallower than a puddle.

The problem of Caiti mentioning "Freshly 18" and the drinking games goes beyond her misspeaking. For her first video she has a script and for her to have a script she had to go over the events of that night and pay attention to the details. She felt it necessary to paint herself as a helpless person because she was "freshly 18" or "freshly out of highschool". The problem here is that she's wording it to make george look gross but adulthood doesn't work like that. There isn't a scale of adulthood and ability to consent, you're either a minor or of age and she was of age. The drinking games is very important as well. Her initial retelling paints george as a guy who illegally gave drinks to a girl to loosen her up. The truth is that she came to the party tipsy already so george was just giving her drinks that she was already drinking. Two big points in her initial video that make george out to be a predator, that she meticulously chose to include while writing out a script, were untrue.

1. Caiti obviously lied about the freshly 18 statement as it was written in her journal and i dont believe an average aesthetic makeup girl is going to use shakespearean analogy. “Doth my young nubile mind shatter under the heavy rock of Georges hand like glass” because if Caiti DID mean “freshly 18” as Naive and unexperienced she would have said that in her response video instead of claiming it was a typi
2 they dont ever discuss it but Caiti very clearly retells the story multiple times under multiple different emotions. For instance “I was just chill” to “i was so scared, i hid in my phone and barely squeaked out a no” to “i confused my nerves for excitement”
3. I am also more concerned about the fact that Caiti didnt begin to have an opinion lf feeling threatened until after talking to a friend who was unrelated claimed they were uncomfortable with it.
4. Brittany essentially claims Caiti isnt morally bad because caiti doesnt think she herself is morally bad. No the whole thing didnt have to be a scheme “im gonna go seduce george while drunk so that I can throw him under a bus” but coming out with exxagerated allegations like she did a whole year after evaluating, putting the events together etc is morally bad. Yes victims react differently but her story comes off more as reading too many rpe fan fictions
4. She severely damages future and current victims by claiming it is useless to go to the police and that it is better to feel empowered to come out yourself. Feeling empowered isnt going to stop the evil people actually commiting these crimes and you create more victims.
5. Caitis consequence should be a oublic shunning and this should be set as an example to properly evaluate your story, make sure you have the pieces before you make an allegation in a public space (replying more as I watch).
5. It is very damning to Caitis credibility with every lie, intentional or not. And she has to know this. People throw her whole story out when it is most likely the truth is found between hers and Georges. But Georges story aligns more with the recollection of Dream and Caitis friend that was there so people believe him.
6. Cuddling doesnt have to be inherently sexual in this scenario. Cuddling doesnt have to mean “let me jump your bones asap”. However socially it is seen as having a mutual interest in someone. It is reasonable for George to take that as a sign of interest and make a move. I very much doubt he just reached under her shirt and fondled her out of nowhere in a room full of people. At any point she coukd have expressed discomfort
8. The world is absolutely not moving towards needing verbal yes or no. Does she genuinely believe every sexual envounter needs to start with either a contract stated clearly someones intentions and desires with a witness to confirm sound mind and body, or a pause every 2 minutes to ask “may I kiss you? Hold your hand? Place my head on your shoulder?”
9. Under Brits assumption “gay people sometimes kiss and its not even sexual so Caitis point about cuddling not being sexual is valid” how do we know George saw putting his hand on her as sexual

Once again she lies about the night stating “i was sitting there on my phone trying to calm myself down” presents a very clear distinction from “we were cuddling” which makes it a lie by omission in order to make George seem more predatory. Sorry to say, but it doesn't really matter a whole lot about perception or not when it comes to holding each other accountable... I can think I'm the emperor of mankind and everyone that doesn't bow to me is a heretic - that doesn't mean I can decree for everyone who doesn't obey to be exiled or executed... That's just not how reality works... Perception can be a powerfull thing that will literally shape each of our realities - but when it comes to actions against others, you can't ignore reality and go off of emotions.

@@TriFekt thanks! I'm building a PC as soon as my GPU gets here and i want some new PC games to try. that one looks fun. I like the League of Legends style but with 3rd person.
I think Brittany wants to emphasize empathy and moving on so much because she's been through a lot herself and sees the benefit of having moved on from painful experiences and learning from them. But no one wants to be told when it's time to get over something that hurt them and especially not while they're currently in the middle of being accused of something awful. Her advice to move on might work for someone who's a few years past the initial injustice, but it's foolish to suggest he needs to get over it now, while his top priority is obviously going to be clearing his name so this doesn't stain him permanently.
